I think it depends on how you set it up on Facebook. I can talk to people on chat there, but I have phone numbers and people I actually know on that. But there are those who just add random people, which I do not. Unless someone here is actually serious, then I may add them to FB. This is fun, but I came here to find a possible relationship.

My Facebook is all real friends and family and we can have so much fun on there. I don't ever get scammers or people pretending to be something they aren't. 98% of the people on my facebook I went to school with and the other 2% is the kids, their friends, and friends I made at work. Totally better than CS.

It is also about quantity for some and not quality! Everyone says the same thing and then say just have fun. I have fun here at home with my kids. I'm looking for something meaningful. I can't just go anywhere so I thought this might help me connect with someone on a larger scale...boy was I wrong LOL.

I thought so too...which goes back to another one of my blogs and I was told to have fun and most people aren't even looking. Last I read this was a dating site. Maybe I was wrong?

I was just going to say that!!! Yes in my discovery, women have to be independent because too many men are taking advantage of us. We can no longer depend on a man to make a home stable...it is another job left up to the woman. I'd give anything to find the right man...one who can communicate, has common sense, is stable, and works! I'm a very simple person, I really don't ask too much.

I want a strong man who is gentle and nice. I don't mean brut strength or the "bad boy". I want an everyday average joe who is a family man. Not some hood rat. Strength had many faces. I personally choose nice and committed over jail birds any day.

I can assure you that here where I live, we do not wish to be like that. We want an educated man for stimulating conversation, a trustworthy man that we can go to with anything, and a man who takes pride in his family. Nothing barbaric...

I think we want the funny yet strong indiviual that entitles to them to the position of "man of the house" or any other title bestowed upon them. "cool" is a loose term to use. And I think that term went out of style in the 80's-90's? Lol We want stable, honest, dependable, and strong men...not "cool"

It depends on what you mean in the terms of looks. I want someone who I'm attracted to, but I'm not looking for a Johnny Depp type...though I wouldn't turn him down! But it is the personality that is most important. Most guys want the skinny model type girl which is unfair. Many bigger women are beautiful and have the personality to boot...but most want the physical looks by way of the body...

I prefer hair over bald. I think hair makes a guy look younger too. Some guys look good bald if they have the right size and shape of head for it.

I've not had any luck. Everyone is trying too hard to be something or someone they aren't. Too much decieving going on as well. Not to mention most people, once they see you in person aren't happy with what they see. I firmly believe that the old fashion way of dating is best. I had one guy I dated from another site I use to be on and he turned out completely psycho. He declared his love after two weeks of TALKING and promised me all this material crap. That's not what I wanted. He was trying to buy my love and didn't understand the words "go slow, I'm trying to get to know you" Now I've had to block him from my facebook and email because he's literally stalking me! Sorry you're having troubles too.

It can work if you have the means to visit each other often and that the end goal is to be together. Otherwise no it won't work because eventually something will give and another will take your place. Someone who can be with you all the time. Now if you only want to be friends...sure that will work. But ideally you want a relationship with someone who is there for you and can be with you physically. Not by phone call or email..

Unsettled in Ohio

You're right. I did kind of grow roots in another state. But I love the mountains and the ocean and it's my peaceful place. I'd rather be poor and live where I want then stuck here and still be poor My boys are here which two are grown one is married, but my youngest was born in GA. Which is where we settled roots. I'm sure being single isn't helping. But I can only control what is in my control and unfortuately being single is something I can't control. Thanks for your reply!

It could be that you are living in Asia. One place where a lot of the scammers are. I have don't allow anyone to contact me outside of the United States because 99% are scammers from what I have encountered. I personally am very real, but I want what I want. And most women I'm sure have an idea of what kind of man they want. It sounds like you are in a predicament that you can't help. It's unfortunate, but I'd say your location is what is hurting you. Afterall, if a real woman wants to date, she wants someone around her not in another country.

Thanks for pointing out the destroying life effects it has on people. Many people don't realize that it does destroy your life. I've watched my brother do it for years and it got him into harder drugs. I'm glad your brother is doing great! I don't think people seiously understand what they look and act like when they are "stoned".

Honestly someone should have taken the child into consideration. Now he has no mother. We have weapons for people like her...like the bean bags and stop sticks to make her slow down to a stop...etc. She was in the wrong, but she was not a terrorist or shooting a gun out of control. Cars are easier to stop than a man on the run with a gun.

It pretty much already has. We haven't fully recovered from 2011. Now the government is putting a hold on certain programs and whether you believe it's a program needed or not you don't see the government giving up their pay or vacations. So really we already collapsed, but yes it can get much worse and probably will.

I don't know about cute, but they are an important part of the underwater balance. I am fascinated by sharks. I'd' love to fish for them, but I want to release them back.

Unsettled in Ohio

I don't like the people, the traffic, the cost of living which is very high, THE WEATHER, etc. The easier question would be what do I like about Ohio. My boys are here too, the oldest is married and the second oldest is turning 20 this month. The oldest will move if his wife will, the second oldest says no, and the youngest wants to move back to GA. I'm a country girl and Ohio has too much city even in the lesser developed areas. This place is very depressing to me and everyone seems to be turning ghetto...lol. I just prefer the southern living. It's cheaper living, friendlier people, warmer weather, and not a lot of political crap going on either. It's simple like me. I'm trying to move back to GA or go to FL. I hope it happens soon.
