There are only large differences between the far right and far left. I'm kinda partial to the middle of the road types but the US seems to be unable to elect those people and the party(s) leadership do not support them either. It's almost as though it's an all or none mindset
It's not surprising that there would be a rise in activity of extreemists groups but it is quite sad.
The article you posted gives a pretty good insight to the newer methods these groups are starting to use. They wont really say they hate different races. Rather they say they do these things because they love whites. Kinda dumb when one thinks about it because I believe most people will see it for what it is. Hopefully their recruiting efforts fail.
Perhaps they were commercial aircraft going from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas. Then they would be going in the right direction.. I'm surprised no one else caught this.
I understand what you mean. Government grew under Bush (which is unusual wih the philosophy of the Republican party and unfortunately it will grow a lot more under Obama. We're already changing but I think we're changing in the wrong direction. I don't think we have to fear anarchy anytime soon in fact, I thnk we should fear the opposite.
Seems to me it was working just fine up until poor credit practices allowd people to buy beyond their means along with the corruption of many of our political leaders. But that's just my opinion and with that I have to ak the question "Why wouldwe wish to give politicians more control of our lives when they clearly do not have our best interests in mind?
It seems to me that farmers and most of the other people have been doing just fine without Uncle Sam's direction for the past 200+ years. While government is not evil per say, it is evil in excess. I don't need nor do I want government to dictate what I need. I'm a grown up and have figured that out all by myself.
When government comes in and dictates how a business owner runs his/her business' then they have gone too far. Anti-smoking laws are a great example of this. Who is government to tell me I cannot allow my customers to smoke? If some patrons do not wish to use an establishment because of 2nd hand smoke then they can stay out. It's that simple.
And I guess I'm a moron too because I know that we have the right to own firearms so that we may protect ourselves from the same blood thirsty creatures which can and will arise from too much government.
Unfortunately Conrad it's not only the left doing it. I don't understand how some of these folks can continue in office year after year while we the sheeple allow them to do so.
I think we can look at Afghanistan as a good example. One of the first things the Taliban did to ensure peace when they took over was to disarm the people.
I know I am... I'm Also pissed at Pelosi and company over their lies about not knowing about how the CIA was interrogating. Not because she lied (politicians do that) but because she did it knowing most of the people would know she was. She'll probably even get re-elected when she runs...
I believe there are quite a few here who do understand at least the basics and you're right, President Obama is not to blame for the current state of the economy in he US. However, his policies and budget projections are not only not helping thngs but they are in the long term going to make them much worse.
To me it's common sense. If I am in debt and do not have the means to make more money my spending is going to have to be reduced lest I become bankrupt.
Ironic actually, that does seem to be the attitude that's at least partially responsible for us having these financial woes now. We spent and spent on both the government and personal levels far beyond our means to repay and suddenly decided we could no longer afford that expensive house, credit card debts, etc... Now we're trying to spend even more on the national level with the hope the outcome will somehow be different. There's only so much the tax payers of this country can tolerate but I guess we're going to find out soon enough.
I do disagree with President Obama's economic policies.
Having said that and to be fair, he's not actually taxing charitable giving, he proposed a change in the tax deduction for charitable giving (a drop from 35 percent to 28 percent) for charitable donations from those making over 250K per year. This will more than likely result in a reduction of charitable contributions made from this group of people and will in the end harm the charities who would normally receive these donations. I believe an overall reduction has been quoted at between 3 & 4 Billion per year.
RE: Who’s the plumber on the Star Trek Enterprise?
Actually, I think they did have toilets on the original Star trek. I seem to remember lots of talk about the Captains log..
