RE: METAL DETECTORS NEEDED IN ALL SCHOOLS

Less than 4 gun related deaths per 100,000.

Many could have been prevented by people doing their jobs.

The so-called statistics are crap when other outside factors and truths are taken into account of which they're not.

RE: METAL DETECTORS NEEDED IN ALL SCHOOLS

There isn't any way I would ever advocate taking a person's right to choose in such a demoralized society that exists today.

There are already schools with metal detectors and such in use across the nation. It's not entirely law yet.

Violence takes different directions with more victims when the ability to defend is taken away.

RE: METAL DETECTORS NEEDED IN ALL SCHOOLS

We never had to worry about these types of things much. Educational institutions used to teach, more parents used to parent, and kids used to play out side, and even have to use their imaginations with the toys they had from a young age.

Besides; haven't you heard many of the democrats speak? It's more important to allow our laws to be breached then more regulated in order blame every thing but the actual people involved(even when it's the failures of the people that allow the actions to come to fruition). It's not all mental illness. That's just one of the latest angles they're pushing as long as people will buy it. Sadly, that's not all.

RE: Long profile or short profile?

Considering there are a lot of profiles I've been through, where it sounds like they have time for and want all fun and games with additional demands; I would write a lengthy profile to make abundantly clear that life still dictates that I have to work, maintain responsibilities, and enjoy fun and games as time permits.

I get to see family quite a bit since many live somewhat close over all.

RE: "America First" - (to Mr R.. )

There is certainly merit to this view point.

RE: Where is God when a 100 km asteroid strikes earth and all life on the surface of the earth dies?

God does mention that he won't use water to destroy the earth again. He also mentions the next time will be with fire.

He doesn't say in what form. Ours with weapons? Solar flare? Asteroid? Natural disasters like volcanoes and earth quakes along major fault lines??

dunno

RE: "America First" - (to Mr R.. )

Interesting how much was done by past fakes that did nothing except destroy.

A lot of damages were done with double and triple standards. Division created with disastrous tactics foreign and domestic with killing policies to accompany them.

So now that there is an actual leader, standing up, and actual improvement over all; they are the threat.

Sadly, the threats were already created and there. Many are so twisted they saw it all as good and right. They want more of it. It doesn't matter what it costs others that won't be talked about or considered important. It's those things that are more important than the sick minded rants now that don't hold much truth or water for depth.

I'm not worried one way or the other if it can all be undone, diffused, set right again. The leaps and bounds toward improvements can't be denied. Nothing to stop people from ignoring and twisting them however.

I've no idea who the "R" person is; but maybe I'll learn more in the future. Until then, I'll continue to read what others say and wonder how they can't see their own words were already heavily into fruition. Why can't they just admit they are the same and are angry at watching it come undone into an actual better light?

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

One other thing Riz.

The whole idea of the being democratic is that certain areas or groups can't dictate for the majority. Otherwise, a few states would matter only. Our system is very democratic to make sure that all states can be counted.

Too bad it only seems to work in favor of the U.S. about once every 25 years or so.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

You're fond of BBC. Read a little closer. The negotiations are still trying to keep an economic hold and little more control.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

I couldn't help myself. It was clear she was clueless about what many of the citizens might actually be subjected too in her region.

She even thinks things are bad in the U.S. but information says the opposite in almost all directions and things continue to improve. At least while we still have a leader in favor of the nation and citizens. If the leader starts to slip too much; we'll let him fall. Plain and simple.

Interestingly enough, I have a Brit at work that thinks and says his country is so great. He won't answer the questions of why he's here and won't move back. He doesn't bash Trump any more like he used too.

Even in the U.S., information seems to reflect that the younger people are starting to understand better as things improve.

They're still a little like jelly fish with the Brexit scenario so far. I'm starting to wonder if they really want things to improve. Part of the reason the vote came about is because the people there, wanted the government to start working more for them instead of every one else. Now, it would seem they might all be afraid. The other case scenario is that they allow a second vote.

Their governing body is considering not honoring the votes by the way things read. A second vote may be a way for them to continue doing things how ever they want. It's not like the people can take a real stand or even fight back for that matter.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

I didn't bash your country.

