RE: Tell a true story nobody will believe

I spent a 1/2 hour in Della Reese's bedroom. She thanked me for stopping by and for a job well done....

On her TV.wink

Very sad occurence

I admit I was stupid for ignoring that sign, ok? My point is someone should have been there to keep a stupid jerk like me from taking a kid on that notoriously dangerous ride. Space mtn should be closed down! I had never even been on a roller coaster before and to find myself on one that is inside a building and then have the lights turned off goes way beyond anything I ever expected to be subjected to. You say I ignored the warning sign. I'm saying there needs to be more than just a sign. Just like that "no swimming" sign didn't keep that 2 YO from a horrible death.

Very sad occurence

I've been to that Disney park in Orlando and to say their safety measures are abysmal is an understatement. I took my 3 YO son with me on a ride called "Space Mountain" There was a sign with a warning about the ride that I interpreted as hype to increase the excitement. There was nobody there to prevent me from taking him on that ride. I held him with 1 arm and held on with the other. He was crying and very scared and for the whole ride I was talking in his ear giving him reassurance that everything would be ok. When we got off that ride I was so angry I could have chewed a nail and spit out the pieces. The problem with these places is they hire HS kids who don't take the job seriously because they are only going to be there for the summer.

Very sad occurence

The parents must have felt like they were thrown back to the age of dinosaurs. I can't even imagine what they felt watching the gator swimming off with their child. I couldn't believe anybody would allow their toddler to be wading in a lagoon in Florida in the evening. I guess being from the Midwest they were unaware that any open body of water in FL is likely to be home to Alligators. They hunt at night.

Very sad occurence

A 2 YO boy was playing in the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa when he was attacked by a 7 foot Alligator and dragged into the water.

They are searching for the boy but I hate to say it but that kid is a goner.
First thing this morning I began monitoring Disney Corporation stock (DIS) price fully expecting it to crash today but instead it's been in the green all day and it's currently up 24 cents as I type this. I was actually thinking of taking a short position in the stock but decided to wait for some confirmation and boy am I glad I waited. The boy and his family came from Nebraska.

The bad news is:

This jerk from Tempe wasn't in that gay bar a few nights ago. Talk about disgusting & vile this guy is the poster child for these terms.

RE: did Jesus turn the water into wine..?

BTW, it's no big deal turning water into wine, I do it about every 3 years with the addition of a few grapes. Obviously people of the bible era were alcoholics placing so much importance on wine.

RE: did Jesus turn the water into wine..?

Clean out the peanut butter from under your caps lock key would you please?

RE: Mr President

I'm sure many people, both men and women will vote for Hillary because she is a woman, but there are millions of people who are going to vote for Hillary for other reasons. Her gender is the least of them. Some will vote for Hillary because they are party voters just like most Republicans.

The overwhelming reason most people of both parties are chomping at the bit to cast their vote for Hillary Clinton is to get Bill Clinton back in the White House.

The electorate made a huge mistake willingly inviting that schmuck from Texas into the White House and I think they have come realize their colossal mistake.

The country was in far greater shape when Bill was president than it is now and it will be again. When the real estate developer from NY says he intends to make America great again, he means he will accomplish this goal when he delivers his concession speech on election night come November.

RE: PROOF, BOTTLED WATER IS MAKING YOU SICK!

That's 11 minutes of my life I'll never get back! What a lame video, like the ph is all you need to know about the quality of drinking water? Forget about Chlorine or lead or Radon or bacteria yadda yadda yadda?
I use to sell NSA water filters and there are FAR more things to consider before you can call a sample of water safe to drink.

This is a typical test kit for water.

Home Depot had a display where you could take home a vial and a mailing envelope and some company would test your water free of charge. there was also a questionnaire you were supposed to fill out which included a question: Do you currently have a water softening system installed? If you checked off the check box, you will not hear from them again. IOW it was a scam to sell you a water conditioner system and if you already had one, they threw your application and sample in the garbage.

RE: Any good tips for killing flies?

Why does every thread turn into a joke thread?

Get a Hummingbird feeder. They love to eat flies. A hummingbird will catch a fly in mid air.

RE: What is your favorite sports car?

