The man who did not have a computer.....................

Bob Doesn't Have A Computer
Bob is unemployed and applies for a job as a janitor at Microsoft.
A manager at Human Resources interviews him in detail then asks him to wipe a few floors as a test.
"OK," says the interviewer,
"you're hired. Just give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the necessary documents."
Bob says that he doesn't have a computer, so obviously has no e-mail address.
The Microsoft interviewer tells him that without an e-mail address he virtually doesn't exist, so the company is unable to hire him.
Disappointed and frustrated, Bob leaves the building with only 10 dollars in his pocket. He decides to go to the nearest supermarket and buy 10 pounds of tomatoes.
He sells the tomatoes door-to-door and within two hours has doubled his capital.
He repeats the process three times and ends up with 160 dollars.
Realizing that he can make a living this way, Bob works hard from early morning to late at night.
Every day, he doubles or even triples his capital.
After a short time, he buys a small van, then a truck, and soon he has an entire fleet for his deliveries.
Within 5 years, Bob has established one of the largest food retail chains in the USA.
He decides to think about his future and wants to get a financial plan drawn up for himself and his family.
He contacts a financial consultant and they compile a pension plan.
At the end of the discussion, the consultant asks Bob for his e-mail address in order to send him the corresponding documents, only to hear that Bob still does not own a computer and has no e-mail address.
"That's weird," says the consultant.
"You have built up a massive retail empire and you don't even have an e-mail address.
Just imagine what you would have achieved if you'd had a computer."
Bob thinks for a minute, then says:
"I'd be a janitor at Microsoft."

The mouse trap..........................

The mouse trap....................

There was a farm, where lived farmer John with his wife Molly. They hold pigs, cows and many animals in their farm. Also there lived a little mouse.

One day the mouse looked throught small crack in the wall and accidentially saw how the farmer was opening some package. The mouse was curious what food may it contain and discovered that it was a mousetrap.

The mouse was determined to run around the farmyard and warn all the animals regarding the danger.

First of all he met the chicken. „There is a mousetrap in the house!“ - the mouse declared with despair. But the chicken answered with indifference: „It doesn‘t concern me, as this is a danger for you, but not for me. It cannot bother me“.

Then the mouse raced to the pig and the cow and told them about the mousetrap. But the pig and the cow where not impressed too. They said that there is nothing to about this and promised to pray about the mouse.

Sad and depressed, the little mouse returned to the house.

In the night the farmer‘s wife Molly heard a sound of a mousetrap. She hurried to see what was in it, but due to the darkness she did not see that it was a poisonous snake, whose tail was caught by the trap. Suddenly the snake bit Molly.

The farmer rushed with her to the hospital. Later, when they returned home, Molly still had a fever. John remembered that it is good to treat a fever with chicken soup, so he went to his farmyard to bring the main ingridient, the chicken.

Whereas Molly‘s sickness continued and many friends came to visit her, the farmer butchered the pig so he could feed all the visitors.

Unfortunatelly, As time went by Molly became weaker and weaker and one day she died. Many neighbours, relatives and friends have arrived to the funeral. John had to slaughter the cow to feed all of them.

The mouse has been watching all that was happing with great sorrow.

Remember, when we learn that someone is facing difficulties or danger, we all are at risk. It is better to help and encourage one another and don‘t leave anyone alone with his problems.

Mercedes I always thought that breast cancer was very painful and would take heavy doses
of morphine but am happy for her if I am wrong wave Jenny

My younger sister is dying I have just been told..............

My younger sister is dying she was told she has only a few weeks to live.
Coby lives in the US, in a home, but now is in hospice
This is what I don’t understand.
The doctor found a large bruise on her breast and concluded that she had
advance breast cancer. No mammogram was taken.
Coby has not had a mammogram for years, perhaps never.........
What I also find very strange is that she has no pain what so ever.
Is this possible to have advance breast cancer not know it and have no pain all this time?
Second her heart is very weak that is most likely what will cause the end or both?
Coby has friends who take care of her and report to us.............
She does not want any one of us to come and see her.............
I am the oldest of six, my second sister smoked and worked with asbestos. bad combination
My only brother died of a heart attack and Coby is number three to go.
I have two younger sisters left they both live in Holland
The youngest is a heavy smoker and will not stop as she cares more about not getting fat.
The other sisters health is not the best, both are ten-12 years younger than I am
Both my parents are dead, my mom died at 94 years old of an aneurysm, she never knew what hit her
what a blessing. My dad died at 62 of long cancer.
Both families are wiped out, no one is left it sure feels weird for sure

Lawyers in the courtroom............unreal...............

Hear are some excerpts from actual court cases.

Lawyer: Did you blow your horn or anything?
Witness: After the accident?
Lawyer: Before the accident.
Witness: Sure, I played for ten years. I even went to school for it.

Lawyer: Doctor, how many autopsies have you performed on dead people?
Witness: All my autopsies are performed on dead people.

Lawyer: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
Witness: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
Lawyer: And Mr. Johnson was dead at the time?
Witness: No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing an autopsy.

