She may have already known about it. But her way to deal with it was to live in denial. It might go away all by itself. By you stating it in words, out loud, you made it real and something she would have to deal with.
Plus, sometimes people don't really want the truth, or they may not be strong enough to take it. You have to use your judgement at times to know what is best in a given circumstance.
Spellcheck can make you lazy if you already know how to spell the words. You can just lazily type a close version of the word, rather than taking the trouble to spell it properly, knowing that the corrected word will show up.
But I agree that you learning the correct spelling of a word due to seeing it on spellcheck is a good thing
Ensuring that you have the correct English version for your country is important too.
Ireland is independent. Although some of the British government acts like it is still colonised by England. It is not. It is only 6 counties of 32 counties still under British law. I just wanted to clear that up.
Of course some areas of England voted to remain, as some areas probably do better from international companies and/or foreign export open to them as a member of the EU than they would if they were depending on domestic sales alone.
I'm sure you meant Stormont, the NI Assembly as opposed to the Irish government which is very functional.
And no, there is no functional way for commerce to run as normal unless a proper deal is made. That is why the Backstop was agreed as an insurance policy for NI.
But I will give you one example of a major omission in knowledge prior to the first vote.
Were people informed that due to the Good Friday Agreement, that no changes could be made to the political situation of Northern Ireland unless, and this is of huge importance, the majority of the people of Northern Ireland vote in favour of that change?
Leaving the EU is a massive change.
The people of NI did not vote to leave. They voted to stay.
That means that there was no majority so no change could be made.
Scotland also voted to stay but they do not have any legally binding agreement.
The people of the country of England voted to leave and because the majority of the entire population of the UK live in England, the overall vote to leave was 52%.
But that still does not take away from the fact that NI voted to stay and a majority there is needed to make a change.
What should have been done is to have had a vote in NI alone and if they voted to leave, then put it to the island of Great Britain.
That is one of the reasons of the turmoil the UK now finds itself in.
I also feel very sorry for the small businesses and farmers who will be totally excluded from the single market now, and will have to try and sell their produce to countries where the cost of living is much cheaper, and thus food is cheaper.
Yeah I have. If you want to go somewhere, just do it. There are fabulous places to go in the world. It would be a shame to not see them because you are waiting for a non-existent person to go there with you.
Kids are going to get pocket money either way, so they might as well be paid for doing chores. I had my first savings account opened for me at 10 and I was encouraged to save regularly. I still have the same account and still use it.
RE: Seriously CS where has the fun gone? Fun place, get to know, talk about anything, chit chat, joke.
You go girl!
