Yeah, they had about 6 Mavericks and whenever they wrecked one they would bring up another one to replace it. I heard the set of shocks we supplied them made jump after jump and lasted until the show ended. Of course we also had them put much stiffer springs and bump stops on the shock to protect them during a hard landing.
@inthewoods I was involved with some of the suspension modifications to the Nightrider car. What nobody but people connected with the production knew was that the car that did most of those crazy jumps in the series was actually a Ford Maverick, not a Pontiac Firebird. The Firebird was only used for the closeups. The Maverick body was modified to look like a Firebird. The Maverick was equipped with our Koni double adjustable coil-over racing shocks, $300.00 apiece. The original shocks blew apart every time the car landed from a jump and the studio shop got really tired of replacing a full set of shocks every time the car made a jump, it got kind of expensive.
Trump imposed Steel & Aluminum tariffs on China on May 31 2018. The following chart will show how the price of Soy beans have dropped almost immediately afterward. These are not Futures prices which are no more than an educated guess at what prices are expected to be, but everyone knows that futures prices is not a guarantee what the price will be when the future becomes the present. This is just one of my favorites. It was also my mothers song and she lived this song. You may have heard covers of this song by Streisand or others but this is the original.
I was a member years before he showed up with his picture standing on a beach in front of a cross and claiming to be agnostic. BTW, what do you mean by socks?
Can anybody outline the benefits to come out of landing on the dark side (always faces away from the Earth) of the moon? Other than demonstrating that they could do it, I see nothing of any value coming from it going forward. In my mind it's nothing more than a stunt.
My friend Jimmy used to pick his and eat it. He even had favorite parts. I don't remember which parts he seemed to favor because I really wasn't interested. One time he picked a good one and offered it to me. I politely declined the snack saying I really wasn't that hungry.
Cute! In the interest of total accuracy Hillary Clinton got more votes from the people of the US than Trump did. The flawed out of date system put him in the Oval Office, not the voters.
The decision to pull 2500 troops out of Syria was made by one man and one man only. It was not put to a vote or discussed with military advisers. It was an emotional, knee jerk reaction by an unstable man who has been entrusted with way more power than he has even the slightest ability to manage.
Cute ! So Social Security is a Ponzi scheme aye? In a way I agree with you. But the Fed is supposed to be investing the funds in something to make it grow and sustain itself. Whether they are or not or are any good at it I'm skeptical. It's not easy to invest very large sums of money discreetly without creating a lot of unwanted attention to your operation. I see cars going up & down the highway all day everyday and I think to myself, there go the people who are working and paying taxes to the Government which they in turn give to me. I did the exact same thing for about 50 years and my tax dollars went to support many people who are most likely dead today. It's a system that works, like it or not.
Show me and everybody else where I said I pay more taxes than Trump. I said I'm in a higher tax bracket than his corporations. You're obviously not a very good reader so I'll spell it out for you.
HIS CORPORATIONS ARE IN A 20% TAX BRACKET I AM IN A 25% TAX BRACKET. Would you like some mathematical examples? Never mind I'l give you some anyway.
If a Trump Tower makes $50 million in a fiscal year at 20% it winds up costing him $10 million in taxes. If I make $60,000 and pay 25% it costs me $15,000. So he's obviously paying more money in tax than I am. Do you get it now?
You're missing half of the equation. My taxable income hadn't changed much from before to after Trumps raping of the tax code. What changed was that Trumps Corporate tax bracket went down from 39.1% to 20%. That's great if you're a corporation but if you're an individual tax payer, like most middle class Americas you are probably paying a higher rate than what his multi million dollar corporations are paying. Only a blithering idiot would think that was fair. Enjoy.
Oh you mean like Trumps massive tax cut he gave himself? I'm retired and on Social Security and I'm in a higher tax bracket than Donald Trumps Corporations like Trump Tower on Central Park West in Manhattan. That's just 1 of his corporations reaping the benefit of his big tax windfall that people like me are paying for.
From Wiki; "How many Trump Towers does trump own? According to Forbes, this portion of Trump's empire, actually run by his children, has valuation of $562 million. According to Forbes, there were 33 licensing projects under development including seven "condo hotels" (i.e. The seven Trump International Hotel and Tower developments)."
I bet a lot of the people who voted for him because he is a businessman, are having regrets now as they watch him enrich himself at their expense. They're finding out the hard way that he cares more about himself and his wealth than the "Poorly Educated" people he claims to love, who voted for him.
When Hillary announced she would be running for president I was thrilled because it meant that Bill Clinton would be back in the Whitehouse backing up and advising Hillary. To me this meant we would probably be seeing another budget surplus instead of a budget deficit which is normally the outcome of a Republican administration.
I've been aware of the problem for years in fact while I don't make a habit of reading labels I have written to McKee Foods, makers of Little Debbie cake products. I especially implored them to find a substitute oil for their Streusel cakes which are a major favorite of mine. They have unfortunately pulled the product from production so in a way I shot myself in the foot. In my opinion Palm oil is not the problem, the problem is GREED! The same can be said for Beef, you can't blame Beef for the ongoing destruction of the Brazilian rain forest. There again it's the pursuit of the Almighty Dollar which drives the destruction of these forests. I applaud you Daniela for making the effort to alert people around the globe to this problem.
If you've never seen this, you're in for a real treat. It's my understanding that every frame of the movie was hand drawn. The music is spectacular and spell binding. This is the version with an intro by David Bowie.
RE: Blue Monday
It's called Blue Monday because most people have to return to work at a mostly crappy job on Monday morning. This gives them "The Blues"
