So by you're lack of real logic. Drug addicts should forced to give up their lives and donate their whole bodies to the organ bank before drugs destroy them.
That's what the US government said when they put $4 a pack taxes on cigarettes. It was supposed to be for treating smoker related illnesses. Yet when you get health insurance you pay quite a bit more if you smoke.
Jenny I want to apologize. Apparently Toot has got a stick lodged up her butt and has decided to pick a stupid fight with me and it has spread onto your thread. I will no longer be responding to her on this thread so as not to disrupt it further.
I did, and as stated in it, there's more to the story than just making drugs legal. I'm not going to take the time to research and find out what some of them are. So here's my take on it. Drug addiction is more of a psychological problem, and some people turn to them regardless of whether there legal or not. For some, the only thing keeping them from getting into drugs is the illegal factor. Take that away and you get more addicts. Legal or illegal has no bearing on overdoses, people will still overdose and when you add more addicts you get more overdoses. Also addicts still need to buy their drugs so the most heavily addicted don't have jobs and turn to crime to fund their habits. New addicts will eventually become heavily addicted and if they had jobs they will lose them and also turn to crime. You just can't get around the fact that some types of drugs are a very addictive/destructive and cause a no win scenario which can't be solved by legalization. The underlying causes must be addressed in order to truly help those people.
For the most part making drugs legal won't stop crime or cut down on on overdoses. Most likely it will create more addicts and more people overdosing. You would also trade crimes of possession & sales for an increase in crimes to get the money to buy drugs to support new habits.
People by their very nature will either make or break a thread. Some threads stink and some don't. Whether a thread is political or about picking daisies, they are poster driven and we can choose to participate or not. As long as they are conducted within the T.O.S. there shouldn't be any reason to complain. The problem's not the subject matter but when things get out of hand. Sometime it happens when peoples emotions get the best of them, other times it's from people who make it their mission to disrupt threads. Especially ones written by people they disagree with or subjects they don't like. I happen to like political threads the most, and even though I think most threads that are started are really boring or just plain dumb. I don't make a habit of reading or complaining about them simply because it's their right to post them.
I don't go out of my way to compliment people on here. Frankly threads that interest me are for the most part tend to predominately be either informative or jokes related and rarely have any complimenting going on. But I will take jabs at people who have done the same to me in the past.
It continues to blow my mind even though it shouldn't. Perhaps it's because I look at things to logically. But I can't for the life of me understand why people continue to blame threads and people who start threads about politics, Trump or even Christianity. As has been pointed out before. If you don't like a thread about "insert thread topic here" you can exercise you right to ignore them Instead of complaining. The biggest problem with threads are trolls that make it their mission to disrupt any and every thread they don't like, or threads made by people they have a bone to pick with.
I didn't say tunnels haven't been dug, and I'm sure they will be dug in the future. But there are technologies to find them. So my question to you is. Why should that stop the wall from being built?
That's a big part of what's going on here with our Politicians who are supporting open borders. There not concerned for the little people who can't build high walls around there homes and are either provided private security or can afford to pay for it themselves. All they are looking for is either new voters to keep them in power or cheap labor or both.
It is of course your choice what you believe. God gives you that right. I choose to believe that I after my life ends here on earth I will have everlasting life with God in heaven.
Now here's the thing. If I'm wrong all I gave up were a few frivolous pleasures while I was alive. But if you're wrong, you end up in hell suffering for eternity.
RE: Make ALL drugs legal,............... take it away from teh criminals
Where do you get 99%? In this thread I counted 6 for and 7 against with a few who don't say either way.
