RE: how long after divorse ..WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN???

How long after divorce a person takes .... depends on the person. Healing must take place before you find the right what you are looking for. As annoying as that sounds, it's true.

Please continue to post on the forums. Some people have found it helps them vent, learn, heal, and in some cases find that special person. For others, it helped them through some rough stuff, and helped them be able to meet someone. You might not meet that special someone on line, but being here can help.

Don't worry about ranting, you might be surprised how many other people feel the same way.

Good luck in your search.

RE: controling partner

Ditto!

RE: Mate who dosnt want you to know his friends

They are hiding something ... ??? Don't feel you might be comfortable or fit in??

RE: controling partner

#1, there is not much you can do to put a controlling person at ease.

They control you by making you try to put them at ease.

Controlling person ... can also a person that is abusive. The abusive person does not have to be one that hits, or is negative, but one that controls everything, even you. It wears you down and saps your energy and health, mentally, physically and emotionally.

"And to let them know that you are not like that other person, That they use to be with,"
They will never stop until they fix themselves.

What advise can you give to a "controling partner" to make them at ease?, It's like a person with an addiction, it's not you who can fix it, they have to fix themselves.

RE: is it just me?

Just like, looking for for that special person on line, you have the same games going on when not using the internet.

Some of us have found someone one, but still come here to keep in contact with friends we made. Forums can be very informative, and a place to post and read jokes.

Unfortunately the internet has made it too easy for people to play games, or be the person they'd rather be. There are some very honest people looking for that special someone and for the right reasons.

You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the right one. Best of luck in your search.

RE: Mother's Day

ME MUDDER

When me prayers were done and said, who tucked me in me widdle bed?

And kissed me till me cheeks was red, Me Mudder!

Who took me from me cozy cot and put me on the ice-cold pot?

And made me pee when I could not, Me Mudder!

And when the morning light would come, and in me crib me dribbled some ...

Who wiped me tiny widdle bum? Me Mudder!

Who would me hair so neatly part and hug me gently to her heart?

Who sometimes squeezed me till me fart? Me Mudder!

Who looked at me with eyebrows knit and nearly have a king size fit?

When me Sunday pants me split, Me Mudder!

HAPPY MUDDER'S DAY

RE: WHO'S THE GREATEST ARTISTS WRITERS ACTORS/ACTRESES FIlM DIRECTERS PRODUCERS THAT EVER LIVED & WHY ?

hmmm Steven Spielberg ... his work was ahead of his time, his stories can have a powerful impact ... example "Shindler's list".

Anthony Hopkins .... artist and actor.

Kathryn Hepburn (unique personality, dared to be herself, did not care about having a Hollywood life, beautiful, wore pants/slacks when it was not the norm, fantastic actress and could do a movie character from any era ... and Audry Hepburn, beautiful inside and out, talented actress and like Kathryn, could do movies that were from any Era, and her work for the children... these two women are 2 of my favorite actress's.

.... Anne Brancroft ... Colleen Duhurst ... loved their talent, and their smiles .... Colleen Duhurst, had this laugh, and if you look on these two ladies faces, they had awesome laugh lines that only truly happy people that know how to laugh and smile a lot have ......I'd better stop before more names pop up ...

RE: WHO'S THE GREATEST ARTISTS WRITERS ACTORS/ACTRESES FIlM DIRECTERS PRODUCERS THAT EVER LIVED & WHY ?

I should mention, people that can spell a hell of a lot better than I do. grin

RE: WHO'S THE GREATEST ARTISTS WRITERS ACTORS/ACTRESES FIlM DIRECTERS PRODUCERS THAT EVER LIVED & WHY ?

Sorry Gilly, it's hard for me to just pick one person ... I can name a couple of people ... but there is a list of who and why's ...

1. James Stewart ... actor (who did not have the big star self centered ego) ... war hero ... author ... animal lover ... would probably be an awesome person to sit down and talk to. (this is how I judge people. A person I'd like to share a coffee/tea, or meal, & having a great conversation with.

2. Diana Gabaldon ... I love her books, what she writes about, makes me laugh cry, and want to read more of her books. Her imagination and talent brings me much enjoyment.

