I don't know about the farmer's story, but I do know that I contracted pneumonia and, needless to say, I was very ill. I came across an article that said to cut both ends off an onion, put one end on a fork and then place the forked end into an empty jar, placing the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs. Sure enough! It happened just like that! The onion was a mess, and I began to feel better.

Another thing I read in the article was that onions and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties.

Thanks for this article. It brought back memories of when my oldest son used to get colds all the time when he was little. This lady told me to cut an onion and rub it on his chest. The onion turned very black and my son soon felt better.

Here's another story...

A friend of mine told me a story about how when he was a kid he was in the hospital & near dying. His Italian grandmother came to the hospital & told a family member to go buy her a large onion & a new pair of white cotton socks. She sliced the onion open then put a slice on the bottom of each of his feet & put the white cotton socks on him. In the morning when he awoke they removed the socks. The slices of onion were black & his fever was gone.

Back in 1997...

I was up for 5 days. I don't know how many hours that is. I did not get tired at all.

I used to operate on 2 to 4 hours of sleep per day back then.
Once a week I slept 14 hours. Many times during the week I would be up over 48 hours.

I have stayed up 72 hours lots of times. It's a breeze.

Now, I try to get 5 to 6 hours sleep, that's my norm these days.

Hey, it's cool.

If someone I just met wanted me to give up my dog whom I've had for almost 12 years, who's been with me 24/7 by my side, it would just be wrong. I could not do that to her. My dog goes into deep depression if I am gone. She wouldn't make it with out me.

Now the cat, that's a different story. It lives outside. I would give it away in a heartbeat. It's all black and a sweet cat. The cat and I do not have a bond like me and the dog. I have only had the cat for just over a year and it's always outside.

To give away the dog would be like giving away one of my kids.

It is not a concept of the dog being more important than a human.
Humans are more important than animals.

The concept here is that I am content here with just me and my dog. I am not co-dependant. I do not need to have another person here to make me who I am. I am comfortable being alone with the dog for company.

I have not been on a date in over 9 years. I am content. My dog is here so that I am not lonely. We share lots of things together. She is fun and she never complains. I don't have to pick up after her or do her laundry. She doesn't argue with me or treat me badly. She prays!

Sure, I would like a companion to do things with, share life's opportunities with, but with my OCD, he can't come strolling in here and mess up my world. Perhaps I am difficult? Perhaps there is no match for me? I won't settle for just any man. He's a rare breed and hard to find.

I've been around enough to know what I don't want. If I must live out the rest of my days without humans, I shall. I am extremely picky, you must understand. My dog can deal with me. You may not be able to.

I refused to take a job if my dog could not come.
The dog has been around much longer.
The dog is faithful.
The dog does not give me a hard time or backtalk.

I do not have a lover. If one came along, he and the dog would have to get along or the man goes. It's just that simple. I would not get deep into a relationship with a man who could not be around my dog, so we won't have this problem.

I have had my little dog for almost 12 years.
She was in the passenger seat truckin with me for 11 of those years. We have a bond. If I leave the house, she will not eat or drink until I return. She is the best dog in the whole wide world and I tell her that every day. I love her and she loves me. If I cry tears, she licks them from my cheeks.

Sorry, I will never give up my dog for a man, even a good man.

I have just never heard of this being done before.

When I was a kid, in Florida, airplanes used to drop dry ice into the clouds to make it rain on the everglades, when they were on fire.

I'm a little confused about spraying dry ice to prevent the snow, mentioned in this article. How can you use it to make it rain and to make it not snow? Does anyone know?

Yes, I agree, the love of money has ruined our Doctors.
It wasn't so very long ago our Doctors made house calls and they
didn't mind if they did not get paid. They did it cos they cared about people and they valued life.

TRENTON, N.J. - Merck & Co. paid doctors and nurses a total of $3.7 million this summer to give talks to colleagues about the drugmaker's products and other health topics, Merck disclosed Monday.

Amid growing criticism of industry influence over which treatments doctors choose for their patients, the company posted a database on its Web site listing speaking fees paid to 1,078 doctors, researchers, nurses and other health professionals. It covers July through September, and Merck — the second major drugmaker to disclose payments to doctors — plans to update it regularly.

