From my experience, during a discussion, a woman may have an opinion about something and somehow that opinion suddenly becomes a fact and then she is unwilling to see the other point-of -view of her partner. So i stop talking and say, well, what's the use...communication breaks down.....it would be so much better if she can keep an open mind, and be more willing to listen to what i have to say....

A Prayer for Better Understanding Between Fathers and Daughters

"Heavenly Father,

I thank You, Lord, for being an example of how a father should love his child. Today I pray for fathers. O Lord, help fathers to understand that our children require so much more of us, than just being a hard worker, provider and protector. They require that fathers be there for them and to spend quality time with them. I pray especially for a better understanding and relationship between fathers and their daughters. Help us, as fathers, to be more sensitive to our daughters' need, and to be kindhearted and loving towards them. As fathers, let us be able to listen when we are told about our short-comings and areas in which we need to improve. Let us be patient, and be better at communication with our daughters. Show us how to demonstrate love to them, for example, by the kind words we speak, hugs and smiles that we share and small gifts that we purchase for them. Help us to prayerfully spend time in Your presence and to seek your guidance on how to deal with our daughters, especially during difficult times, like their teenage years. Let us be able to discern when our daughters are reaching out to us, even when it seems that they are being disobedient, 'rude' or undisciplined." Thank You, Lord, for answered prayer. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.

“Every man must be swift about hearing, slow about speaking, slow about wrath.” (James 1:19).

"And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)

Bless The Lord, O My Soul! cheering

"Heavenly Father. I worship and adore You, and Your name is above every other name. I thank You for Your tender mercies and love towards me. O Lord, I thank You for opportunities to grow spiritually, even when at first glance things the odds are against me. Help me to see beyond human frailties, and to love them still. Teach me to forgive and to show compassion towards others who have hurt me, and continue to speak evil against me. I thank for You for peace of mind, the gift of love, the joy of the Holy Ghost, and the power of praise and prayer..In Jesus' awesome name I pray. Amen."

"1 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, cheering

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, cheering

Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
14 For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust." - Psalm 103: 1-14.

Poem: Love Personifies....by positive_vibes

"she is unique and can never be imitated
she is closest when memories of others have faded
she never forces herself upon you
but believes only what her heart sees
she is always there to mend a broken soul
she forgives and forgets
hurtful word rarely leaves her lips...
when you see yourself through her eyes..you see happiness...
purpose is within your reach.
she is priceless yet precious and rare
all the diamonds in the world can't buy her.
she seeks your interest and not your benefits
there is no "i" and "my" about her stares
and spending eternity with you
is what's on her mind...
open your heart and never let her go."

"Heavenly Father, this world needs more love :heart-beating: ... a priceless smilegrin , a kind word...a humane touch. Teach us to follow the example of Your Son Jesus, and to continue to sow love teddybear where there is hatred, forgiveness instead of acts of ridicule and anger very mad ... compassion for others whose spent words are wasted on blasphemy and bigotry. Thank You for giving me the gift gift of love to share with the loveless, hurting and needy. In Jesus' matchless name I pray. Amen."

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." - 1 Peter 4:8.

Be Strong In the Lord!

When tormented by others, always remember what Paul says in 2 Corinthian 12:

"...I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

"May You, O God, and Your Son Jesus Christ always receive all the honour and glory in this forum.Amen"

We Are Living In the Last days...Repent!

2 Timothy 3:1- 5 says that there will be evil in the last days:

"1 But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, 4 traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!"

" I pray Lord, that those who have ears to hear will hear, and turn their hearts away from evil. Thank You Lord, for one more soul that Your Holy Spirit will convict, and for Your grace that will lead him/her to you. Amen."

A Prayer for Immigrants

"Abba Father, I thank You for the gift of life and love. I plead for my brother in Christ Pastor Noe Carias, and other immigrants who are being held at detention centres in the US and all over the world. Lord, I ask for divine favour in bona fide cases, and pray that the authorities ask swiftly in dispensing justice.I plead that these immigrants be treated humanely, and that their human rights be protected and preserved. Give them faith O Lord, and let them find Christ at the centre of their experiences. Lord, during these difficult times for their families, I asked that their loved ones find comfort, understanding, compassion and love. Strengthen their faith and trust in You, O Lord, as You miraculously turn their tests into great testimonies. In Jesus' name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen"

"O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his neighbour!" - Job 16:21.

Have You Forgiven Him or Her? What Does The Bible Say About Forgiveness?

Some Bible Nuggets on Forgiveness....

#1 Be Prepared to Forgive Again and Again

Matthew 18: 21-22 NIV

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? “Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

#2 If We Expect God to Forgive Us, Be Prepared to Forgive Others

Matthew 6:14-15 NIV

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

#3 Forgiveness Is An Act of Love..

