"In the eternal identity of who I truly am, I see everyone as equal. Each one of us has gifts from the divine. There will be no ego if you recognize this. We need to maintain awareness of who we truly are. Every human being is valuable, every form of life, nature, and the planet is valuable,"
There are so many places in the States I'd like to visit. Spent a few months working in Connecticut in 2001, was hoping to do a bit of travelling after the work but had to come straight home. It turned out just as well, I left New York the beginning of September 2001, that would not have been a good time to start a road trip across America.
There was plenty of snow but I found the runs lacked variety and were not very challenging. Very nice scenery though but not quite as nice as the Dolomites where we were a few weeks earlier. I'd like to ski America but wouldn't go there just for the skiing when I've got the Alps so close by, especially the French Alps. Difficult to beat Val d'Isere.
I'm off to the pub now. Blathin, will you turn the light out when you leave, and maybe put another log on the fire, you never know, someone else could turn up.....
Well they have named a road after him a couple of miles from here. It used to be called Grey Mare Lane, now it's Alan Turing Way. Not sure if the pun was intended, or given that it was his 'way' that became his demise was it just an inappropriate gesture?
Even without the nuclear threat, technology has greatly advanced our capability to kill and destroy. we've come a long way since the bow, arrow, and slingshot. Or have we?
The twofold achievement of mankind is not complimentary or conducive to the sustainability of the species. On the one hand, the achievements of humanity are impressive in technological advancements and scientific discoveries. The human mind is extremely intelligent, yet on the other hand, this intelligence is tainted by dysfunction or madness. In Hinduism, it's seen as a collective mental illness, referred to as 'maya' the veil of delusion. "The mind is maya" stated Ramana Maharishi, not much has changed. Combining the great technological advances with 'the minds of maya' has allowed our destructive capabilities to create a possible true armageddon.
RE: Highlights of your place and or travels (if any)
Can you get a direct flight from there to Nevsehir?
