RE: Would Donald Trump make a good President

BTW, I think Trump would be a disaster as a president. He's admired by Vladimir Putin and Sarah Palin. That alone should be enough to disqualify him. The latest thing he's saying is "The silent majority is back" He is anything but silent and he's far from the majority! He's a bombastic loud mouth and a 1% percenter, exactly what we don't need. With Donald Trump in the WH, I see the demise of the Grand Old Party (GOP) and America's standing in the world will be tarnished to such an extent that it will take a decade to get back to where we are today. That is assuming he doesn't get us into WW3. I can imagine a President Trump seriously considering nuking the entire Middle East with devastating global consequences. He says "The silent majority is going to take our country back". Back from who? It's the same as people who use the word "They" but are unable to say who "They" are.

Donald Trump is supposedly a sucessful businessman even though he's inherited his wealth and didn't work for it. From wiki.

"A native of New York City, he is the son of Fred Trump, who inspired him to enter real estate development. Trump worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son, while studying business at Wharton, and joined the company in 1968 upon graduation. In 1971, he was given control of the company, (age 25) and renamed it "The Trump Organization". He has since built a number of hotels, golf courses, and other properties in Manhattan and other global cities, many of which bear his name."
Search the "Wharton School" and see where a rich priviledged NYC kid goes to school.
I can't help wondering how many poor people lost their land and homes so the "Trump Organization" could build their casinos. I wonder too if Trump is buddy buddy with another casino operator which preys on people who can least afford it, Sheldon Adelson.

RE: Would Donald Trump make a good President

I have 3 reasons for thinking it's a .22 as opposed to a BB rifle.
1, You don't normally find a BB gun with a scope.
2, I see no pump lever on it and that grip in her Left hand doesn't appear to have enough stroke to act as a pump.
3, The overall construction is too robust for a BB gun.

ZIKA Virus

Stay out of South and Central America and Mexico if you are female and pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant. Also, Learn about the life of the Mosquito and how it breeds and how to control it or at least how NOT to provide them with a place to lay their eggs. A Mosquito needs only a tiny amount of water in which to lay her egg rafts. 1 egg raft, about the size of a grain of rice, can contain around 135 eggs.

RE: Would Donald Trump make a good President

That's a .22 rifle with a 4X scope.

RE: What is Poverty?

I've had ketchup spaghetti a few times.

RE: What is Poverty?

It's funny what people equate to poverty. In my childhood I have to say we were living in poverty. Amazing as I grew up in the heart of New York City, Manhattan to be exact. You learn to survive. Things like old playing cards placed in your shoe to cover the hole in the sole. or jumping the turnstyles to get onto a subway train before the door closes. Or walking a few miles downtown to Bloomingdales and opening taxicab doors for the swells for tips. I've eaten sandwiches out of garbage cans. We were on welfare and at school there were 2 lines in the cafeteria. One was for kids like me who got free lunch. I guess that made it easier for the cashier but it didn't spare the poor kids the stigma. We weren't allowed to have a TV because that was considered a luxury so we had to hide it in the closet when the investigator from the welfare dept came around. They weren't obligated to announce their visit but there was a network on our block and the moment Mr. Immagute set foot on our block the word went out and everybody on welfare knew he was there. ha ha funny, they thought they were so clever.

RE: Which fruit eaten by our ancestors adam and eve???

Imaginary fruit.

It's snowing

Ground level air temp is 38f 7c. Wind is from the North about 3 MPH.
That is all.

RE: Bank Balance Wellness Meter

Sorry babe but your numbers are a little off. Nobody is going to give you a loan for 1.9% not even on a 30 years fixed rate mortgage. Plus you can get a lot more than 3.5% if you know where to look. The other thing is it costs money to make these transactions (commissions). Everybody takes a little taste. You have to account for the costs.

RE: Paganism

Mike, I went the same route as you except my dad didn't whip me with a clutch cable, he just wasn't around. I'm not sure which is worse, a brute like your dad or an absent one like mine.

RE: Syrian refugees in Canada

Wont play here.

What are you worth?

What about that hat? It's got to be worth something.dunno

Matters involving Oil

I was a stamp collector from age 10 until I sold everything about 10 years ago. Probably didn't make any money because I missed the top of the market around 1980 when interest rates were pushing 20%. People around that time drove the price of stamps, coins, art, anything collectable to unheard of heights. Then it all came crashing down. I waited about 20 years for stamp prices to claw their way back out of the depths when I finally unloaded.
I would never buy gold. I think it's nothing but a headache.

What are you worth?

If a person dies without assigning their worldly possessions to their children or whoever, the state takes everything and your kids get nothing. Also, most people wouldn't want to burden their loved ones with having to decide who gets what. This can get ugly and cause riffs in a family. I believe this happens quite often.

What I've done is take a clipboard and go through my house room by room and list everything and assign a value to it as if I were buying it used at a tag sale. I try to be as honest as possible.
Next to the item I put the name of the person who I think rightfully should have it based on their likes and needs. I put it all in a spreadsheet and sort it by name. I then total up the value each person gets. The only thing that doesn't get divided is the house. The house is sold and the equity is divided by the number of my heirs.
Then a formula is applied whereby the one who got the most value in possessions get the least cash from the house and so on. This way everybody gets exactly the same value in either cash and/or goods.
No muss no fuss.