1 Corinthians 13:4 - 6 NIV

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

#4 Instead of Being Quick to Judge/Condemn Others...Forgive

Luke 6:37 NIV

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Have You Forgiven Him or Her? What Does The Bible Say About Forgiveness?

thanks crayons....and u r right, we can't absolve ourselves from our own sins. i wanted to get across the idea that we allow guilt to get the better of us,and some people blame themselves, and never break free of this mindset. It is with God help that we need to rise above that state of mind.

Have You Forgiven Him or Her? What Does The Bible Say About Forgiveness?

If God loves me enough to forgive me, why is it so hard for me to forgive myself?

GUILT....sometimes we are our own worst enemy, and that saying also holds true when we refuse to forgive ourselves for whatever reason.

In the same token, don't allow others to make us feel guilty about our past mistakes, so much so, that we never forgive ourselves...

Psalm 103:11-12 says,

"For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

That is the extent of God's love towards man! With God, it is a case of forgive and forget! Maybe it should also be the same with us. Don't let guilt rob you from the healing power of forgiveness...forgive yourself because God has already forgiven you.

Non-forgiveness can be a heavy burden to carry...maybe now is the time for you to let it go.[/quote

Have you ever read the Steven McDonald's story, a NYPD cop paralyzed for 30 years after being shot at close range by a teenager? The articles says,

"McDonald, the father and son of a city cop, barely dodged death in the July 26, 1986, attack where 15-year-old Shavod (Buddha) Jones blasted him three times inside the north end of the Midtown oasis."

These are Mc Donald's words after his miraculous recovery:

“I forgive him, and hope that he can find peace and purpose in his life.”

Instead of remaining in that place of discouragement, pain and defeat, Steven McDonald allowed God to use him to positively impact the lives of so many people after his terrible ordeal. The article further states that it was the words of Cardinal John O’Connor's comparison of Christ and the cop that helped convince the paralyzed McDonald to follow his new path.

“He didn't save the world through teaching and preaching and miracles,” the cardinal once told the cop of Jesus. “He made it possible when he was lying motionless on the cross.”

There is power in the cross. Maybe, you have been carrying that weight of non-forgiveness around for a while. It is time to lay it at the feet of Jesus. Yes, like Mc Donald, the pain and the scars are there. But through the power of prayer and forgiveness, there is a new and better path for your life.

Let us pray.

"Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ. Today I lay this burden of non-forgiveness at His feet. I pray for the grace to release ( name the person) who has caused me hurt. Fill me with Your peace and love and make me whole once again. Use me Lord. I thank You for answered prayer. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

A Warfare Prayer Against Murder and Violence

"Almighty God, give me understanding to know that I am not fighting against man but against spiritual wickedness in high places. Send your heavenly army to war against the spirits of murder and violence that snuff out the lives of the innocent, and shed the blood of countless victims. I pray for your divine protection over the unsuspecting, and ask that you comfort grieving hearts. Father, turn the hearts of the wicked and let them realize that violence is never the solution. Let the spirit of forgiveness dominate their hearts and minds. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."

A Prayer for Those Dealing With Hardship..Just Like Job.

" All knowing, all powerful and ever-present God, sometimes like Job You allow trials into my life to prove my love and faithfulness to You. Open my heart to embrace life's hardship and my eyes to see every test as a testimony of Your goodness and mercy towards me. This too shall pass. Let me be still and know that You are God in the midst of this battle. I cancel every negative word that I have spoken out of anger, and I rebuke that complaining spirit. I lift my eyes unto heaven from where my help comes. I sing a victory song for my battle is already won. I thank You, Lord, for this season in my life, and for taking my faith to the next level. "Heavenly Father, You hold my future in Your hands, although life's battles rage on. This one thing I am confident: Though You slay me, and bring me to naught, yet in You will I trust. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, my Salvation and my Rock. Let not my enemies mock me and laugh at me. If iniquity be in my heart put it far away from me, and let no evil dwell in my house. This may not be the answer you are looking for, but what matters the most to me is how God sees me, not you.

As far as i am concerned, i prefer to let the Word of God in Luke 6:37 speak for me:

“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven."

Act 5:38-39 is one of my favourite scriptures that i often pray:

"38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! ... For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

"Almighty and All-Knowing God, You are the same yesterday, today and forevermore. I pray that if this forum is not of You, then it will fail. But if it is of You, fight against those who fight against me. Silence the tongues of my enemies. Bring to shame those who which to bring Your Holy name to to shame. I thank You Lord for answered prayer. In Jesus' mighty name I pray. Amen."
