A pretty disturbing statistic is that in the UK suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45. It's become almost an epidemic. I guess many factors contribute to this dire situation, but there's no question that something is going terribly wrong in society to affect so many, so badly.
If anyone is personally affected, or has family or friends they think might be at risk, I recommend this organisation, they are doing wonderful work supporting many vulnerable people....
A similar system has been postponed for the time being in Greater Manchester, even though the signs and cameras hve been in place for some time at great cost. The problem is, the 'clean air zone' covers all of Greater Manchester, a huge area with a population of around 6 million. In fact it stretches almost out to the coast in one direction and well up into the Pennines, almost into Yorkshire in another. These are distances of almost 40 miles, very rural and sparsely populated. It covers older vehicles, so one again the less well off will be hit the most.
I'm still right here because of my history. Any deviation from that, no matter how small, a different turn here, a different step there, who knows what the outcome could have been. I continue to celebrate a success story, for which I am grateful.
I never iron my clothes, don't think I need to. I have, however, been known to use a sad iron wrapped in a towel to warm the bed up on cold winter nights though.
Netherlands had to fight hard to overcome a strong Portuguese side. The Reggie Girls were ecstatic after earning their first ever World Cup point in their draw against France. A very late winner saved Sweden's blushes in a match that saw South Africa take an unexpected lead against the Swedes with their second ever World Cup goal
If this topic doesn't interest you, as you seem to be making clear, why are you posting on the thread? I guess I shouldn't need to ask really, being antagonistic has always been your mo. It's quite childlike really.
Not the stroll in the park for England that many thought it would be. It took a twice taken penalty for England to overcome a very caplable Haiti team that refused to play second fiddle to the European champions.