What are you worth?

I mean what are you actually worth as though you died and all your worldly possessions were added up at fair market value. Including your furniture, vehicles, bank accounts, personal possessions like clothes, dishes, tools, house, stocks, appliances, etc.

How will you divvie up everything when you reach the end of the road?

RE: Harney County Ocupation.

I think the Hammonds had every right to protect their land from a wild fire, however They screwed up because they bit off more than they could chew or they didn't have the experience, the equipment or manpower to manage a controlled burn. As a result the fire got out of their control and destroyed a lot of trees. I think a charge of Arson is a little extreme being it was basically an accident like making a camp fire when there's too much wind and embers get blown away.

The Bundys are just self rightious rabble rousers who hate the government and IMO they are breaking the law and should be arrested.
This will not end well I predict.

"El Chapo" Guzmán has been caught....Again

Don't be too sure that Sean Penn wasn't working for the Mexican and American authorities in an elaborate sting operation to draw Guzman out where they could get a hook into him. I'm sure, if I'm right, there'll be a staged series of events involving Penn and the law with which to appease the masses and shield Penn from retribution by the drug cartels. In the end he will be acquitted of all charges and after he passes on the truth will come out that he was in fact a hero.

I was joking, sort of, about putting El Chapo in the same cell he broke out of. At least they put him in the same prison. I wonder if he has updated blueprints so he can find his way from his new cell to the tunnel? I wouldn't be surprised if by now they have a refrigerator full of beer and some sandwiches down there.

"El Chapo" Guzmán has been caught....Again

I wonder if the Mexican authorities will put him back in the same cell he occupied last time? I mean after all, it already has a very nice tunnel already constructed. The tunnel even has a little motorcycle for "Shorty" to ride so he doesn't have to walk the mile long tunnel.

Matters involving Oil

Thanks but I steer clear of MLP's Not my style of investing. I'm more into Corp & Muni bond funds. I'm well positioned for a rebound in oil prices maybe TOO well positioned if you get my drift. 2015 has been a tough year as I'm sure you are aware. Better days are ahead I think.

Matters involving Oil

When I lived on a farm I had a Renault Black Beauty R5. One day a friend of my then wife called and asked if I could go to town and pick up her RX at the Pharmacy because her driveway was covered with about 6" of snow and she couldn't get out. I got her RX and delivered it to her and noticed a 4WD pickup in the driveway. I asked how come she couldn't just drive to town in that? She said because the rear wheels just keep spinning. rolling on the floor laughing
I said didn't you put it in 4 wheel drive? She said yes but when I asked did you lock the front hubs she said, "What is that?"
I locked the hubs for her and went home.

Matters involving Oil

It would be great if I was still working as a truck driver alas I'm not getting any benifit from the crash in oil/gas prices.sigh

Matters involving Oil

90% of the revenue of Alaska is earned from oil sales.
Alaska is instituting an Income Tax for the first time in 40 years due wholly to low oil prices.

Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company in the world, accounts for 10% of global oil production.

Saudi Arabia continues to pump oil at record levels to regain lost market share, and punish Russia and America in a manner similar to a monkey with its hand stuck in a jar because it refuses to let go of a fist full of candy. Meanwhile The low price of oil they created in doing so actually has put the country in debt and has decimated their financial reserves. doh

Certainly in America, and possibly other places, short sighted, self absorbed, Yuppy types are altering their transportation choices from small fuel efficient cars to pickup trucks and SUV's. They apparently think historically low oil prices are here to stay.confused

RE: hillary

So, which Republican are you favoring to be the candidate?
I voted for Hillary in the primarys when she ran against Obama. Most Democrats will do anything to get Bill Clinton back in the White House even as "First Gentleman".

RE: Germany suffers the result of Angela Merkel's decision

Merkel outsmarted herself. In an attempt to increase the population of young working people who support an aging population, Ms Merkel greatly under estimated the size of the Syrian refugee problem when she decided to open the door to the millions of Syrians fleeing their homeland due to the mass murdering actions of the psychopathic ruler of Syria, Bashar al-Assad. Bashar learned from his psychopathic father Hafez al-Assad who was a mass murderer in his own right.
Merkel thought she would solve a problem and probably be heralded as a great leader but instead she created an even bigger problem than the one she was trying to fix. Now she is viewed as an idiot by the rest of Europe and the world. Lately she is trying to get the rest of Europe and the west to help her to undo the problem she created through her ignorance.

RE: Bank Balance Wellness Meter

I have a clothes dryer but almost never use it. Give me a clothesline any day. I just can't wrap my head around paying to dry clothes when nature does it for free. How many tons of coal wouldn't need to be burned or nuclear power plants could be shut down if everybody on earth used a clothesline?

RE: post the tempature in Russia

This is an interesting read.

RE: post the tempature in Russia

My weather report was more descriptive I think.
BTW, why is this in a Religion thread?

RE: post the tempature in Russia

Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

RE: Bank Balance Wellness Meter

I have 2 questions.
1, If you applied for a loan from a bank, what wouild the interest rate be?
2, If you put the same amount of money into a savings acct, how much interest would the bank pay you?