I am however, going to bash your lack of information about your own country.

I know what the rough status of my country is. At least our laws allow for law abiding people to have freedom of choice and the ability to defend. Yours seems to have warped you into thinking victim hood is great.

over 320 million people in mine vs. around 65 million or so in yours.

I knew exactly what was being addresses just with title. It's a lot more than knifing.

I don't need your respect. I've felt bad for that whole region for many years because of the rights they don't have as the government pushes more on the citizens. I don't live there so not much I can do.

You don't even respect your own country to be able sit back like every thing is okay.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

Again you ASSume. I don't carry but I do have the background and training to do so.

I don't walk around with my head up my butt. Just because I don't live in an area where I feel I need too doesn't mean others don't.

Look at the U.K. stats. You talk but have no idea what you're defending or allowing to be victimized. No, you don't care about your country or fellow citizens. ONLY what YOU want to think and believe.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

at least you admit your country can't and won't protect the citizens in their entirety. The People of the U.K. didn't get to vote or fight for their fire arm rights.

Your crime rates are higher than you think. much higher than the U.S. in other areas because the people have to jump through hoops that they can't even use in their favor.

You really should look at the victim nation your ideology has helped to create by laying down and rolling over.

The last stats I found available for the U.K. were in 2015. I've known about them for a long time while searching for other information. 2016 or more updated might be available now.

My country is safer. It's hard to be invaded when the population is capable of helping to defend. Gun deaths by comparison pale to every thing else but people need to push an ideology not information. Breaking things down into individual stats, we still have less 4 deaths per 100,000 people, fire arm related. Not sure how much of that is suicide, police confrontations, etc. There are property crimes, etc.

What stats can you give for the U.K.? How about individual violations that come in various forms? The actual U.S. numbers show declines over the last 20-25 years.

When the U.K. in 2017 reports fire arm offenses up 27%; what does that mean? Some people didn't keep their permit up to date? I'm not seeing where you have the same rights or freedom we do in the U.S. at all. At least my daughters can legally protect themselves in public or at home.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

There isn't anything to disagree with. The ideology is that fire arms are a problem. There isn't enough here to represent the U.K. on any of it. Other ways to hurt people move in to fill the void and actually take more lives in the long run. Some even become more traumatic.

Gun powder was discovered. It has been developed and used. Only people can put things to bad use. The ideology is that people want to take other people's rights away for the actions of a few. Knives and other methods of higher death rates and/or harm to others will continue to go untouched.

The hunting narative is your concept of a useless argument. Millions of people just like fire arms. They have many uses. Protection is the highest of them all these days. More so because many others think making more victims is better than being able to take a stand and defend.

The U.S. fight for independence wasn't because of our freedoms. They wanted to take our guns then they could have better controlled our freedom. An continue to tax it how ever they saw fit by what ever means they wanted.

People that want to give and take rights away from others. do it for yourselves on a personal level. Leave the rest alone to make their own choices.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

It's not a comparison. It's more the fact that pushing one aspect of an ideology tends to ignore other types of ways people are using to hurt others. Other ways tend to grow larger and more out of control but they won't be reported if they can't be used for that one ideology.

Acid, like gun powder, was most likely an accidental discovery. They both became better controlled and developed over time for use.

Quite frankly, my youngest and I talk quite a bit about many things when we're at the firing range adjusting for windage and distance.

RE: Trump has spoken and believes the UK would be as safe as US citizens IF

At the risk if being further ignored and blocked by others for pointing out how stupid people have become; it's pointless to bring up anything about guns.

I think every government for most areas has the same information available for bills, regulations, and laws. Whether it's a parliament or other type. With that information, statistics are there some where as well. Vehicular homicide may be slightly on the rise, knifing is certainly on the rise. Not too long ago, I think there was one in China: 9 dead and a number injured from knife attack at a SCHOOL.

If people want to hurt, kill, and mame others, nothing will stop that. IEDs, poisons, blunt objects, sharp or pointed objects, vehicular, and more options will always be available and escalate. Many other type of crime exist. But for many areas, the balance has been largely removed from the people that would help keep better checks.

