A man entered the bus with both of his front pockets full of golf balls and sat down next to a beautiful (you guessed it) blonde. The puzzled blonde kept looking at him and his bulging pockets.
Finally, after many such glances from her, he said, 'It's golf balls'. Nevertheless, the blonde continued to look at him for a very long time, deeply thinking about what he had said.
After several minutes, not being able to contain her curiosity any longer, she asked;
I should have clarified my comment better. If a person (with no terminal disease) wants to commit suicide because they are in a depressed state of mind... I'm not in favor of euthanasia.
JMO, if they have to schedule you in, are they really looking to have a relationship?
Unfortunately, working single parents, might be at the mercy of their kid's schedules, but if that is not the case,... being penciled in, sounds so impersonal.
Some do have more time. If you really are serious about trying to have a relationship, you have to make time.
Phoning during the week, or an email, and then the possibility of "hooking up" on the weekend for a few hrs, is not (JMO) a relationship. If the 2 people involved only want that, its not a problem.
For the ones that truly want a relationship/connection with someone, JMO, not right.
NDP MP Pat Martin said his office was flooded with phone calls Thursday from Winnipeggers offended by the group’s plan.
“These people (the WBC) are almost as crazy as the murderer,” he said, referring to the protesters’ intentions.
“If they are here to disrupt the social order, that constitutes grounds to deny them entry. There is no redeeming virtue in the message they are bringing.”
Martin said Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day’s office sent an alert to border patrol to “look out” for people with signs and pamphlets that fit the hateful messages that the church promotes and to keep them out of the country.
“In the opinion of his office, coming up here with the message they’re articulating constitutes hate speech,” Martin said.
Shirley Phelps-Roper, daughter of church’s founder, Fred Phelps, said a small group of protesters was stopped at the Canada-U.S. border Thursday afternoon.
“They won’t let us in, but we have a group that will cross in another spot,” she said. “They’ll have to strip search everyone who crosses that border or they won’t know who we are. They’ll have to see the WBC (Westboro Baptist Church) tattoo on our butts.”
The Westboro group has been branded as a hate group and is known for protesting the funerals of American soldiers.
The group failed to show Thursday night for a scheduled protest of the opening night of Toronto playwright Alistair Newton’s “The Pastor Phelps Project: a fundamentalist cabaret” which satirizes their leader’s fervent anti-gay stance.
Members had also planned to picket on Friday night outside a performance in Red Deer, Alta., of “The Laramie Project,” a play based on the murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man in Wyoming. Winnipeg police say they aren’t planning to block Westboro Church protesters if they get across the border, but are prepared to be on hand if necessary.
Thanks everyone. Better to vent here than in front of my son.
Guess I'm not surprised, but it's the callousness of it all. I'm no fan of Insurance companies, (JMO) they are all about the all mighty dollar and profit.
At the scene of the accident, 2 brinks guards were behind the driver that hit my son. They called in the accident, an ambulance was on the scene and so were the police.
My son went to the emergency and to his family Dr. Here you can not get physio unless the Dr refers you.
The insurance company also has the photos of my son's injuries. I took photos.
I'm not impressed that the driver never even tried to contact or inquire to see of my son was alright. Her not reporting the accident to her insurance company tells me what kind of person she is.
If a person has an incurable painful disease and will die from it, (and they want to die), yes. Do not feel it is right to prolong a life full of suffering, but it has to be that person's choice. If they can not speak for themselves, hope there is a living will or some record that, that is what they would like.
If someone wants to commit suicide because that is where they are mentally, no.
A driver, not looking to her right, while looking left, on a right turn while the light was red, failed to see a pedestrian crossing on a walk light (lights for his direction were green)
Ambulance everything is called, there is a police report. Stupid driver does not report she hit my son in the first place.
He was told to use his benefits from work to pay for the physio and he would be reimbursed for the difference. He just got a cheque for a whopping .... now get this, $8.18.
If I am near that insurance person or that driver, it will be the first time I will have physically gone after someone.
I am soooooooo Fleeping upset!
He has to use his benefits from work because some woman is too stupid to look where she is going??? I so want to have that woman standing in front of me so I can verbally let her have it.
It was a brave post .... it brightened up my evening and I laughed a lot about it. Hope you do not take that as an insult, please take it as a compliment.
I got very angry and then cried. Did not think it would effect me that much. Then read the thread about some church group wanting to go to this young man's funeral and protest about his life style... He fought over seas.
