Trumps wall that Mexico just built fell down

RE: My Favourite Video Clips.

RE: Did you ever purchase a prostitude ?

When I was 17 there was a place on 111 St and park Ave where several Puerto Rican girls lived. Me and some of my friends would go up there and for 5 bucks you could do the deed. It was wham bamm thank you maam, and you were out of there. Of course this was at a time long before the advent of the Aids virus.

RE: Hotrods: One Hit Wonders, Unique and Forgotten Songs, Chat, Silly Pics, and whatever else

This is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite singers Steve Goodman. Steven died of Leukemia in 1984 at only 36 years of age. He wrote "the City of New Orleans."

RE: Hotrods: One Hit Wonders, Unique and Forgotten Songs, Chat, Silly Pics, and whatever else

In the middle of the picture is a very young Alan Freed. He was the first and biggest promoter of Doo Wop and R&B and R&R in the early 50's. I believe he was also the one who discovered Lillian Leach & The Mellows. I used to listen to the Alan Freed show on WINS AM radio in NY for years before they went to all news.

RE: Hotrods: One Hit Wonders, Unique and Forgotten Songs, Chat, Silly Pics, and whatever else

This was huge in 1955. Listening to this song transports me back to when I was a teenager and all my friends appear in my mind, I can hear them speak, and laugh. I love the sound of the woman harmonizing in the background.

RE: Historical - Traditional Family life 1950s

OP, You really hate us don't you?

RE: WTF Happened??

In 1947 men looked like men.

RE: What is an interesting fact about you not many people know about?

I was in several sports car races with Paul Newman. In fact I damn near crashed into him at a track in Connecticut when he lost it in front of me.

RE: What happens when people find out that Capitalism was a lie?

It seems a lot of people don't know what Capitalism is.

Def;
"Capitalism is an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit. Characteristics central to capitalism include private property, capital accumulation, wage labor, voluntary exchange, a price system and competitive markets."

Where is the lie?

RE: Movies you watched recently

It's been ages since I watched a full movie. Most of todays movies suck IMO. The last movie I watched was with my son. It's called "FIVE". Came out in 1951 about the last 5 people on earth after a nuclear war. These 5 were spared due to where they were when the blasts happened. The movie was B/W of course, color would have ruined it.

RE: How important is Valentine's Day to you?

Valentine's Day had a very special meaning for me. The woman I loved was born on Feb 14th.

RE: Storm Is On

It's 37f here right now dead calm. I went to the store and got food. I have 3/4 tank of gas. My chainsaw is in the house + fuel & bar oil. I got my little wood stove going.

RE: Did Adam And Eve have a lot of fun before they ate the forbidden fruit?

I think Eve ate the snake before she found out that apples taste better. banana

A Better Mouse Trap

I can see that working. The mouse gets his teeth hooked on the cotton fibers and when he pulls his head back ...Snap thumbs up

A Better Mouse Trap

Actually it's the same old Mouse Trap, just a smarter way of using it. Have you ever set out a Mouse Trap only to come back the next day to find the bait is gone and the trap wasn't even set off? A mouse is a very delicate creature, it can pick the bait off the trap without setting it off. But not if the bait is glued to the lever or affixed in some other way, like with a tiny rubber band. The mouse tries to pull the bait off the lever and it wont budge so it pulls a little harder and Bam one less mouse in the house. I find it's also a good idea to place a few tiny pieces of bait on the floor in front of the trap which the mouse will eat without any problems. this will make the mouse confident that it's not a trap and it will go for the morsel stuck on the lever and it's all over.

RE: Hotrods: One Hit Wonders, Unique and Forgotten Songs, Chat, Silly Pics, and whatever else

This song was a mashup of song titles from the era. How many can you name? I got an idea, why don't we list them all including who made them. I'll start;
Lonely Tear Drops by Jackie Wilson.

RE: Why do some doctors spend more time typing what you say into a computer file instead of discussing

The last time I met with my Doctor he spent more time looking at his computer screen than at me. it seemed strange like he didn't want to face me. About 6 months after this I learned what was probably causing his weird behavior. He was drunk.