"There's been a tremendous amount of misunderstanding" about the relationship between industry and doctors, said Dr. Richard Pasternak, Merck's head of scientific affairs. "This shines a light on it."

The 1,078 speakers gave a total of 2,493 talks and were paid $1,548 on average. The top earner got $22,693, and dozens of doctors received more than $10,000.

"We think what we're doing is just fine," Pasternak told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview.

'A step in the right direction'
Califf said disclosing payments to physicians is "a step in the right direction," but that medical schools and professional medical societies should take a bigger role in teaching doctors about new products.

Dr. Steven Nissen, head of cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic and an industry critic, said disclosures aren't enough.

"They don't pay this kind of money unless they're getting marketing out of it," he said, adding that paid speakers "become an employee and an agent of the pharmaceutical industry."

No Right Or Wrong!

Paul wrote this in his early relationship with God. He was going thru the period of tug-a-war, putting death to the flesh and its desire, becoming a more spiritual being.

There does come a time, if you seek God with all of your heart, that you do overcome this struggle. You become one with God. You know the thoughts, plans and purposes of His heart, as he shares them with you as you meet with Him in the secret place.
You are now intimate with Him and are a mature spiritual being.

When this level is achieved, you realize that there is no right or wrong. Only circumstances which give you choices, which determine the outcome of that specific situation. If you turn to Him for direction in every situation and circumstance, He will lead you. Sometimes, we are allowed to make a decision which others may believe is "wrong", but in fact, we must be led down that path, as an experience that we may trust Him to carry us thru it, that we may be overcomers and walk in Victory.

If we were "perfect" all of the time and never made "mistakes", we would not grow spiritually.

Therefore, there is no right or wrong, only paths to teach us.

So, Pay Attention!!!

No Right Or Wrong!

Don’t obsess over right and wrong decisions. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience.

If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another. This isn’t a correct assumption because the universe is flexible- it adapts to every decision you make. Right and wrong are only mental constructs.

Go beyond risks. You can go beyond risks by knowing that there is infinite intelligence at work in the hidden dimension of your life. At the level of this intelligence your choices are always supported. The point of looking at risks would be to see if your course of action is reasonable. People who can assess their choices at the deeper level of awareness are aligning themselves with infinite intelligence, and thus they have a greater chance for success than does someone who crunches the numbers.

It is hard to let go when you don’t know if you have made the right choice in the first place. Doubt lingers and ties us to the past. It is important not to make critical decisions when you are in doubt.

The universe supports actions once they are begun, which is the same as saying that once you take a direction, you are setting a mechanism in motion that is very hard to reverse. When you are in doubt, however, you put the universe on hold for a while. It favors no particular direction.

Keep in mind that you are the choice-maker, which means that who you are is far more than any single choice you have ever made or ever will make.

How do I stay Healthy?

I eat mostly fruits and veggies, organic, locally grown.

I juice a lot.

I also eat lots of fiber to keep things flowing smoothly thru the intestinal trac. When we eat, our digested foods pass thru here and nutrients are absorbed thru the intestinal wall into the passing blood cells. Clogs cause major problems!
Good sources of fiber are whole grains found in breads, nuts, beans and fruits.

I read labels! Those preservatives are deadly toxins!!!
Do not purchase items that contain them.

I eat at home most of the time, preparing my own food.
Restaurant foods are loaded with harmful chemicals and will gladly supply you with extra MSG!

I take supplements. Soil today has lost much of it's nutritional source. Even veggies from the garden are not nearly as nutritious as in years gone by.

DETOX! DETOX! DETOX! It is imperative that we cleans harmful toxins from our bodies! There are many ways to do this. Steam baths, Hot showers, Drink LOTS of uncontaminated WATER! I get mine from a nearby spring. Water will flush toxins from your body and provide minerals to feed and maintain healthy blood cells. Drink lemon water.

Just as preventative maintenance keeps machinery running smooth and functional, we should do the same for our bodies.

The air we breathe is full of toxins, so detox regularly.

Also... AVOID PRESCRIPTION DRUGS!!! They are CHEMICALS!
DO NOT put Chemicals into an Organic Body!!!

Ladies, this includes Beauty Aids, make up, soaps and lotions, shampoos, etc. Read labels!
