I work for a USG organization doing development, reconstruction and diplomacy projects throughout Afghanistan. I'm also retired military. It's interesting and challenging so I think I'll keep doing it for a bit longer.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid you're right. Whatever the solution is, it'll take a lot longer to get out of the mess than many think. Balancing the budget would not be that difficult to do but getting it to a point where we have a surplus to pay off the debt....
sounds like redistribution of wealth to me. Though Fascism has several different definitions and experts argue over what it specifically is, I think you're spot on with this comment.
Social welfare programs amount to $702.7 Billion + another $380 billion for welfare health care costs for a total of $1 trillion.
Defense equals $965.8. I didn't see any specific costs associated with Iraq or Afghanistan but if there is, it would of course show an increase.
Regardless, this does show that the costs of welfare programs are as substantial as Defense spending. Both of which I think are too high. And, like welfare programs, I think there's loads of waste in military/defense spending.
Now some are beginning to see President Obama for what he is and what he stands or doesn't stand for. Of course, Dude will never get it or at least never admit getting it.
Nope, you've kept this really above board, no names, etc... BTW, I would have done the same thing if I were in your shoes. In fact, my sister has my mom living with her and has for years.
I wouldn't worry about the opinions of anyone and heck, it's probably best you found this out early on.
I'm certain if you look hard eneough you can find a poll to say anything you like. Fortunately, I only had to look as far o one of your threads to find a negative and probably accurate poll regarding the chosen one.
That it is. I don't know about you but I was brought up with all these games and sports. I got hurt once or twice as did most kids. I turned out OK at least that's whet my shrink says.
Yeah, that was on the list as well. We may as well start cancelling the other sports because our children could get hurt and we need the state to step in and protect them.
After President Obama loses in 2012, please get some help. I'm going to be really concerned about you. I used to work with drug addicts and alcoholics and i've seen what withdrawl can do to people. I suspect you're going to have it bad.
RE: Who do you think will make the best United States President?
Thanks, I actually consider myself fortunate. Like anything else, it has it's good and bad days.