Yogurt

You can save a lot of money Rob by making it yourself in your kitchen. It's not hard. All you need in a big pot, A bunch of containers to hold the Yogurt while it sets, a meat thermometer to check the temperature of the milk, and a styrofoam cooler big enough to hold all the containers as they "slowly" cool down overnight. It's also a lot of fun not to mention learning a new skill.

Yogurt

I didn't invent making Yogurt without a Yogurt maker, I simply made my own system using 2 small styrofoam coolers containing 9 glass tumblers full of the Yogurt mixture which I put in a large Omaha Steak House styrofoam cooler. This setup uses the super insulating qualities of about 3" of styrofoam to keep the mixture warm long enough for the yogurt culture to do it's job.

BTW Mr Naughty, if you were interested in making Yogurt you would find this thread extremely useful and interesting.

Yogurt

You have the right to remain silent, use it. professor

Yogurt

I made a gallon of Yogurt the other day. Grape flavor. I don't use an electric Yogurt maker. But I do use an electric stove to heat the milk to 180 deg in a big Teflon lined pot. This batch is not the best I've made for 2 reasons, 1, I prefer Strawberry flavor over Grape and 2, I switched brands of starter Yogurt from plain Great Value Yogurt from Walmart to Yoplait. I use a Yogurt maker of my own design which uses no electricity and can make a much bigger batch than most Yogurt makers.

RE: Australia Burning.......

Thousands of camels in South Australia will be shot dead from helicopters as a result of extreme heat and drought.

A five-day cull started on Wednesday, as Aboriginal communities in the region have reported large groups of camels damaging towns and buildings.

"They are roaming the streets looking for water. We are worried about the safety of the young children", says Marita Baker, who lives in the community of Kanypi.

Some feral horses will also be killed.

I was so happy when Australia took a bunch of White Rhinos from Africa to save them from poachers and extinction a few years back. I sure hope they are alright. sigh
Australia wildfires bring over 100 firefighters from US, including elite crew from California

Cranberry Sauce

I thought I knew a lot about eyes but I've never heard of this before. I guess you're never too old to learn something new. I hope your eye heals normally so you can get those new glasses.

Cranberry Sauce

Not a problem. BTW, what manner of surgery have you had? I too have had eye surgery many years ago.

Cranberry Sauce

I bet I know what YOU bring to a party, A half jar of KY long past its "Best By" Date.

Cranberry Sauce

My dear, go back and re-read my post, the Cup of sugar was from the recipe on the bag, I use only 1/4 cup of sugar.

RE: Hotrods: One Hit Wonders, Unique and Forgotten Songs, Chat, Silly Pics, and whatever else

This song was at the top of the charts when I worked at the Rambler dealership. One day I asked Mr Diamond, the owner of Diamond Motors what affect if any this song had on their car sales? He said "OMG they went through the roof". We even had one customer who drag raced a 1959 Rambler V8 and was very competitive. The 59 Rambler offered a V8 called the Rebel as an option which almost nobody ordered as the average Rambler customer wasn't looking for speed but great gas mileage. This guy was unbeatable because the Rebel V8 was basically a 327 Chevy but the Rambler was so much lighter than a Chevy or a Ford it didn't have a lot of dead weight to get moving.
As you probably know that yellow car in the pic is a Rambler American, not the top of the Rambler line by any means, in fact it was kinda boring.

RE: US- Iran

What, only 1 emoj? You're slipping, Is senility slipping in bearded fart? BTW, don't edit my words to suit your agenda. I never implied that Congress engaged in Insider Trading and you know it! Trumps stock dealings has nothing to do with Congress, I have no doubt that a close look at his tax returns would show that he used his lofty office and political power to make investments which financially benefited him and his family personally.
Why do you think he's so paranoid about having his tax return see the light of day? He knows it would be the end of his political career not to mention his possible freedom.

RE: US- Iran

Well Well, Look what we have here. It looks like the Moron In Chief may be losing his support from the Evangelical community. It looks like they're finally coming to the conclusion that they put their money on the wrong horse.
