May Day citizens cavalcade.

Firstly, the only person I represent is myself, this is not targeted at Ministers or the Troika...it is to gain public support and make people aware that the resistance to these charges is not and will not subside.

Secondly, anytime there is a local protest, these everyday people have been hugely supportive, very rarely do we receive any complaints or ill feeling.

Maybe you could cite reference to even one of these protests ending up in a riot where private or public property has been damaged.
Considering they are carried out on a weekly basis around the country I am unable to find a single case where any criminal damage has been done.

Where are all these smashed up shops and overturned burning cars?
The last time that happened was at the Love Ulster event and that was down to scumbags and dissident republicans.

I'd hazard a guess and say you are either grossly misinformed or a staunch member of one of the political parties currently in power.

We do have PAIRTI CUMMANACHT NA hEIREANN members involved but so what?
It's a grassroots campaign that is non-political and made up from ordinary people from all across the political spectrum.

In short, no.

The North Koreans are a bit busy at the moment and the Chinese are really not that bothered to be honest :)

It's organised by ordinary hard working tax-payers that have had enough.

In your opinion.

One that is often overlooked as it was beat into a lot of us in school.

One for the banks :)

There will be many similar events on in Dublin.

As far as being optimistic, well when you get a bunch of like minded people together under a common goal, you'll that it's a lot easier to engage with total strangers and people are generally friendlier and more open than normal.

I raised the issue of the start time at the last meeting, it was decided the later starting time would be better as many people work and may not be available during the day + it was felt that slowing traffic during peak working hours may interfere with peoples livelihood.

As for not being civil disobedience, fair point but there will be many other actions taken nationwide and not associated with the CAHWT that can't for obvious reasons be publicized.

Stand up for yourselves and join us on May 1st, send a message that you will take no more.

RE: Who is the Head of State in the UK

Who ever is financing their national debt I'd imagine :)

Money..

Describe it in 5 words or less.

RE: It's a day for the high stool

Those buckets of depression were warm, clean, and gave my plants and veg a right good boost after the cold dry period, now they will burst into life.

Complain about the rain, but it's a miracle you even exist.

RE: MEN only please: If you ran into your ex-girlfriend... (see details)

Time and circumstance will change people...the person you knew 10 years ago no longer exists.

RE: what does drinking alcohol do for you...?

Well I'm just in from work at 12.30 pm after dealing with idiots for the past 7 hours.

The couple of beers in my fridge are doing a champion job of helping me unwind....

RE: Being Selfish

Noun
The circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and assessed.

RE: Being Selfish

People were created to be loved
things were created to be used
the reason why the world is in chaos
is because things are being loved and
people are being used.

RE: Anti-Feminism; The Radical Notion That Feminists are Insane

Well I'll have to do a fair bit of reading and then reply properly, my opinion is but an opinion and probably could be described as a knee jerk reaction, that I'll freely admit.

As far as logical reasoning goes, not really sure how we can have that as long as right wing christian groups from the US are donating 100's of thousands of dollars to pay for media campaigns in every local paper and posters that have appeared in recent weeks in towns all across the country.

RE: Being Selfish

You might have to put the definition of selfish into context to get a reasonable response?

RE: Anti-Feminism; The Radical Notion That Feminists are Insane

When people refer to the pro-choice movement as pro-death you can be assured that no amount of logical argument or reason will be heard.

The governments new found desire to legislate in these cases is a direct result of public pressure and demonstrations that were broadcast in the media worldwide.

If this were not the case then the whole affair would have been swept under the carpet.

RE: Which country is going to ruin the eurozone?

The whole lot of them, FIAT currency historically has always failed.
There is not one example where FIAT ( Fix it again tomorrow ) currency has ever succeeded for more than a few hundred years before failing.

RE: How much coffee or beer do you drink a day?

10-12 coffees during the day and a couple of beers at night with the odd joint.

Not too pushed about the beer and joints but hopelessly addicted to the coffee.

RE: Anti-Feminism; The Radical Notion That Feminists are Insane

I like feminists...no real vested interest in any of their agenda's but take the case of Sativa Halappanavar as an example.

It was the feminists who are deeply involved in the pro-choice movement who forced the government to bring forward legislation that was passed 20 years ago to the table in recent weeks.

And then you have the Femen movement, what man doesn't like to see beautiful women half naked as a form of protest :)

RE: Back ribs...........Who has a good recipe?...............

Bone side down on a bed of onions with a can of cider poured into the baking tray.
90C in the oven for 3-4 hours with tinfoil covering to prevent the steam escaping.

The fat renders leaving just meat on the bone that you can literally suck off.
Slow cooking for the win :)

RE: have you ever dumped someone then taken them back later?

Once and never again...never ever, ever, ever again.

A leopard can't change it's spots and it was a waste of 2 years of my time.

RE: Good manners/etiquette

Go to the party, life is short enough without letting the people you hate take the joy out of special occasions.

There is no law saying you have to interact with this couple, well you might have to give a grudging hello but after that just talk to the other guests and ignore the people you don't like.

In your opinion.

Which is the best trad song or musical piece.

Fionnghula is just a beautiful piece than needs no instruments to enhance it...it's pure perfection :)

RE: What's your dream cars (or bikes)?

My first bike was a GZ 250, sky blue in colour, over weight and asthmatic.

I can't count the amount of times a guy on a GS left my lovely little blue hippo standing at the lights :)
