This reminded me so much about what my mother said to as a child.

The trouble is i said the same things to my son.

One thing i remeber her saying when we asked her to do something when she just sat down.

She would say i can't coz i got bones in my legs i can't get up.
we would look at her in amazement and leave her a lone for a while.
