RE: Now what IF you meet MR / MS Right here on CS or else where

Can't fathom it. Most of my yearning for travel was burned out long ago. Any thing out of country now is a vacation and going that far now hasn't been a remote thought. I haven't left the U.S. since 2001.

I've considered the possibility of a long distance relationship. Maybe if it's with in 12 hours or so drive. If things are meant to be, discussions on how to make that trip short to none will settle it. Time is potentially scarce so I don't bother with many things for a variety reasons.

Too much time a part, could easily dim the light.

RE: what attracts you most about someone

It's based on the individual. Each person has their own qualities. I couldn't choose any of those choices on the poll.

I certainly try to stay cautious with the physical attraction since it's generally the first thing that might catch attention. It can easily be drowned out by other traits over time.

RE: The Declaration of Independence

applause thanks

RE: dooms day .... which known listed threat can and should be resolved first?

Why isn't politics on that list?

That is truly our worst threat. Creating problems where there aren't and shouldn't be any instead of just doing and addressing what needs to be done.

epirb has a strong, valid threat too. Another problem created from politics.

I didn't read ALL of the posts so it's possible some one already mentioned it.

RE: Paris agreement and nuclear

Wind turbines aren't worth what's put into them economically. 2-3 gigawatts or so won't make up for the cost of building, upkeep, and the eye sore they are to the landscape.

Solar panels actually create millions of tons of toxic sludge from beginning to end. Also not good to tear up the landscape for the space they require. Renovations have been made in recycling but the byproducts are proven deadly and also make land useless in the event of an accident.

It would be great if hydroelectric and geothermal were accessible for all but it's not even close. A broken damn or maybe a volcano suddenly forming and going off aren't good for human health and life in the immediate areas either but at least they're a lot more natural.

Nuclear is known. Renovations have been made on it as well. Studies and power plant building still continue. Being able to recycle was and still should be a major goal. Fission or fusion? We would still come out ahead energy wise to continue working on it like some of the care and renovations put into the falsehood of some of this not-so-green energy they keep trying to dump down our throats.

Either way and no matter what type, they all have their hazards and draw backs. I'd prefer something that will do what's needed and have to build less, since the two best aren't feasible for all.

RE: Paris agreement and nuclear

Cloud seeding isn't weather control. It's a modification that only works under certain criteria required in the clouds.

Natural gas is good. I still think coal is good to use too. Nuclear isn't bad either. It just requires a heck of a lot more caution.

I would like to see less interference from politics, regulations, and more. Can common sense be used with the knowledge and experience already gained when making guidelines and laws? It certainly doesn't seem possible much these days.

RE: Can humanity be saved?

Leaders and/or representatives. Many are bad and only some are good. There are very real issues plaguing the world that they talk about. The actual depth and details we may never know.

What I see is that certain types keep vying for more power and control. It also seems to me they've decided extreme measures are now allowed towards that goal. Instead of being people, we're now being torn down and apart by race, religion, class, and any other scare tactic they can muster.

The obvious wrongs are dismissed, rationalized, pushed, and supported. Any thing that might hold a solid base; truth, ethics, and self accountability are continually being eroded away.

Things are being pushed as a problem with society instead of individuals. When individuals were holding themselves more accountable, independent, and other more ethical actions, society was actually pretty strong and over all supportive.

Do you think those leaders and representatives might possibly discuss the potential of a population problem vs. what we need to sustain it?

I'm more worried about the measures they will continue to take. They're at the top of the food chain(s) in human terms and levels. They certainly don't seem to collectively hold any actual reasoning or values as far as their respective constituents. Often, any more; maybe not even their own countries or territories.

Any radical actions now, governments, factions, activists, and more, aren't really any thing new. They're just more notably increased and wide spread. All this due to larger populations and better access to potential information with much better technology.

Since it's technically "us", as in the people, doing it to ourselves with large populations buying into those leaders and representatives showing the opposite of what they should be doing; Maybe in the long run, we don't need to be saved because the planet might enter into another phase of it's cycle after we've just about killed ourselves off.

Maybe we should be looking for a solar flare or extremely large comet for a quicker resolve all around.

Quite frankly, if humanity is going to be saved of our own accord, it's going to be the people more at the top of the food chain(s) that might ultimately be the ones making the call on who, when, and where in the long run.

I'm not seeing many silver linings at this point in the long run. There are a number of things expanding, being pushed, good and bad. The clock is ticking.

RE: Paris agreement and nuclear

It does provide the energy we need.

It's actually very clean when running. Less toxic waste than solar panels but certainly more deadly that we know of. Exceptionally more cost effective and efficient than wind power.

It's scare tactics people have bought into. Yes, it can be very deadly if not managed properly and a nuclear power plant blows up. Most should be built and kept up with in more isolated areas and would still provide what we need.

Quite frankly, I think the CO2 damages they push are a crock. Now we're going to control the weather? When has man ever taken "control" of any thing that he didn't screw up or was just plain wrong about?

We're cooling... no we're warming,....the polar ice caps have expanded...etc. The name was switched to "climate change" for a reason. I think it has more to do with money, politics, and regulations than any thing to with "saving the planet".

RE: If there was a mistake

I'd have it wired back from where it came from and make sure I keep the receipt.

RE: Kathy Griffin - "He broke me"

Terrorism was the first thing that came to mind. Like she was auditioning to join a faction or maybe already a part of one. There was clearly a deficiency of common sense and reasoning. Either that or surplus of evil and a taste for all things vile.

It makes me sick to think how easily some people will target children as it is. It's not just about Trump or Barron.