3. there are too many painters and artists for me to just pick one. Arnold Zageris, was a teacher of my children. I would wish all children could have a teacher like him. He is also a photographer and has had a book published of his work. I Admire his work as a teacher and artist. His wife Joan, is a painter. Her work is Pronominal. I would love to have her talent and skill.

4. As a younger person I had people I admired for their dance talent. Karen Kain, and Frank Augustine were my favorites. Leslie Caron, and Cid Cherise (spelled wrong), and Donald O'Connor were also dancers I loved to watch. I could not name the dancers of today that I love to watch, because there are so many young people out there that have an amazing talent, that surpasses anything I could have imagined.

5. My mom, because her cooking is great, and what she has done for so many children, and others. And her strength.
bowing

Sorry Gilly, I admire so many people for their different Uniqueness. Each of them have qualities, I would like to attain for myself.

RE: A true hero for today

Mr Hall was on the news today. He was still upset and worried about the young man he saved.

He cried when he said he had to slap the teen on the head when the teen panicked and almost drown the both of them. He felt very bad about that.

He said he did not want a reward. Mr Hall mentioned he would like to see a football game. He spoke about his past.

He had the guts to do what he did. I hope all the attention will not make things worse for him.

RE: A true hero for today

Read about this in the morning news. He is definitely a HERO. Imagine his being brave enough being the best mother's day gift that teenager's mother could have received. Her son is alive, and she can celebrate that instead of a funeral, lots of questions, sadness, guilt or anger.

Quote from Story:
"This is a man that most people would avoid at all costs, who is kind of scary-looking," said Willis. "But he just had both the courage and the humanity to not even think about it and just plunge himself into the water to save a life."

I do hope that the media will not be sticking it's nose into Mr Hall's life, and following him around ... or there is "invasion" that builds him up, then tears him apart, and makes his life worse. I wish him all the best, and if over coming what ever has sent him down the path he is on, is what he wants, wish that for him too. Deep inside, he is a good person and was very honest about his downfall.

Faron Hall is a hero. As bad as his own life is, he still had compassion and was brave enough to save that teen. The teen almost caused both of them to be drowned. I do not know if I could be as brave as Mr. Hall.

RE: KIDATHEART

Love Black Currant tea. Been looking for a better brand than what I have been using. A loose leaf version would be great ... Tea is a wonderful thing!!!!

Sorry Kid, this post is not intended to hijack your birthday thread.

RE: What is the most annoying question people ask u ???

Do I miss my daughter? ... hell yeah, but she was legal age, working, had a place of her own, and wanted to stay back in Quebec.

RE: What is the most annoying question people ask u ???

.... You are not the only one. Makes a person feel like they are being judge for what they are money wise or for what kind of job they have.

About Pets

A cat died and went to Heaven. God met her at the gates and said, 'You have been a good cat all these years. Anything you want is yours for the asking.'
The cat thought for a minute and then said, 'All my life I lived on a farm and slept on hard wooden floors. I would like a real fluffy pillow to sleep on.'
God said, 'Say no more.' Instantly the cat had a huge fluffy pillow.
A few days later, six mice were killed in an accident and they all went to Heaven together. God met the mice at the gates with the same offer that He made to the cat.
The mice said, 'Well, we have had to run all of our lives: from cats, dogs, and even people with brooms! If we could just have some little roller skates, we would not have to run again.'
God answered, 'It is done.' All the mice had beautiful little roller skates.
About a week later, God decided to check on the cat. He found her sound asleep on her fluffy pillow. God gently awakened the cat and asked, 'Is everything okay? How have you been doing? Are you happy?'
The cat replied, 'Oh, it is WONDERFUL. I have never been so happy in my life. The pillow is so fluffy, and those little Meals on Wheels you have been sending over are delicious!'

Moui44 ... a song about a very fine wine. (not about being drunk or sad) ... sophisticated fine wine. :-)

RE: Dedicate a song to a CS member!

Dear sir I write this note to you to tell you of me plight,
For at the time of writing it, I'm not a pretty sight,
Me body is all black & blue, me face a deathly grey,
And I write this note to say why I am not at work today.

While working on the 14th floor some bricks I had to clear,
But tossing them down from such a height, was not a good idea,
The foreman wasn't very pleased, he is an awkward sod,
and he said I had to cart them down the ladders in me hod.

