Strangely, My parents met in Germany before my birth, Feb 44. We immigrated to Australia in 55. when my younger brother wanted to volunteer for the 6/7? day war in Israel, they wouldn't accept him because he was not Jewish. Several years later he did work on a Kibbutz and met his Roman Catholic wife there. What I'm saying is, out parents never ever said anything about Jewish people until then, they were horrified. I totally am grateful for them never putting their racialisms onto to their 4 kids. I presume they never expected it to be an issue in Australia, which is where we came when I was 11
It totally amazed us. Four kids. One worked on a Kibbutz in Israel when he was 21. That was the first we ever heard about any sort of predudice from them. Us four sons and daughters had no idea. We all argued with them many times, but that was the way it was. End of story. I/we have always been appreciative of the fact that they never made it part of our upbringing. All 4 of us have no predudies
