I have heard the stories as well but never heard of one being substantiated via drug testing or any other means. Perhaps he did get away with something, perhaps not. Just seems to me that after 7 wins and countless drug tests he would have been caught at some point as others in the same profession have been caught during similar tests.
Until such time as there's some proof of guilt I would have to say he's neither hero or villan. I look at him as very successful and as a guy who had a lot of determination while facing very difficult challenges. Innocent until proven guilty..
Thanks and also thanks for posting the additional information. If both the victim and family are in agreement on what should happen in this case then it seems clear the father should be able to comply with his daughter's wishes. Seems the courts agree and the doctors and clergy do not. Sad thing.
This brings up another matter. I've always felt it was the clergy's job to provide spiritual guidance to the flock rather than trying to rule over them. I think this is why so many have left the church. Anyway, I wish they would provide their input and back off. But that's just me.
Very sad case. I faced a similar choice with my son right before his 2nd birthday. Spinal Menengitis got him. In the end he had zero brain activity and would never had been anything other than a body being force fed thru a tube. To me, he was dead already and I would have let him go. Fortunately, he passed while they were were hooking him up to a respirator so I didn't have to make that choice.
Anyway, I think my thoughts are pretty clear on what I would do in the case you mentioned. I don't believe we are ethically bound to keep someone alive who is either brain or clinically dead. On the lighter side, I do know some people who are brain dead walking around and posting on these forums.. OK, I'll shut up now.
No offense taken. I'm with you on inhumane treatment towards animals. I loved my pets when they were alive and I refuse to adopt another because I feel it would be inhumane to have one and not be able to spend quality time. (My job keeps me away a lot)
To me, the superbowl should be about football and have entertaining commercials which neanderthals like me can understand. It's one of our few opportunities to unplug and see how outrageous, creative and funny the folks at budweiser and others can be.
This commercial, while thought provoking gives me the feeling the catholic church is once again trying to make people feel guilty about something which is perfectly legal in the US and other places.
Hey Don, I was wondering what happened to you and Jackie lately. I'm really glad you'll be recovering from this accident. It would have been a real shame to have finally met you and then have something really bad happen to either of you.
I think you're right. It was wrong for Obama to do so and before we know it this comment will be twisted and spun into a "Obama is trying to limit freedom of speech" conspiracy. In this case I think he should follow Bush's example and ignore Limbaugh, Hannity and others like them. He's only fueling it.
