They roasted him over it and it was unfair. Many of those who slammed him on it would fare much worse than he if placed behind a podium. I've done a lot of public speaking and I'm always nervous at the start and have made my share of errors, even after hours of practice on a particular subject.
You're not seriously making an arguement for Obama not being a liberal and spending too much based on the admitted rantings of a political pundit are you? I would have thought that the debt increase since he took office would be proof enough but just in case, here's my reasoning for my stance/opinion:
LIBERALS - believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all. It is the duty of the government to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should be to guarantee that no one is in need.
Liberal policies generally emphasize the need for the government to solve problems.
CONSERVATIVES - believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals.
Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems
I believe I said "He's much too liberal and spends to much". Most of those items you listed speaks volumes of his Liberal Agenda i.e. the government as the solution to a problem. Most of those costs a lot of money, money we don't have.
You accuse me of group speak when I have to wonder if you even understand what the differences between Liberals and Conservatives really are. If your source for factual information is a known liberal pundit then what does that say about you and your ability to be open minded.
To be fair, there are flaws in both or all political views. I think they are capable of complimenting one another but we'll never be able to see that because too many believe their's is the only right way and instead of facing the facts, they pundit themselves to death.
They all have their moments But to be serious, public speaking is tough. Most are using manuscripts or tele prompters. The best are extemporaneous speakers but given the nature of their schedules, there's not a heck of a lot of time to practice a speach.
I think we could probably support our choices without thrashing other people's chioces. I could go down the line and critique each one to include my own choice (Reagan) They all had good and bad points. However, to throw insults at each one's intelligence is pointless. Personally, I don't like President Obama's politics. I think he's much too liberal and spends way too much but I would never insult his intelligence as I know he's an intelligent and very well spoken person. I could say the same for any of those who have served that office. well OK, Bush was not a good public speaker
My God, this was a poll to talok about who the best President was. It's turned into an insult of other people's opinions. Some of you folks just can't seem to handle that other's do not prefer your choice. You guys need some friggen help. Reminds me of grade school during recess..
Amazing how so many self professed "Open Minded" people do exactly that. They seem to think being open minded is OK as long as what one say's agrees with their view point.
I have to agree, totally unacceptable. Letting guns pass through in an attempt to follow them through the process in hopes of a "big" bust is reckless and stupid. Some big wig itching for their next promotion. In the mean time those ATF Agents getting killed by the drug lords and having their hands tied by their employers.
Yeah, I see this as an internal issue as well. I want no part of it.
It's much easier for people to shout what must be done rather than take any real action. They're the same people who would be shouting out the warmonger rhetoric when anyone, especially the US takes any sort of action.
Wow, I'm so glad I found you here since the other thread locked. Let' continue where last we left off:
When last we spoke you called me a liar claiming you didn't say anything derrogatory. So, in case you're memory fails you, here are your little tidbits you posted about another member:
"raphael118: MAN NO WONDER YOURE SO VICIOUS AND ANGRY ALL THE TIME. YOURE GAY AND CONSERVATIVE? THATS SOOOOO SAD. I HOPE THINGS GET BETTER".
or perhaps this wasn't you either
"raphael118: CONRAD IS IN A BAD MOOD TONIGHT! MAYBE HE HAD A BLIND DATE WITH A BUTCH CONSERVATIVE LIKE THAT KAT CHARACTER HE WAS DEFENDING".
Not much to be misrepresented in those words are there? Care to continue or are you going to claim that wasn't you.
People who behave as you do are quite pathetic. Good luck squirming your way out of this.
Certainly has the potential for being twisted into something along the lines of Gaddafy becoming idolized as a freedom fighter and other's into defenders of the faith.
We're outsiders and I believe we will be treated as such.
I don't think we need blood on our hands at all but you make a good point, elections are close and that could very well be a factor.
As for Africa, they do matter but isn't that similar to the Libya situation. For their part, the US has invested heavily in Africa with the creation of African Command (AFRICOMM). Taht's helping to curb the spread of some of the problems. But, I wouldn't want to get involved militarily there either.
They sure are and they're being killed here as well. However, it seems to be more acceptable when they're killed by the Taliban or other insurgents rather than being killed by errant air strikes or other coalition activities.
Oddly enough, the Taliban aren't castigated like the ISAF forces are even when their attacks are directed at civilians.
Actually, that kind of talk has already started. When the news broadcast the story of Obama's speech re Gadhafi & Libya, even many Americans said, "Why can't we keep our noses out of other people's business?"
And most all of us are sick of being asked for help, then condemned before and after.[/quote]
I think you make a valid point. there certainly are people that do the best they can and still can't seem to makes ends meet. However, there are a lot of people who would rather spend the money they have on things they don't need rather than take care of the things they do need.
I don't believe there are many people in the US or anywhere else for that matter who would stand by and not help someone in need but there are many who do not like the idea of funding those who fail to take care of themselves when they have the capability to do so.
Contrary to what some people may think, there are a hell of a lot of people who would be satisfied to ride in the cart and have others take care of them. Not all, but a lot.
Well, it's a sad thing but some see this as an internal issue, I'm one of those.
But, if the world does help, and especially if the US helps, I hope the world remembers that we were asked to help. Even if asked, I predict more of the "The United States are warmongers" rhetoric in our future.
I think he needs help. Maybe he's clean, maybe not but the face he's shown the press lately clearly indicates a problem. I hope whatever the problem is, he deals with it soon.
Well, since the people in here are so inadequate, why don't you enlighten us. You wont because quite frankly, you guys and your subtle, sophmoric insults are a joke.
I don't support or defend being lied to. I support free speech. Certainly FOX has their share of BS but so does every other news network on the planet.
Many of the people provide prefectly good examples of what one must do to rid themselves of FOX news or any other new service i.e. don't watch it or change the channel. No one should force anyone to watch, do or believe anything. At the same time, if we're going to have free speech, then lets have equal footing for all. Taht's all I'm saying or have said. I would say the same if it were any network being banned.
RE: now we say who was best ever president of all time