While actual U.S. gun violence concerning rifles is extremely low; other crimes will go largely ignored, foreign AND domestic, with greater threat to people and life, to push one ideology. Most will never touch the potential number of lives saved or crimes stopped from fire arms.

I say let these people's countries continue to be invaded and the citizens violated. They seem to like it. Most that think they know anything about "gun violence" or even "violence" in general, haven't looked at much of any thing substantial while ignoring all else to push one aspect of an ideology. Most that would allow other rights and safety to be violated, think of themselves with their "ideas", and to hell with every one else in the long run. As long as they're not being affected or under threat of any type; others that may be or could be, should be made easier victims because they say so.

RE: Nobel Peace Prize and our Brilliant US President.

Too bad you have nothing to back any of this up with as the economy improves in favor of the American people.

You have nothing to back this up with as our global standing is more from a position of strength instead of as terrorist supporters.

You have nothing to back this up with since calling out lies and bias from the media is also freedom of speech. How much retraction and correction has there been since Trump's landslide win over hillary?

Our freedom has actually expanded and our laws finally starting to be more closely followed starting economically and with immigration alone.

Tell me again what obozo's nobel peace prize was for? What accomplishment was it?

you're a special kind of funny.

laugh laugh rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Would you leave him/her for this

Certainly NOT!! scold

It may not be very peaceful but it's extremely petty to leave some one over.

RE: Nobel Peace Price and our President - Korea war is finally at rest

It's great news. I fully agree.

We have to be careful not to get too excited just yet. Trump did what he could to spur the talks. He even realized that meant partially stepping aside and getting others, closer to the fray, involved.

It will still come down to the two Korean leaders before any finality starts to sink in.

So sad that as one major issue may be coming to a close with a silver lining; another may begin as new light on the subject of Iran's "deal" and "dealings" may be coming forward.

RE: Nobel Peace Prize and our Brilliant US President.

I see many are still in denial of the improvements under Trump.

Not only in denial but still trying to apply obozo's actions and damages that started even deeper once he was basically handed the 2012 election like it was another type of nobel peace prize. Of course the voters that stayed home instead of voting cried their eyes out but those millions can blame themselves just as much for doing nothing but handing it over to him.

Trump isn't taking all of the credit or saying what's going to happen for certain.
He's giving a great deal of credit to China's influence with N. Korea. The current talk at the moment is putting an end to the 60+ year war along with neutralizing nuclear capabilities. Maybe Korea is on it's way to being a whole country again. It's happened with other countries so it would be a good thing to see it at least once more in my lifetime.

RE: Monogamous or Polygamous.

I don't think it was ever truly meant as a choice. People have chosen one or both at times depending on their "moods" and/or situations.

Even in much younger years when I focused on one person, the house hold, the commitments; I couldn't see where a person had time for others.

I've seen some of the commentaries and documentations of the polygamous situations and families. Even in the smaller ones, you could see a certain tension in some areas of the "home" waiting to explode.

Here, the way the topic is posed; I'm am taking for granted that it isn't any thing to do with cheating but an open, chosen, arrangement.

RE: Monogamous or Polygamous.

Monogamous.

Some say it's not easy to keep. I say it is. Nothing will ever stop "eye candy". There will be sights that arouse or catch certain attentions. Unless a person locks themselves up and never goes outdoors in public, there isn't any way to stop it. It's primarily fleeting at best any way.

Etiquette and respect seem to be more lost standards. The respect is knowing what you have and keeping in touch about what's going on with and with out each other. That doesn't mean stay glued to a damn phone. It means if something changes; either make the detour to let them know or pick up the phone and use it for something sensible instead of a life line.

The etiquette is having the respect for your other half, to not put or allow yourself open for bad situations to cause suspicions or other problems.

RE: What Would Become of California If They Exit the Union?

There's current talk of an actual vote being put on the california ballot this year, to split into THREE states.

It would still need congressional approval, at the least, no matter what the voter tallies say as far as I know.

RE: Profanity – do you swear a lot in real life?

I do use profanity.

Not much since I'm talking to and dealing with people a large majority of the time.

