Do you own any stocks?

I'm just looking for somebody to talk investing with. I've been involved in Wall St since 1967.

My Pledge of Allegiance

I've given this a lot of thought and decided that it doesn't make much sense to pledge allegiance to a piece of cloth no matter how pretty it may be. Therefore I dicided to rewrite the pledge that I have been reciting since I was about 10 years old. To me a far more importent item to pledge allegiance to, is a document of great importence, the one that enshrines our American identity and protects us as a nation. Here it is.

I pledge allegiance,
to the Constitution
of the United States of America,
and to the Democratic Republic
for which it Stands and Protects.
One nation, Indivisible,
with Liberty, Equality, and Justice
for all American Citizens.

RE: Can you find it?

Excuse me?

RE: Can you find it?

Instead of the number 8 on the clock there's a letter B.

RE: Movies, your favorite(s) and why?

Sorry Galrads I've never even heard of it.

RE: Movies, your favorite(s) and why?

I have a spreadsheet with 374 movies listed. I've rated all of them from 1 to 5. 1 being the lowest and 5 the highest rating. 13 movies are unrated. I list 1 movie which I gave a 6 rating to which is even stranger because this movie isn't even in English, it's Japanese, it's B/W with subtitles and it's 3 1/2 hours long. I'm sure some of you will be able to guess the name of this movie.

RE: Do you drive? If so...describe it.

My main ride is a 2000 Mazda Protege that I bought from my son. As an ex foreign car mechanic there's nothing on the car I can't fix if need be, including the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes. The car's got over 200,000 miles on it.

RE: If you had the opportunity to 'vacation' in space, who would you take with you, and why?

I would prefer somebody who owned an Oxygen tank.

RE: Any hummingbird fans out there?

You're throwing your money away Galrads, 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 cups of water makes the perfect Hummingbird mixture. The red dye they added serves no purpose either.

RE: Any hummingbird fans out there?

One more thing. Hummers head to warmer climes when the weather turns cold, maybe they just haven't come back to your area yet. BTW, what are you putting in that feeder?

RE: Any hummingbird fans out there?

Looking at your picture I see 2 potential problems 1, the feeder might be too close to that wall thus fear of being attacked, maybe move it away from any structure. 2, that water hose looks like a snake and could be frightening them away. I've had a Hummingbird feeder hanging from my clothesline for at least 15 years, in fact I saw a Hummer at it just today.

"Wonderfaith" Anybody recall this screenname?

I tried searching for her name but came up empty.

RE: Which 'person' are you? Which is your favourite...pet?

I'm basically a cat person but growing up in Manhattan at about 14 I had a wonderful dog named Jackie, a Boston Terrier.

RE: Are YOU Religious ?

RE: inder or elp?

MAIN OFFICE

CO is the abbreviation for company, and AAG is an insurance Co. that specializes in Reverse Mortgages.
I had a Reverse Mortgage at one time but no longer.

MAIN OFFICE

If you get a letter from a CO. with this name, it's an offer from AAG for a Reverse Mortgage.

RE: My Taste In Music

First of all, it's not called Poke Salad in the area where it's best known namely the southern US. It's Poke Sallet. Here's a little history of the potentially poisonous plant.

RE: Your specialised subject .

RE: country music

@ GLTW, Another John Prine fan I see. thumbs up

RE: country music

Only a genius could come up with a song like this. This is the original and best version of this song.

RE: The 70s

I saw John Prine at the "Bottom Line" in Greenwich Village in New York City back in the 70's. I think he finally got his wish.

RE: Do you like Christmas?

When I was a kid 12 or 13 YO, living in the upper east side of Manhattan, me and some friends would go down to Bloomingdales a few times during the Xmas holidays and open taxicab doors for shoppers in hopes of getting some tips. That's one of the things I liked about Xmas. And presents of course. Sometimes me, my mother and older brother and sister would go out to Long Island and have Xmas dinner with my much older brothers family. That was one of the rare times I got to have a great meal. Some years my father would come and bring us some Xmas presents. That was like a double blessing, seeing him, and getting some goodies. These days I don't even celebrate Xmas.

RE: Obama

Obama was one of the best Presidents this country ever had.

RE: Would you get married to an atheist partner?

Both of my ex wives did.

RE: Just wondering how many people are home alone for Thanksgiving??

in da woods, I'll see your Bobby Darin and raise you a Fats Domino!

RE: Which Genre Movies Do You Like To Watch?

I have a spreadsheet with almost 400 movies listed. I've given every one a rating
from 1 to 5 stars. There is 1 movie which I had to break my own rule by giving it 6 stars. The irony of it is this movie is not even in English, but Japanese with subtitles. It is also in B&W. I'm sure there are some here who can guess which movie this is.