Lawyer: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
Witness: No.
Lawyer: Did you check for blood pressure?
Witness: No.
Lawyer: Did you check for breathing?
Witness: No.
Lawyer: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
Witness: No.
Lawyer: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
Witness: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
Lawyer: But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?
Witness: It is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere.

Lawyer: How was your first marriage terminated?
Witness: By death.
Lawyer: And by whose death was it terminated?

Lawyer: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?
Witness: Yes.
Lawyer: And what were you doing at that time?

Lawyer: What is your date of birth?
Witness: July fifteenth.
Lawyer: What year?
Witness: Every year !

Lawyer: How many were boys?
Witness: None.
Lawyer: Were there any girls?

Lawyer: Can you describe the individual you saw?
Witness: He was about medium height and had a beard.
Lawyer: Was this a male, or a female?

Lawyer: Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?

Lawyer: Was it you or your younger brother who was killed in the war?
Witness: What do you think counselor.

Lawyer: Did he kill you?
Witness: Excuse me counselor can you repeat the question?

Lawyer: What happened then?
Witness: He told me, he says, "I have to kill you because you can identify me"

Are you taking too many prescription drugs?

Lol Mercedes, I meant to say that there are not many people who can SAY that they don't take any pills

thumbs up Jenny

Are you taking too many prescription drugs?

Too many vitamines?
Nowadays, everything from bottled water to orange juice seems to have souped-up levels of vitamins and minerals in it. That may sound like a way to help cover your nutritional bases, especially if your diet is less than stellar. But routinely getting an overload of vitamins and minerals can hurt you.

Too much vitamin C or zinc could cause nausea, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. Too much selenium could lead to hair loss, gastrointestinal upset, fatigue, and mild nerve damage.

While most people aren't getting megadoses, if you eat a fortified cereal at breakfast, grab an energy bar between meals, have enriched pasta for dinner, and take a daily supplement, you could easily be over the recommended daily intake of a host of nutrients.

Here's what you need to know to avoid overdoing it.

Supplements: Check the Dose
Chances are, the unfortified foods you eat aren't a problem. "It's pretty hard to overdo it from food alone," says Johanna Dwyer, RD, a senior research scientist with the National Institutes of Health's Office of Dietary Supplements.

Medicinal melting pot
Last updated: 21 July 2014

Mixing medicines can be a recipe for disaster. It can be harmful and dangerous to take different types of medicines together, but many people are in the dark about how medicines interact with other pharmaceutical treatments, and which combinations should be avoided.

Adverse drug events account for more than 400,000 GP visits and 190,000 hospital admissions annually. These figures are conservative and don't necessarily include hospitalisations for injuries, such as car accidents or falls, that may have been a result of medication issues.

While it's hard to put a total dollar cost to the health system of medication-related problems, in 2008 hospital admissions alone were estimated at $660 million. Yet about half of these hospitalisations were likely avoidable.

Who is at risk?
The most commonly implicated drugs are cardiovascular medicines, anticoagulants, anti-inflammatories and chemotherapy medicines. People most likely to be affected are those who:

take five or more medications together
use 12 or more doses per day

have had significant recent changes to their treatment regimen
require ongoing monitoring of medication effects
have language difficulties, problems with dexterity, poor eyesight or dementia
attend several different doctors.
Many elderly people are at risk of adverse events from medicines, which can result in hospital admissions. Not only are they more likely to suffer adverse drug events, but their recovery is likely to be poorer.
Why so many drugs?
People these days are relying more heavily on medications than ever before, with the average number of daily drug doses per person more than doubling in the past 20 years. There are several reasons for this:

The trend to treat single conditions with several drugs.
Risk factors for disease are increasingly managed with medication.
Lifestyle-related conditions, which are on the increase (such as heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes), are more conveniently treated with medicines than with a better diet or more exercise.
We're living longer and acquiring more health conditions along the way that need treatment.
Prescription medicines, while helpful in treating or preventing relevant health conditions, often have side effects, and sometimes the side-effect costs outweigh the benefits of the drug. A classic example is benzodiazepines – prescribed to help people sleep, they also increase the risk of falls and broken bones in elderly people.
Polypharmacy
Polypharmacy is the term for people taking many medications – with an accepted clinical definition of "many" being five or more. It's estimated that up to 40% of Australians over 65 are on five or more medications, sometimes with dire consequences. If all drugs have a small chance of side effects, taking different medications combined increases the overall risk and introduces the additional danger of interactions between medicines.

One example is warfarin, a commonly prescribed anticoagulant that interacts with some anti-fungal pills and creams, anti-arrhythmic drugs, thyroid drugs and diuretics, among others, to increase the risk of bleeding. Over-the-counter medicines such as aspirin and herbal medicines such as St John’s wort can also interact with prescription medicines.

On the other hand, taking a few different medicines for some conditions can help reduce the dose of each, and therefore reduces the risk of side effects. And when treating infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis and HIV, multiple drugs can reduce the development of drug-resistant strains. However, drug combinations in these sorts of situations have usually been adequately tested.

Promotions
When prescribed appropriately, medicine is usually helpful for most people – but that's not always the case. When in doubt about the p
