Quite a few. The most extreme was in the Hindu Kush mountains, North West Frontier Province, Pakistan. It was almost, forget eveything you know and start again from scratch......
Yet another thread that illustrates the total misinderstanding of the 'Laws of Karma' through understandsble ignorance of the subject.
*"There is no set linear relationship between a particular action and its results. The karmic effect of a deed is not determined solely by the deed itself, but also by the nature of the person who commits the deed, and by the circumstances in which it is committed."
"Karma is also not the same as "fate" or "predestination".Karmic results are not a "judgement" imposed by a God or other all-powerful being, but rather the results of a natural process.Certain experiences in life are the results of previous actions, but our responses to those experiences are not predetermined, although they bear their own fruit in the future.Unjust behaviour may lead to unfavorable circumstances which make it easier to commit more unjust behavior, but nevertheless the freedom not to commit unjust behavior remains."
Populism in politics helps create or reinforces a dualistic world view, where people are divided i to 'friends or foes.' Trump is a master at this, he is an expert at the old adage... Divide et impera, anti-establishment against the elite. From that position his appeal cannot be easily tarnished almost regardless of his action in the eyes of many. I think we had a similar situation here in the UK with BJ. Both of them would have made great game show hosts imo....
Very little compared to the asteroid that wiped the dinosaurs out. That is thought to have had and impact equivalent to ten billion bombs the size of the Hiroshima bomb.
Apart from that, karma means 'action.' The law of karma states, for every action, there is a reaction. Even in 1500bc when the laws of karma were written into the Rig Veda, the laws of physics were understood by very early scholars.
Not sure why this is in the jokes section, maybe the OP can explain that one. It's an interesting subject, one that many people dismiss instantly without doing any kind of research. The fact is, the evidence to point to some form of continuum after death is irrefutable. There are just too many verified accounts of people, mainly children, giving accurate accounts and description of previous lives to simply ignore. I remember one person who has spent most of his life examining hundreds of these cases saying, if this was brought before a court, the jury would have no choice other than found proven beyond any reasonable doubt. Apart from prior life accounts, near death experiences, of which there are countless numbers, provide compelling evidence of phenomena that just cannot be explained. Of course, at this time, no one can be 100% sure of the answer, but who knows, maybe we will all find out in due course....
Probably the same people. The more evidence provided the more they believe they're being hoodwinked. Some people still believe the world is only 6000 years old despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, not to mention those who still believe the earth is flat. Maybe theyre right, personaly I choose to explore both sides with an open mind.
RE: destiny and karma
I think as soon as you think about God as a being, an entity, you've missed the opportunity to experience the 'divine.'
