steelman I came on site for same 2 reasons as you. I have made a few real life friends from CS and other sites,male and female. This site have received much mail and flowers but,it's quality not quanity,here I have met 1 man that we got something going online,but long distance between us and couldn't agree about how/where to meet. I have been on here over 3 yrs.,first 8 months I was in forums alot,tried to get Oh. get-together going twice, read profiles,sent mail and whatever. I have met some fine people here where we just talk on site or im. It takes awhile to be loved or hated on any site. Many people don't care about photo ratings. Not everyone is rating for right reason. Most of us in forums didn't like when they started the photo rating. Be confidant,like you, know in your heart you are worthy of what your looking for,give it time. You can be alone and not be lonely and you can have a partner and be lonely and hurt and frustrated etc.,food for thought. I have to digest that thought every now and then to be ok.

Most experts say don't bring up past relationships,at least in the beginning. I have found most men do not want to hear about so&so. If it grows into a steady thing,then in time past people in our lives come up somehow. I personally don't mind a gentleman sharing about his ex for example if he was really tore up or he really tore her up and is sorry. I can listen,but if he whines on and on constantly about her or others from the past,it's like "Hey,what am I chopped liver?". Let us disscuss us as a possibility.
Every person is different so I would not talk about the one or ones before unless a specific reason to. Not until you get to know the one you are with and can talk openly and ask ?'s. JMO

Mine speaks for itself. However this was my first dating site. Found it doesn't keep the gamers away,changed it on other sites to ablessedlady,simply because I am and am thankful.
Then my real name which many here know Coco,is often beleived by men who write and I return mail that I won't use my name I tell them I could sign,Susie or Rhonda?????

Can't answer specific ?'s,sorry.
I do have an opinion about it. I think "true love" is just an exppressin people use,actually meaning,having someone who loves them and visia versa and they have a great relationship and romance. Or mean,finding the person they will be with forever.
Many others,but I wouldn't take it bad if someone wants true love. Why not ask the person who says/writes it to you what they mean?

Look up profiles,find someone with same interests as you and write about that in mail
Be honest in profile and in mail.
Have patience,Lord knows many of us here have never got any,or have got few flowers or mail. Best to you.

If you would have said women and left out the word beautiful,I may have something nice to say,but you sound as prejudice as the "beautiful women who pass you by. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me it's the inner beauty not the outer crust your born in. That's my thoughts,you asked.

I am independent in some ways and stubborn now and then about getting my way. However I always have been the way I am. I find that comprimise can be reached on some issues and then his having his independent side, that always work for me.We can have our sharing interests and our separate ones. As long as we can truly communicate,like and love each other,all will work out.
Now alone,there are times I wish I had someone to give me a big hug before bed,or someone to hold me when I get bad news. I am far from totally independent. You should see when I decided I could paint my own bathroom, really big mistake.

Okay this time got the point,it is on sharing feelings about you and another with others in forum,right? Misunderstood sorry.
I have never had a serious one on one on any site where we were both known to tothers in general. I did see someone from this a site, and it was going well.We met soon after site since living close. If it would have turned out to be love on both sides and we agreed to share with others who knew us,for sure.We all like to read happy things and know others have found love. It didn't get far enough to where I would bring it up in forums.If he wanted too,up to him,never discussed it. It was nice while it was there and it ended amicably so no good gossip.So if we became an item then again we would agree to shout to all other members or wait to see where it went.

Hope I made God happy,I think so.Had to do with way I handled a potentially explosive situation with 2 neighbors.

I made me happy because everyday I awake seeing,hearing,being able to get out of bed and count my blessings,then I am happy, usually am. Do have my and times,I am human.

So far other than a stray cat,my own 3 feline boys,and a quick encouragement to a pen pal who appreciated it. That's it.

Am tring to go breathe freely= quit smoking. I am hooked and am soing cut down method. I smoke Niagra menthols because they are the cheapest mail order generics on the list. In the old days,20 yrs. ago and before,smoked Salems.

As I have written,well typed and said verbally many times, I am real.I am myself,no more,no less. So am same in cyberspace as in what we call "real life". I am careful,cautious at times,friendly,forgiving etc.. I am what I am(profound ).Whether online or in person,I will share my honest feelings,sometimes have to be careful where and with whom of course. However I am thick skinned when it comes to someone hurting me,they can only if I allow them too. Only I control what I do with my feelings. I usually say what I mean and if it is not reciprocated,that's okay. I want the truth as well as giving it. To some I am slower to open up about myself,then others get the 54yrs. in a short version. I want to know what another thinks or feels about me,good or bad if it matters at all. At least I know where I stand. I respect the truth as long as it is given in a non-abrasive way.

I have no wish to control anyone except myself and I have to work at that sometimes. Do you think anyone who does try to control in threads will admit to it with an honest yes?
I feel for those who lack adequacys elsewhere and feel a need to control.They are not happy campers on the inside no matter how much they laugh or joke on the outside.

Unless you have been there,you really do not know what you would,feel,think or do. I hope to God known of you or anyone has to face that decision. Sadly reality dictates it does and will happen. Just never want to know anyone else who has been through that situation again.
