Many interesting folks on the threads with strong opinions

Yes these forums have a diverse number of characters with great wit along with good debating skills and as long as we are debating and not trying to manipulate or personally attack others we can all enjoy the experience.

I say be diplomatic when discussing subjects and let your debating skills shine on.

We all have people we don't get on with in life and the term "agree to disagree" is best, but let's not forget that once that term has been used I think the argument should end their.

Many have claimed on here that I don't run a fair thread and only accept comments of folks who agree with me, but they could not be further from the truth, because when I create a subject matter I welcome others to contribute and a prime example is the thread I created "is it wrong to not want children" Very good people on that thread and a diverse number of differing opinions which made it a very good read for all.

I'm not suggesting that all my threads are easy subjects to discuss and some may get a few who go out of their way to cause trouble on them,but that is what the ban feature is for and before you start saying I am trigger happy with the ban feature I say that the creator of the thread is also the moderator of that thread.

I for one like the ban feature, because there are far too many threads to moderate, so the site has decided to give the creator the responsibility and some people seem to forget that when they attack the creator of the thread.

The creator of the thread is free to ban people if they are getting personal with them or other folks contributing, straying from the subject matter or trying to make a mockery of the subject matter, because without order the threads would sometimes get out of control and a lot of people would be abused and upset.

Don't take it personally if you are banned from a thread, because sometimes we get carried away when debating and don't know when to stop, but that is the time when the moderator has to step in.

I have never ever been banned from a thread, because I have always shown respect to the creator of that thread whether I agree with them or not.

I enjoy reading a diverse number of differing comments and a friendly debate on the subject created.

I am as long as they are not personal attacks on myself or others characters,manipulative comments trying to get others to agree,slander of others characters,copy and paste segments from previous blogs or threads,pointless comments making a mockery of the thread created or any other comments that cause trouble on the thread.

When an argument looks like it is getting out of hand do you as the moderator of the thread and thread creator, let it continue or ban those involved?

I would not let it continue.

If those involved in an argument that got out of hand contacted you to apologise and said that they would behave and asked you to let them rejoin the debate... would you allow them to rejoin the debate or leave them banned?

It's not happened yet with the one's I banned in previous threads so I assume they know they were in the wrong, but if they were to apologise I would most likely give them a second chance as long as they were not personal attacks on myself or others characters,manipulative comments trying to get others to agree,slander of others characters,copy and paste segments from previous blogs or threads,pointless comments making a mockery of the thread created or any other comments that cause trouble on the thread.

I have nothing further to say on this subject and you can turn a blind eye to the gangs on here if you want and I'm beyond caring now.

I seem to be the only one to have the courage to say anything, so if you become a target of them don't bother coming crying to me, because you had your chance to speak out and you are on your own now....

Dragos, Thank you for your post it is very informative and yes many children are waiting to be adopted by a loving family, but obvious the parents must be willing to do all the hard work involved in bringing up a child and they will spend the rest of their lives helping that child even in adulthood, so it is a enormous commitment.

Cyn, Thank you a Very strong post from you and yes I agree totally, but in my situation it does not apply, because my girlfriend is far too old to have anymore children and I'm very happy with her, so I won't be shopping around anytime soon for a young lady to bare my children

Why judge them just because they choose not to have children? Don't forget some can't have children and do they repulse you too?

I commend women who speak their minds and are brave enough to admit they don't want children or never wanted children, because the truth is not everybody does.

Ob, That is freedom of choice and it's our own individual choice if we have children or not and because the world is overpopulated anyway it does not make a difference if we don't.

These nasty gangs will use any tactic they can think of including making up lies about a person, twisting a persons words to suit themselves, ganging up one after the other on the victim and making the claim they are not a gang in the same sentence as belittling the victim, some know what they are doing and some just think they are defending their so called friends,they will send gang members onto a blog or thread that shines a light on them to get it removed ,because they are afraid of people waking up to the truth.

without the members commenting and viewing their threads or blogs they are no longer significant, so they resort to anything to stop that from happening.

It's very sad that people behave in this way and that is the reality of the internet I guess

"Wow" Some of the gang came at me all guns blazing in the blog I wrote and I had to delete it, because I did not want the hassle, but it just goes to show you that I was right about there being gangs on this site run by ignorant, arrogant, self serving bullies and many against one is hard odds for anyone to face, so I guess my days of blogging are over now, because the gang will see to that.

Yes I agree immigration is another huge problem in the world and greedy self serving politicians along with bankers are also another problem, but I won't open that can of worms at this moment

Yes I can totally understand your point of view, because you have got children and you believe it is right to have them, but you also accept that your son has decided not to have children and that makes you one of the good guys in my book

Do you not notice the way society pushes people around these days and it influences almost every aspect of our lives? The BBC news shows death, murder and destruction on a daily basis to the young innocents of this world, children are being pushed too hard to achieve at school at such a young age that they never get a chance to enjoy the simple, fun and adventurous things our generation did, computers, mobile phone, ipods etc have taken over the child's activity time and they are becoming antisocial, all the teenage pregnancies, the binge drinking, the profanities that these teenagers use are simply shocking, the "I want it now attitude" they have and the lack of respect they show to their elders, but the list goes on and on......

I understand the implications of not having children mean's that my mother and father will never have grand children and the family name would not continue into another generation

when it comes down to it I must put myself first and I will continue to be happy with my much older girlfriend who is beyond the age to have anymore children now, but has adult children along with grandchildren to keep her happy, so I will never have pressure from her to have children!
