Thank You It really wasnt as difficult as Id feared surprisingly. Its an excellent service from the NHS and you can take as long over the process as you feel comfortable with. On some of the products theres also links to internet quit lines which email you daily with encouragement and info - it really was an excellent help - and I feel so much better for it too. Its definitely one of my better decisions

I dont declare 'it' irrelevant, I wouldnt spend so much time and effort on something which I found irrelevant. The whole thing is totally relevant. We do of course have to be aware of our culture difference, in schools here children are given information about the various religions, even the Buddhists who dont have a god, Im not sure of how things are taught where you come from.
In other words, each religious person on earth today arbitrarily rejects thousands of gods as imaginary, many of which he/she has never even heard of, and arbitrarily chooses to "believe" in one of them.
The following quote from Stephen F. Roberts sums up the situation very nicely:
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
A rational person rejects all human gods equally, because all of them are equally imaginary. How do we know that they are imaginary? Simply imagine that one of them is real. If one of these thousands of gods were actually real, then his followers would be experiencing real, undeniable benefits. These benefits would be obvious to everyone. The followers of a true god would pray, and their prayers would be answered. The followers of a true god would therefore live longer, have fewer diseases, have lots more money, etc. There would be thousands of statistical markers surrounding the followers of a true god.
Darling, if you dont understand biology at this stage of your life then far be it from me to try to explain it to you - have a look at some of Dawkins stuff, hes good on biology
dont be silly, I cant reject something which I dont believe exists can I - the rejection is in the original proposition - you say theres a god, I say show me, nobody has convinced me so far therefore - no love coming my way from there either