Hey Tom, that Elan looks like a copy of a Miata which is a copy of an Elan.
I already have my favorite sports car, a 94 R model Miata with Koni's on it. A great car for tooling around the back roads here in Virginia. The only problem is you can't let it have it's head too much due to private driveways which dump out onto the roads. You have to keep a fair amount in reserve to avoid T-Boning someone who doesn't expect anybody else to be on "their" road.

RE: What is your favorite sports car?

Back in the 80's a turbo'd R5 was used as a pase car for several Indy car races mostly on the smaller tracks. It didn't have quite the "stuff" for pacing the big tracks. I had 2 friends who worked for Renault in Michigan. One was Patrick Jacquemart Google him. He could have risen to a seat in a F1 car had he not met an untimely end at Mid Ohio race track. It was my association with them that got me a chance to own my Black Beauty. I drove from MI to NJ (11 hours) and when I got home I took the car out for a joy ride with my wife. Such was the fun of driving a great handling car. At the time I said I felt I could literally drive the car back to Michigan with no problem.

RE: What is your favorite sports car?

I had 3 R5's, one was a numbered "Black Beuty". Alas a huge Locust tree fell on it in a storm and it got crushed. I think the car was jinxed because prior to being crushed it was rear ended by a Cadillac.

How to win a debate

Create a thread, say, about how wonderful a certain talk show host is, who is also running for the highest position in the country, and when the opposing side replies with solid concrete reasons how you're wrong, simply ban them from your thread. Thanks hon but 2 can play this game. BTW, when is your next cruise? Maybe instead of a cruise, you should charter a plane to Atlantic City and help your buddy out with the latest of his many failed ventures. Sometimes I wonder how many less fortunate people were forced out of their homes so the "great businessman" with the morals of a "Payday loan" operator had a wide open path to build that monstrosity with the stolen name.

RE: Donad Trump's "AMERICA FIRST" Foreign Policy Speech

President Obama has this economy in such great shape that I do not know of anyone looking for a job or a better job. A couple people I know have been offered other jobs and they are not even looking for a job. They were just approached by head hunters working to find qualified people for their clients. Things may be different in the southern states though because they are such a mess down there with their backward corporate owned politicians running the show and dumping on the common man.

Larry Summers said it himself, "The economy always does better under a Democratic administration". Just look at previous Republican admins.

Herbert Hoover Did nothing while the "Great Depression" ravaged the country.

Dwight Eisenhower Played golf while the USSR gobbled up the Eastern half of Europe. Enjoyed the fruits of the post war boom. Proliferated nuclear technology around the globe with his misguided "Atoms for Peace" initiative.

Richard Nixon Corrupt, incompetant, heavy handed approach to solving problems like freezing wages & prices and then abruptly removing controls, prices sky rocketed, wages stayed the same.

Ronald Raegan Put through a massive tax cut for the rich paid for by the poor and middle class.

George Bush blew the surplus created by Bill Clinton by starting a war in the middle east. His admin banned the Bathe party and fired all the police and allowed masses of weapons to fall into the hands of terrorists.

Now we have Trump, a privileged rich kid whos empire he inherited from his parents and who deludes himself into believing he's a self made billionaire. He pulls his supporters from each extreme of the voting public, the wealthy who see him as a safe bet who wont make them pay more of the tax burden and the "poorly educated" who he admittedly loves because they aren't able to see what a phony con artist he is. I'm a New Yorker, believe me this guy is a fake and he's gonna take you all to the cleaners. He may be taking you all in but to me he's like a pane of glass.

RE: EgyptAir flight MS804 disappears from radar on flight from Paris to Cairo

The Med must be starting to stink with all the dead bodies floating around.

RE: 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PROPHECY, USA

If Trump wins in November, Wall ST will crash worse than it did on 07-08. The smart money will stampede trying to exit the market before he screws it up.

RE: Not sure if this is International, or for U.S.A. only

You're pretty naive if you don't know the answer to that question. Think $$$. You and your info is a commodity. Just like the more members a site can claim the more they can charge for ads.

RE: Software help

Totally agree. I've been using Open Office for years and never could understand why anybody would actually pay for an office suite when you can get one every bit as good for free. Only a dumba** would buy microsoft office IMO.

