Wasn't even worth the price at $1.... go figure.

RE: Have you bought anything lately ...

Well, well... ah hummm....

I have 4 TV's running 24 hours a day:
3 for home shopping channels plus 2 computers online

#1 set to QVC....
#2 set HSN....
#3 set to ShopHQ...
#4 set to normal broadcasting...

On first name basis with Fedex driver...

On first name basis with UPS driver
(also asks for my consult of personal/family matters)...

On first name basis with several postal carriers...
(also asked for my opinions on matters)

So, you could say I do a little product ordering/purchasing.
Now, I'm wondering if I would be a good candidate for looking for and ordering a "mail order bride"... hug hahaha, only if I could get "FREE SHIPPING and HANDLING" included!

Have a good day,
~JOHN~cheers

RE: Would you date a red-head?

Hell yea.....

I've only dated 2 or 3 in my lifetime... but considered it a privilege. Some of my most memorable dates...

Not ruling out other hair color, of which there are great memories as well.
But, to me... there is just that "something" about a redhead, that I can't post here.
(this is a family site, right?) hahaha

Bottom line, hair color makes no difference, it's in their personalities or as the old song says: It's in (his/her) kiss by: Betty Everett 1964

RE: Is vaping (electronic cigarette) still being considered a "smoker"?

Smoking, is smoking... no matter if weed, tobacco, crack, mari-ja-wanna, dirt, grass from your backyard, or chemicals in an electric device... it's all "still smoking". What part of "smoking" is so hard to understand. Smoke them blues away.... Have a good day everybody...

Take the money, and run... run for your lives...

Diatomaceous Earth? Anyone tried this?

Or, here is another link, in case the one above doesn't work.

Diatomaceous Earth? Anyone tried this?

My order of Diatomaceous Earth (DE) was delivered yesterday afternoon (Fedex).
This was a 50lb bag... and suggested direction of taking at least 1 tsp daily to start with.

Description:
di·a·to·ma·ceous earth
noun
a soft, crumbly, porous sedimentary deposit formed from the fossil remains of diatoms.

Out of a 50lb bag of this powder-like stuff, I wondered just how many tsp were in a 50lb bag. But that's another story, I'll figure that out, when I have nothing better to do.

With all the positive reviews, and testimonials... I feel that it will be OK to try. Wondering if it would help with my diabetes, either directly/indirectly.

Let me know if any of you have tried this, or what your thought is on it. I'm including a link to a site, that has some good info about it.

CLICK the square on the left, and it will take you to a web page with more info about the stuff..

Tomato and Rose, dwelling together.

Hey Carol, hope your day is going well. The Marigolds, I had heard about... when I was arguing with the local squirrels around here. But, I think I have that issue under control now...

I tried to include as much humor as I could, but still remain serious.

I did learn an important lesson: "not to give up, solutions are available".

Afternoon, CC....
I'm enjoying it, more each day. But, actually didn't think of putting 2 completely different plants. But, I guess... bottom line... a plant is a plant, is a plant, is a plant!

I may have to pick your brain, later... for some tips...

Have a great day... ~JOHN~bouquet

Tomato and Rose, dwelling together.

Haven't tried growing any garlic... (yet)

Hi and good morning Carol.

I wasn't sure it would work, but common sense whispered in my ear: "do it, do it!" Then I figured, what the heck... couldn't hun anything, beings that the limb was already severed anyway.

You have a great day, and holler anytime.

Hey... looks like you have a pretty good garden going there according to the pic's.
This is my first year at planting anything, but still learning...
Would welcome additional tips and conversations of our gardens/plants.

oops... I was thinking tomato... the rose should be a go as well....

Tomato and Rose, dwelling together.

Scott, just go for it... read info on growing them, and just do it. And if you got squirrels that want to rob you of your plants... that can be addressed too... good luck..

Tomato and Rose, dwelling together.

It already has... this evening I found a baby tomato, (size of the fingernail on a pinky finger)... so it should be a go... even had to "stake" the limb, to keep it from falling over on the rose...bouquet

Tomato and Rose, dwelling together.

New, taken today 7/28...
This is my Crimson Bouquet rose. To the right, you will notice a larger vertical stem, with a small yellow (flower) tomato bud.

Explanation:
My tomato plant had an accident, so I had to amputate the damaged limb! It was an emergency issue... now I needed to do something with the dismembered limb.

So, I looked far and wide for a suitable solution... I looked high, and I looked low... wondering how can I save this tomato plant limb. So, I spotted an opening in one of my larger pots... "ah ha"... just maybe an answer. So, very delicately, I proceed to implant the tomato plant limb, into the open space, deep into the soil in the pot, right along and beside the rose plant.

NOW, the waiting begins! Only time would tell, at this point, if this shared pot of soil would support the rose AND the tomato plant, in unisense... final product of each would still be "red" in color, and the stems are of the same green color...

Waiting, patiently... after several nerve tolerated days and nights... to see if there would be any miraculous improvement. FINALLY... signs of acceptance of the severed limb, by the Crimson Rose.... Whew, close call!

Fighting the squirrels...

My favorite quick sandwiches. I like the Lettuce, Tomato, & Bacon using the toasted Texas toast bread... and maybe some "Tater Tots" and iced tea on the side...

Fighting the squirrels...

Hey Carol, thanks for the suggestions.

#1... I have the plants hanging from an eyehook, under the eave of the roof. The planters are set back away from the edge of the eave, towards the side of the house. (actually leaning against the house) I also have included a wire screen nailed/attached upright as a barrier, to the edge of the eave, right above the planters. The planters are far enough back away from the edge, that to get to them from above... the squirrel would be more than half way out, so even the gravity would pull it away from the plants, even if it jumped.

#2... There is no way for the squirrel to have anything to "slide" down on. Hence, the eyehook.

#3... The aphid, is no problem so far... dusting and spraying takes care of that.

Just saying, as much as I love a good tomato.....
With 1 in the refrigerator, have eaten 1 at breakfast, and 1 last night for supper, and 1 for lunch and 4 still on the window sill to finish ripening, and 21 still on the vine....still growing... Wheew! Did someone say they were good for you? haha

Fighting the squirrels...

hahaha,
That was a good comparison of the parallel lives that some seem to lead with the squirrel, or was it the squirrel that led the parallel events? Does it really matter, nah! But, either way... "fire one tomato, fire another tomato"? Really...? Can I afford the ammunitions? Especially after all the effort/work already invested? Nah... not really!

Peace is now at "Tomato Hill"... time for a quick sandwich (tomato, of course).
