Hi T.... I'm glad you asked this question because it made me think.... The question itself and the different responses from others is definitely way more interesting than whether we are right or wrong in our thinking....
How do we break karma? Well, we have to first be able to understand what it is, I think... For sure it is very complex, much more so than all the simplistic sayings we have coined over time about it; because by that same token we see examples where karma would "apparently" manifest itself and it does not seem to,....always do so by our simplistic, self imposed/defined terms of what karma is. I feel that karma in essence is negativity perpetrated and perpetuated amongst ourselves; actions and reactions to events whether we are acting or reacting also imply will and determination; the other avenue would be avoidance....altogether... I feel that in essence to avoid karma we have to understand the laws of nature, we need to know and understand ourselves well....it is worth the effort in gold, and last but not least, we have to apply ourselves continually to the task at hand, conciously and concientiously; I know it is easier said than done....... but with effort applied correctly it begins to manifest itself.