However, if it's a vehicle, machine, or electronic device I'm dealing with; all bets are off! Unless there are people around; then most profanities at the lifeless device(s) will stay generally, under my breath.

grin

RE: Robotics

Robotics has been moving in for a very long time. They still take people to keep them running and working properly. They require technicians at all levels; from the programming down to the work(s) being performed. In general purpose, maintenance, and long term upkeep; they're not cheap.

Luckily, so many products and environments aren't very good for AI since there are still many hand or man made parts that aren't quite reliable enough for programmed settings.

Of course, I think of them in a work sense and environment.

I think I'm more fearful of the idea that some think of them in a more "exotic" or intimate sense. barf

RE: Israeli snipers kill 16 Palestinian protesters and injure hundreds.

It's like listening to Hogg try to talk about gun laws when it was proven that law enforcement and people failed. Not the laws.

I don't have to say much. It's been covered that the 16 or so sniped in Israel, weren't random, out of literally THOUSANDS of people. Again, no one was going out of their way to kill innocents but media would have people think and believe the opposite.

Thousands of people along that wall. Estimates of about 30,000 or so. Only select targets and circumstances for live ammunition.

People are still going to actually try to make it sound like some type of slaughter instead of using available information?

Sadly, yes. Some, maybe even many, will.

RE: Main reason of being single....!!

It's easier at the moment given the age of my youngest while most around my age, seem to no longer have the responsibilities.

I don't have to worry about choosing sides as I guide my youngster rather than attempt to shield them.

Sad to say, but it's obvious they will still learn many things the hard way unless they remember, think, learn, work, and try paying attention to more than one or two aspects of things.

Not a bad outlook for them over all at the moment, listening to their plans and goals. It can change over night with just one major mistake or a knowingly bad choice.

RE: Would the World be more peaceful without as much of the USA throughout it?

I voted other.

Too many politics being played over the years; I agree. Would I like to see the U.S. less involved with world affairs? Yes.

Many countries, including some bad ones, benefited from industrialization. Ford lost track and control of it's German counter part after a couple of "power of attorney" changes. Fordwerke. Ford had grown and taken on as an "LLC." with their European counterparts from as early as 1909.

Trade and profit was the goal of many companies and corporations at the time. Let's not leave out just about ever country wanting to expand and grow. ALL of this globally before, during, and after both world wars. The depression hit. Some bad people managed to grow better and faster than others so every one still needs something to point a finger at.

Had Germany not declared war on the U.S. after Japan brought us into it; it's more than possible we'd not know the difference that we ARE different instead of all blond and blue eyed or what ever might have been the potential for the other outcome.

I can't say there would be more or less peace because it hasn't happened that way to know one way or the other.

I just know for certain what types of politicians to NOT vote for in the hopes of continual, shrinking involvements. At least there's finally some finalization happening in some areas winding down after years of needlessly, being drug out.

RE: Do you know who likes or dislikes you here on forums

Does it really matter?

People have different lines of right and wrong.

Too many times people will ignore the basic, upfront, things and topics to focus on "A" thing or topic.

Quite often, people will ignore the wrongs in some areas to try and create wrongs in others that they prefer to use.

Throw these things together and more; there are going to be people that like and dislike others.

What's the bottom line at the end of each session online? Are you still focused on your own area(s), life, and what you have to or are going to do daily? Are you going to keep track of those days marked on the calendar for certain events and activities deemed important to keep? Are you going to continue to keep track of your job and any other things you want or need to stay updated on? Some are retired in one form or another and the "job" part may no longer apply.

Life isn't complicated. People, along with other things create complications. The good news is; nothing online should be a part of any day to day reality.

RE: Draining the swamp

Headlines of recent, state that Comey's story will be heard soon.

Another report indicates a level of "TNT" type explosion with what the Inspector General is preparing to release concerning our "FBI" agency and more.

There have been recommendations for dismissal of more than a few people. Why is it that when some one is dismissed, it becomes a Trump cover up?

We watched hillary and others being covered for as well as supported on top of it, for eight years and not a word was said. No action taken on behalf of the nation or citizens.

I don't dive much into conspiracy. There isn't any conspiracy when things continue to happen out in the open and no controls step in to correct it.

Proof of continued failures on the part of people and agencies, yet other ideas are pushed instead. The scary part is that people buy into those pushed ideas rather than see the plain actions in front of them.
