RE: Highlights of your place and or travels (if any)

Can you get a direct flight from there to Nevsehir?

RE: Highlights of your place and or travels (if any)

I guess it's warming up there right now. Would you travel there from Istanbul?

RE: Highlights of your place and or travels (if any)

Yes, it's the classic shot of Capp, the mass of wonderfully coloured hot air balloons above the spectacular landscape looks magic.

I'd love to go to Cappadocia. Nearly made it a few years ago when I was staying at the treehouses
at Olympus but just ran out of time.

RE: What turns you off

There are so many places in the States I'd like to visit. Spent a few months working in Connecticut in 2001, was hoping to do a bit of travelling after the work but had to come straight home. It turned out just as well, I left New York the beginning of September 2001, that would not have been a good time to start a road trip across America.

RE: What turns you off

There was plenty of snow but I found the runs lacked variety and were not very challenging. Very nice scenery though but not quite as nice as the Dolomites where we were a few weeks earlier.
I'd like to ski America but wouldn't go there just for the skiing when I've got the Alps so close by, especially the French Alps. Difficult to beat Val d'Isere.

RE: What turns you off

I was quite disappointed with St Moritz, as far as the skiing goes that is. Travelled there from Livingno, lovely journey.

RE: What turns you off

That's very nice of you, I have'nt been to that part of Asia.

RE: What will happen with the homeless in USA?

Well they have named a road after him a couple of miles from here. It used to be called Grey Mare Lane, now it's Alan Turing Way. Not sure if the pun was intended, or given that it was his 'way' that became his demise was it just an inappropriate gesture?

RE: What will happen with the homeless in USA?

I did walk the Golden Gate without pain pre-Baja.....dancing

Even without the nuclear threat, technology has greatly advanced our capability to kill and destroy. we've come a long way since the bow, arrow, and slingshot. Or have we?

RE: What will happen with the homeless in USA?

The twofold achievement of mankind is not complimentary or conducive to the sustainability of the species.
On the one hand, the achievements of humanity are impressive in technological advancements and scientific discoveries. The human mind is extremely intelligent, yet on the other hand, this intelligence is tainted by dysfunction or madness. In Hinduism, it's seen as a collective mental illness, referred to as 'maya' the veil of delusion. "The mind is maya" stated Ramana Maharishi, not much has changed.
Combining the great technological advances with 'the minds of maya' has allowed our destructive capabilities to create a possible true armageddon.

Are we hovering on the brink?