Well clearing all these bricks by hand, it was so very slow,
So I hoisted up a barrel and secured a rope below.
But in me haste to do the job, I was too blind to see,
That a barrel full of building bricks was heavier than me.

And so when I untied the rope, the barrel fell like lead,
And clinging tightly to the rope, I started up instead.
I shot up like a rocket, and to my dismay I found
That halfway up I met the bloody barrel coming down.

Well, the barrel broke me shoulder as to the ground it sped,
And when I reached the top, I banged the pulley with me head.
But I clung on tightly, numb with shock, from this almighty blow,
While the barrel spilled out half its bricks some fourteen floors below.
Now when these bricks had fallen from the barrel to the floor,
I then outweighed the barrel & so started down once more.

But I clung on tightly to the rope, me body wracked with pain,
And halfway down I met the bloody barrel once again.
The force of this collision halfway down the office block,
Caused multiple abrasions and a nasty case of shock,
But I clung on tightly to the rope as I fell towards the ground,
And I landed on the broken bricks the barrel had scattered round.

Well as I lay there on the floor I thought I'd passed the worst,
But the barrel hit the pulley wheel & then the bottom burst.
A shower of bricks rained down on me; I didn't have a hope.
As I lay there bleeding on the ground I let go the bloody rope.
The barrel now being heavier, it started down once more.
It landed right across me as I lay there on the floor.
It broke three ribs and my left arm, and I can only say,
"I hope you'll understand why I am not at work today."

RE: What to u consider is a great day?

My Uncle (Mother's brother) returned to Ireland today.

It was very sad to see him go, and watch him and my mother hug and say their good byes. One aunt (my mother's youngest sister) leave next week. There is another aunt (mother's sister), that has been here since January.

Every day they were here together (first time all of them at the same time), was an awesome day.

My Uncle went with my mother each time she went through her first round of chemo. He was the best person to be there with her. Those were awesome days. His love, support and calm personality made things bearable for my mother. It was wonderful to have another visit with him, and get to know him more. He was not really supposed to take the trip, due to his own health. How much he loved and wanted to support my mother through all of this, taught me a lot. He is a great man.

Every meal the last 4 remaining members of my mother's family, or just sitting around watching them talk, or interact with each other was amazing. All of them are holding on to each other as much as possible, since they are the last 4 siblings left out of a family of 17.

Life has not always been very easy for them, especially growing up. No matter what their differences are, they can be counted on when needed.

Each day with them, has been an awesome day.

Now we need to keep my mother from thinking that was their final good bye and that she will be making that planned visit to Ireland in September.

... on another note ... watching how far the kids have come since they have been in my mother's care ... makes for a great day. One little guy decided to run around the house and say my name over and over. That was totally awesome since he had never said it before. banana

28 yrs ago my oldest son was born. April 28 ... is the day an awesome baby was born. At 6 yrs old Dr.s did not want me to get my hopes up, well, he surpassed all the expert's expectations. Every day with him is great .... same with his sister .... and brother.

Sorry folks... it's a very sentimental day for moi.

happy place

RE: KIDATHEART

Hey, are you making fun of short people again? Geezzzz Brew ... I'm height challenged but it's an advantage when you earn that kick below the belt. grin

Since you are going to be old enough to start collecting your pension this year, you might need the much younger Kidatheart, to help you lift your sippy cup for you.

I wonder if Trucker has an extra hard rolling pin ... or tire wrench ... It might come in handy. grin

RE: What irritates you?

Where is Wally???
He posted lots of intelligent comments. His unique way of spelling did not offend any of us. Gordy's comments make me laugh ... be boring with out his posts.

JMO, with out all the different points of view, personalities, and intellectual ways of looking at things, our forums would be boring. It's all the different members with their own uniqueness that keeps this forum going.

Cheers!! The pizza has arrived. No matter how old they are, my sons like pizza for their birthday supper. :-).

RE: What irritates you?

Someone that likes to belittle, act like a snob and better than everyone else, and makes comments makes negative comments.

It might mean that is how negative about themselves, that person feels, but it still does not give them the right to do it to someone else.
