I just sold one last week, and I'm still getting skinnier.
The pets are eating well, so all's good.
I was just out on the wet coast to do some business, and figured I'd stop in to see some friends. I was going to just turn around and drive home, but I don't get out there as often as I used to, so....
One couple is having a very toguh time with their business, mainly due to him having a stroke 4 years ago, and her having to do most of the work. I know they need help, but I'm not around the area, although I would spend my time to do things for them, if I could.
Another friend, having monetary issues, because he spends his time in bars/pubs chasing skirts. It'll likely never change, but that's him, yet he he has a good paying job and still struggles.
I guess what I'm asking is, what's important to you, what do you spend time in persuit of?
Time is the one thing you never get back, and can't create more of, so what's important to you that you spend your time on, or who do you spend your time with? What is time "well spent", or what do you consider "wasted time", or even "time well wasted"?
What are your "priorities", and what do you see as being important time, or management of your time?
I know, a lot of questions, but all the same shizzle, just different ways of asking, just in case you have any questions about what I'm asking.
Here, too, and a little late in the season for all this snow and ice. Maybe not "historically", but it is for my liking.
Just home from work a while ago, and took the hound for a walk. We got pelted by frozen ice pellets, and decided to head indoors to the warmth of the wood stove and the forums on CS.
He has quite a few different videos out, and books. Well worth spending the time to listen/read what he has to say. Not saying I agree with everything he has to say, but still very educational.
What Trudeau peddles is every bit as insidious as anything Harper sold us, and very much like a religion, or even a cult. Please don't look at as a right/left paradigm, they're both statist parties and have their own preservation andpower in mind, long before any of us matter.
There's definately WAAAAAY too much influence from the south. Not just in politics, but in every single aspect of our lives.
Anarchists need money, too. Who's paying them? Don't think for a second they're doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.
Rob, it's not the east parting ways that is the current concern, it's the entire west of Canada. It's been 40 years of babble, but it's possible it could gain political steam and come to a head now. The most recent name for it is Wexit, and it's more popular in Aberia and Saskatchewan, but there's a lot of support for it in BC and Manitoba as well. Quebec has had their referendums and voted to stay, but their still not really a part of Canada like the rest of the provinces and territories are. They do still have special rights, which irks the west to no end.
Yes, anywhere the fascist party has been elected, there have been cuts to health care and education, and reductions in nursing and teaching staff, as well as policing. That's just what right wing fanatics do, it's in their nature to privatise evrything, period. Otherwise they'd be jobless after they retire (with a fat pension) from politics. No brainer, filthy sacks of shizzle, the whole lot of them.
The same sacks of shizzle make sure their corporate "friends" are taken care of, removing caps on insurance (Alberia) and de-regulating energy, among other things. Again, the status quo for fascists.
Carbon tax, a hot topic, at least until politicians get greased, then it will be a great thing. BC had one for a decade prior to this year, and oddly, consumption has gone up steadily, every year, regardless of this tax that is suppost to curb consumption. Makes me believe that it's just another tax, which it is. It'll go up every year as well, making life more expensive and miserable for all. Also, the UN has called for a "sharp increase" in energy prices to curb use, although it's proven that doesn't actually work. I don't believe that's the true reasoning behind it either, it's just to push more people into the dirt.
More fascist scaremongering, it's always "the other" that you should be scared of, although I will say, Islam is not just a religion, it's a political system as well, and a way of life. It doesn't fit well into western culture, at least not by force. I have mixed feelings, as I have seen some that work it out amongst themselves and become valuable members of the community they belong to, and those that don't. Being a first generation Canadian has given me a better insight into the lives of others like me, regardless of colour or religion, cultural differneces, or ethnic background. I identify with the Lebanese kids as well as I do with the Natives, the few Asians and even fewer black kids when I was growing up. We were all the "outsiders", in a society of multi-generational WASP families that didn't want their kids associating with the "rest of us".
The crime in Alberia has gone insane, and if anyone wants to argue it, please try, I'll prove them wrong. I also have some stat's for rural BC, if one wants to challenge that. The provincial government of Alberia just passed a law, stating you can no longer sue, as a criminal, if you are injured while committing a criminal offence. Why did they have to even suggest that kind of law, it shouldn't be allowed in the first pace, in a civilised society.
Crime and kids on drugs go hand in hand, but it isn't a matter of drugs, or crime, it's more likely that they were raised by Conservative parents. You know, the "spoil the rod, ruin the child" type. Deeply religious, upstanding citizens, etc..
I've exceded my character limit for one post....you figure it out.
Try an order from China, they seem to know how to pack better than they do here in North America. The product may still be crap, but the packaging is superb.
Time
I hope so. Been doing a lot of that lately.
