America has won another first, miles in front of anybody! The category they have won so easily is: "The Most Boring Subject The World Has Ever Known" And they won it with "American Politics" A heart breaking boring subject!
This is not meant to insult anybody, it is simply honest questions I've had for a long time and I'm hoping that somebody can answer them in plain English and they are: Why have the Americans deliberately changed the spelling of some English words when they speak and write, and why do they write the date the wrong way round, and why do they have their light switches upside down? I can only imagine that this was done deliberately by someone in the past, but why?

Far more sad when on foreign shore we stand listing the tender memories of our own land. Memories of legends from youth and infancy taught in our Scottish schools as a legacy! Chief of historic tales, Wallace of Caledon waking clannish memories in each Scottish son. Whether on a far off scorching coast we toil or north, on the Arctic’s freezing snowy soil hearing music of our land we close sad eyes rousing our patriotism, then illusions arise! Our souls open to where once we would dwell the waving trees in forests and the lochs swell. Each wanderer has visions feeding his brain of reaching his native Scottish shore again! Are such feelings for the homesick confined now just awakening in a Scot’s poetic mind? All patriots know their truth is on this page not least for far off Scottish tears to engage! From Westminster to beyond China’s red fire sons of Scotland are there, always to inspire. The proudest Scottish thinkers to all we give as part of us, our ancestors will always live, more proudly now, for all the world approved of Scotland, from where its sons first moved!
Recommend a book for other members! My recommendation would be: "The Glaswegian part one" by Kenny Adamson and "The Glaswegian parts two and three" by Kenny Adamson A unique exciting international thriller trilogy, all two books can be found on Amazon. What do you recommend?
Scotland lost its national pride today! I can say that because I'm a Scot! I feel ashamed to discover there are so many traitors in Scotland, mind you with over 300 thousand English 'settlers' in Scotland who were allowed a vote and hundreds of thousands of immigrants happy to carry British passports also allowed to vote we probably lost half a million votes even before the polling stations open so I guess the result was a foregone conclusion which probably makes Scotland the most democratic country in the world, or the most foolish! Any negative English comments cannot make me feel worse than I already do!
We had enough brain cells to give the world umpteen society improving inventions and there is nothing wrong with Aberdeen, lovely people! Leaving is only a bad idea for the English politicians, that's why they are in panic mode, England would collapse without Scotland but I guess that will stick in your craw! Having been born and brought up in Glasgow I cannot understand after waiting over three hundred years for this opportunity why there are so many traitors in Scotland! Such a parcel of rogues in yon nation!

I read such drivel about this subject that it really makes me sick! Why does the tory government not want Scotland to become independent? That is the only question any true Scottish person need ask themselves! As to the answer, well obviously it will weaken England and strengthen Scotland! The First Minister is no fool, he knows that a free from England independent Scotland would thrive and grow, it would be up to England to keep up, my one concern is all the immigrants in Scotland might be swayed by the government who let them in! I just hope that all true scottish people vote YES!

Hello TartanK-I agree totally with what you said but the fact that the BNP and the SNP were mentioned in the same sentence just shows that people all over Britain don't know which way to turn to stem the flow of the multitude of immigrants who are taking over all aspects of our society-not least housing and the NHS! Although I have lived in England for many years I come from Glasgow and if still there would certainly vote for the SNP-but as far as I know at this moment in time the BNP is the only party that would stem the immigrant flow to every corner of the UK and it is for that reason alone that more and more people all over the UK are turning to that fascist party-conveniently forgetting that it is a fascist party-which both you and I hold in contempt! I am shocked on a daily basis to hear people from all walks of life saying how the BNP are right-I simply remind them what happened in the second world war by another fascist party and in many cases their common sense comes through-we cannot blame the immigrants themselves-it is our politicians that are at fault-and more and more of them have foreign accents-which is just another thing to stick in the throat of the long suffering British public!