What is a Conservative?

I'm a registered Democrat, I am also conservative, meaning I live frugally in every way, so I should know exactly WTH a "Conservative" is. I have no idea. There are registered members of the Republican party but they are not all "Conservatives" some are "Libertarians" others are .....what?

Right now, the Republican party is at war with itself. This usually results in both sides losing. Sorta reminds me of the Islamic religion which seems to be at war with ITself ie Sunni vs Shia.

I know the motto of the Republican party is Laissez-faire (let it/them be) basically meaning keep government rules and regulations out of public business interests. In other words let corporations do whatever they want in their quest for wealth with zero regard to the harm they may inflict on the rest of the people. Strange that a Republican would ever WANT to be a part of the dreaded government. Especially a supposedly successful business man like Donald Trump the real estate developer and star of the TV show "The Apprentice" from NY. It almost seems like a "conflict of interest".

If elected, will he favor the corporations to the detriment of the rest of us or will he be on the side of the people and keep big corporations honest and not destroy our air and water in their quest for more wealth?

I've heard Trump supporters say they think Trump would make a great president because he is a very successful businessman. This is patently false because a CEO has 1 major job, MAKE MONEY. That is not the job of a President. Therefore Donald Trump has no qualifying experience at running a country as complex and powerful as the United States.
The Federal government is not a TV show, nor is it a Corporation!

RE: More gun control in the USA

Are you for real?????
Maybe you could post some links to this tripe so we can see exactly where you get this absurd nonsense?
Have you ever even been to the US? I seriously doubt it. I find it ironic that so many people from other parts of the world seem to think they know all there is to know about another country and they have never even set foot in said country.

Maybe all you gun worshipers can answer a simple yes or no question.
Should criminals and mentally unhinged people be allowed to own a gun?

I have been waiting about 2 years for one of you to answer this question.

RE: blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God

Yep all 6 feet of it.laugh

RE: Name your favourite..

My mother was born in Budapest and she was a consummate Hungarian cook. As good as she was she said her mother was twice as good as she was. Her mother (died before I was born) was a chef at a resort in the Catskill mtns. My mother said she use to cook for 100's of people in pots the size of garbage cans. My mothers stuffed cabbage was legendary. She also made an outrageous Saurbratten.

RE: Your Favorite Harmonica songs

The best blues harp player ever.

RE: A question for the Americans.

This is like the pot calling the kettle black. You Brits think we're wrong to pronounce it Aluminum while you pronounce Hurricane as Hurricin and you say CONtroversial which is correct but you go on to say conTROVercy which is wrong. You people can't even say a cuppa tea, you say a coop a tay. And when are you gonna learn to pronounce your R's and T's in the word BETTER? It's not pronounced BEH AH.

RE: Is the world imperfect in the eyes of God?

I don't think luck had squat to do with it. I think it was the ability to adapt and learn how to live and survive in a very hostle unforgiving environment where you either kill to eat or be killed and eaten.

RE: Is the world imperfect in the eyes of God?

God is imperfect because the men who created him were themselves imperfect.

Hey Canada, get your geese in order

I know exactly why there are Syrian Refugees and it has nothing to do with American foreign policy. It has everything to do with the Government of Syria bombing its own people plus a few other little problems the Syrian people are dealing with like terrorists saturating their country.
Me thinks you missed the whole point of my thread.

Hey Canada, get your geese in order

I traveled to Canada with my family when I was 15 for 2 weeks. I met Micheline in Quebec and fell in love.
At 17 I went again with my uncle and spent 6 weeks with Micheline and her aunt and uncle, they spoke almost no English and I spoke as much French. Back again to Ontario to a drag race with a business partner and 2 race cars in my late 20's. Then to Montreal & Quebec on my honeymoon. The last time for 2 weeks to Ontario as a consultant/trainer for a start-up service business.
On every trip I was made to feel welcome in my neighbor country and have come to love Canada. That is why I'm surprised to learn about this misdirected aspect of Canadian benevolence.
I have no doubt the same condition exists in the US though probably not as much.

"If we do this for Syrians, this outpouring of affection and generosity Canadians have shown, then let's step up to the plate at home. We need to embrace domestically what we so readily do internationally."
