RE: Who are more social?

Although can you imagine a political world of women and what insights this would bring?

For instance I never knew that the reason for the Iraq war was because the armchair was too close to the patio doors. I also never knew that global poverty had anything to do with astrology. And that new first line cancer treatment on the NHS - the healing power of crystal skulls - can not be faulted by anybody.

RE: Who are more social?

Very true. A fact for which we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief, the world's not all bad sometimes.

RE: Who are more social?

You can prattle for England, Peach, we know that

RE: Who are more social?

That's it with men. There's almost always some reason, or some shared activity, for us to bother to socialise with one another. We don't socialise purely for the sake of socialising.

And men are much of the type to not shut up about one or a few subjects - I do it with politics - but outside of these subjects, barely say anything at all.

RE: Who are more social?

When was the last time one of your guy friends called you up just for a chat?

RE: What are your conditions to believe in God ?

Absolutely, "religion is the cause of all wars" is one of the silliest things I've ever heard. And you're right, Atheism oftentimes comes with that lazy thinking and sneering, ironic take on everything that I would say encapsulates everything wrong with the modern world.

RE: would you date someone if he's family won't accept you because of your skin color?

I've had it with two Jewish girls I've dated. I was shocked at the start(who in their right mind would turn down these genetics??)but then I didn't care. If anything their Dad's disapproval just made them sleep with me even sooner.

RE: "jihadi brides'..... so much for British Border Control......

You have to feel sorry for the families involved, but if that's how the girls think then I'm glad they're over there and not here.

Besides why should we be concerned for their safety when we're closing down A & E departments and special schools and our soldiers are hanging themselves? They made their choice.

RE: wars of greed

That's directed at groups such as Occupy. The *ahem* 99% who are in fact the 50-99% who demand even more privileges than they already enjoy just because some people are more successful than they are. If anyone warrants a beef with the have-yachts then it's the have-nots, not the bourgeois have-somethings of Occupy who want more of something by offering nothing.

RE: wars of greed

There are times when this does annoy me - such as footballers. We throw money at Wayne Rooney when he's worth nothing compared to me or you and he'd happy with a tyre on a rope.

But in other respects we have to do everything we can to reward success(especially in an age where you can fail or underachieve quite comfortably)because in our economy/society it's the success of 1 which feeds the 9.

Ideally the elites would harbour a greater sense of noblesse oblige, and the sub-elites would learn to be grateful and recognise that even if they're employed they are all too often dependents sustained by the charity of those who create value.

RE: Innocence

What I'm trying to say is that intelligent and sophisticated people can be the most childish of jerks - But not me. Never.

RE: Innocence

Their utter lack of pretense is offensive to the smugly smug. What the more sophisticated do is look down on the simple for being factually inaccurate whilst ignoring the fact that they are ten times the men and women that they will ever be.

Near everybody intelligent has this smuggish and vain intellect - my own is no less diminished by the fact that I turn smuggishness against smuggishness itself in an act of inverted smuggery. Many sophisticated people have described me as an intellectual caveman because of this. Intelligent but organic; what an intellectual would sound like if he or she was streetwise and earthy: The articulate prole.

RE: Innocence

They'd be the sweet and simple types. The honest proles. I expect we'd belittle them for their lack of conceit, likely beliefs in god, and their general sense of reverence and humility.

RE: wars of greed

I've known penniless losers who were more evil than hoarding rich folk.

The source of all evil is our nature. We're born with evil appetites and to what extent we indulge in these is the measure of evil. The lack of control over our greed, avarice, envy, gluttony, sloth, vanity etc are the evils..

My opinion is that the losers in our permissive society focus on greed specifically because they embody all, many or at least one of the other evils outside of greed(simply because they are not successful enough for ostentatious greed). And as a reaction to the thinly-veiled envy of the trash you get those who do the equally mad thing of turning greed into a virtue.

RE: Where would you go on your first date

A movie. What better way to build rapport than to sit there not talking for two hours?

Or you could go for a meal. You want your first date venue to be as rigid and repressive as possible. I find the formality of the restaurant really hits the mark.

Up until a point it does, but then it's no longer about money; it's about the game.

RE: .........Hypocrisy........

Essentially when the adult world is full of lies and hypocrisy those that inherit the world lose respect for words and intellect. The Baby Boomers so severed the connection between words and actions and speech and behaviour that we've learned(mostly without realising)that it's not so good to talk: The very essence of cool today is in giving out the least information possible and cool itself matters in a way that it never has before(this fixation on cool is an example of how anti-geek we are - which is itself fascist-like).

RE: Polygami

Perhaps. Most people are not born the wrong gender, however.

It's complicated imo because players and manginas are both more like women than the typical man, but in wholly different ways.

Players adopt the woman's caprice and sense of entitlement and when they seduce women they mirror the way that women seduce men - players beat women at their own game.

Manginas attempt to copy a woman's softer side and usually do a poor job.

Average men do "guy stuff" like going fishing and communicating poorly.

RE: Life is a dream !!!

RE: Life is a dream !!!

I don't think you've understood what solipsism is.

Differing viewpoints on an external reality that independently exists is not solipsism. The moon looks different depending on where on earth you view it from, but the moon still exists when you're not looking at it. We interpret reality but we do not invent reality no matter what the Discovery channel says now that quantum mysticism is the latest simpleton fad.
