What is Woke?

What was the question again? I must have missed it in amongst the insults.

What is Woke?

Why do you find it necessary to end so many of your replies to people with a one line personal insult?
I'm not the first to mention this.

What is Woke?

That's an angry response with no relevance ro my post, and you just couldnt resist getting the 'enlightened' swipe in could you.
When did I ever say I was an enlightened person? If I was truly enlightened, I sure as hell wouldnt be on here.

Jac, did you watch the video I posted in my op? You might find it funny, especially given your interaction with gal.

What is Woke?

What I mean gal is, the tendency to put people into this group or that group without even considering their point of view has led to the rabid polarisation that is causing so much upheaval and hatred in the world right now. The US is breaking apart in front of our social media eyes. Europe is torn apart by separation, us and them has become the norm in so many aspects of life.
It seems to me, the term woke could be applied to create even more division in a world where we need to be healing our divisions for the sake of humanity. All the examples I've seen to describe woke, are indeed issues that need to be discussed, but more often than not these days, the dialogue tends to lean immovably one side or the other.
Middle ground these days serm to be regarded as a sign of weakness.

What is Woke?

Where did I suggest that I didnt want to hear peoples opinions.
As usual, attacking the person, it really is your regular mo. I see you do it all the time.

What is Woke?

I did find it interesting, seems like you could substitute woke for lefty, or the other way round and no one might notice. Or would that be lazy labelling?

What is Woke?

Ok, woke is wanting to destroy something that you are angry with? Anything else?

What is Woke?

Yes I saw that this morning, it made me think of 'nuns on the run'.....monks on the whiz.'

What is Woke?

Speaks of awareness if you ask me TM.

What is Woke?

Hmm, seems like old Columbus was a bit naughy by todays standards, maybe thats why his presence, albeit in stone, was not looked upon as appropriate by some. Not sure where 'woke' comes in though, just seems like having an awareness of the facts.
I think a similar opinion could be formed on crt also to be honest.

What is Woke?

Maybe it's just a blanket term, a form of lazy labelling.
I've been watching some Russel Brand videos on the subject, but no point in posting any, no one would watch them, it would just give people more opportunity at 'lazy labelling.'

What is Woke?

What kind of statues and monuments, have you got any examples? We had some statues damaged here in the uk, but to be honest I can see with some of them why their continued presence would anger some people.
Don't understand the rest of your post.

What is Woke?

Ok. How does it do that?

What is Woke?

Yep......I woked up....laugh

Just testing the grammar police.... but no response....grin

What is Woke?

It/s a word we here banded about so much these days, even on here. I think it's become fashionable to be anti-woke, even though I don't know what it means.

Anyway, this anti-woke guy tries to explain to James O'Brien on LBC what woke is.....

It doesn't go well.....laugh

RE: Self-realisation...

Ok...thumbs up

RE: Self-realisation...

I thought that was more of a Christian thing.

RE: Self-realisation...

I have never heard this before, maybe you could tell more. Is it anything to do with Witchcraft?

RE: what do you want?

Peace of mind.

RE: Self-realisation...

I think one way of looking at it is say, we identify with the'me'. The one who has a name, a gender, job, family and possesions. The me is subject to change, birth life and death and sufferes the ills of being in our human body.
The self, or 'I' is not subject to change, birth life and death and is free from the endless suffereings of samsara, (the cycle of birth life and death) and is eternal.

I think that more or less ties in with what you are saying.

RE: Self-realisation...

Sometimes we do, sometimes we give careful consideration. I prefer the later, although spontaneity can bring unexpected rewards.

RE: Self-realisation...

I'm posting on a thread about self realisation. My personal details are not relevant.