Beheading and terrorism seem to go hand in hand these days. A real action that takes place as one of the most barbaric things humans still do to one another in some parts of the world.

To see anything positive in such an image, can never be a good thing on any level. We're not talking about Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, George Carlin, and other comedian types funny.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

I'm still waiting for signs of intelligence with any useful information.

It's easy to insult, or at least try too.

It's much harder to read around and gather information.

Wait, I almost forgot. You watch the news and listen to politicians so you're all mad about the 1%. I listen enough to know I should be reading and looking around.

If that information is so useful and people actually know what they're talking about, how much has bill gates paid out in taxes? how about some of those other 1%ers?

Of course the companies they work for or built make these huge profits. Operating costs, payroll, taxes, regulations, and other laws all cost $. You do realize they still have the laws, attorneys, and more, to ensure refunds even though they might pay in million of dollars?

All huffed out over every thing unknown and not actually any of our business. But let's listen to the news and certain politicians.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

Even as a kid growing up, certain grandparents would makes ALL of any grand kids present, sit and watch the news with them.

We had current events regularly in school of course, sometimes a specific topic given and the several sources put together to come out with something reasonably plausible. Of course not every one watched or read the same sources so we may not have fully comprehended the usefulness of the teacher's tactics at that time.

One under lying thing stayed the same among all. We were always warned that there was more than a condensed report could or would tell us and that maybe it would come out over time. One other thing noted was to read above and beyond when ever possible.

I don't recall any point or time that I was ever prompted to like or trust politicians, let alone, government in general. Just that some did better than others in certain areas here and there.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

I've been through this. And a whole lot more. We've been over that some have lawful rights outside of the U.S. For some of their resources. We've been over the fact most use tax laws legally. It's even been studied that all together, they couldn't support the nation but maybe 3-4 years if they carried all of the burden. It doesn't matter that you like being lied to and soak it up like a dry sponge so that every one elses' pockets should be ours. You didn't build it, and neither did I so stay out off of them unless you're paying what they are with all of the over head and legalities that go with it.

Trumps 2005 returns mysteriously ended up in a report. I guess you deliberately miss those types of things.

People need to get their head of out politician butt holes and realize there's more being payed out than any are going to let you know or are even obligated to let any one know unless it goes to a federal court.

Those people have made their fortunes. Instead of trying to pin anything on them, envying them enough to think they're obligated to you or any of us beyond what they're doing for markets and economy, why aren't people looking at the politicians that cater to lobbyists, foreign countries: Hillary and obozo have quite a track record with Russia and others. Actually traceable. Pharmaceuticals are freaking huge. Who let them get that way and why?

Try going to the sources for what's trying to be done and addressed. Always a waiting period but the information is there sooner or later.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

I responded to a part of one of my quotes that you seem to think I watch the news.

The one percent hasn't destoyed the working class. Regulations and taxes did. Nothing as bad as obama's regulations and taxes. But of course certain people are right.

Blind, clueless, light bulb burning dim in your attic...I responded correctly.

Some people just have no memory or comprehensive skills are low on fuel.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

You're right.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

So that 2%or less growth rate under obozo helped the nation and economy? Are you even aware of what the rich pay out in taxes?

That's the trick right there. I don't watch the news. That 1% couldn't support the nation for long even if they were taxed at 70%. Whens the last time to paid 10's-100's of millions in taxes a year? When was the last time you owned a major company or corporation that employed hundreds to thousands of people with retirement and healthcare benefits?

When was the last time you read what the affects of regulations and taxes are on a country's economy? When was the last time you read anything about U.S. presidents with actual growth rate and what they did to achieve them?

I can't believe how people talk about the rich but truly have no clue. Not every one can be rich just like not every one is poor. Get over it. With out those able to expand, grow, and employ, there is no economy.

RE: Anti Trump propaganda

Trump is already miles ahead of obozo as far as the nation first.

There is actual information available for the cuts, spending, deregulation, healthcare, and more.

I agree with most of them. Especially the apprenticeship instead of tax payer funded education with no guidelines. Many of the spending cuts are just. Why is the federal government involved with certain things globally on our tax dollars in the first place? Some of those cuts shouldn't have had the federal government involved at all from the beginning.

Even the false hood of catering to the rich. Where do the jobs come from, often with healthcare and other incentives for people to work? How does an economy even begin to thrive if not enough people are working, spending, and investing? That's what those corporations, companies, and businesses do as they take on more employees and offer benefits as incentives as they are able too; investments.

Where does the government get it's money from? How does that happen if there aren't any people able to offer jobs, start businesses, grow, develop, and expand? We need that with in the country since it doesn't do much good to have products dumped from out side of it. How long before people are no longer able to buy the products? Then what? We become like some of the other collapsed countries and worse down the road?

Education, healthcare, and other subsidies should actually be on the states. They were there for decades before the federal government began to heavily usurp control and authority. The feds continued to expand, tax, regulate, and even fine to the mess we have now. All for votes since they can't seem to use any logic or common sense. The states were doing a better job on their own originally. The system was meant to be there as supplemental in case of need, not career moves. Yes, it had limitations for a reason.

Other things around the globe and locally? Many smoke screens while real perpetrators continue to have their tracks covered and worse still, ignored.

The foreign policies so far aren't the best but better than obozo by miles. I think Trump has made it clear the days of hand outs and turning the other cheek to offer the cheeks of the U.S. citizens are pretty much over.

Frankly, I'm at the point where I no longer care if war were to hit. Get it done and over with if that's what's in the future. I doubt many would be touting the "Geneva convention" rules and such. The U.N. isn't going to act. They should have started to do so under obozo but I doubt he had any intentions of quelling things since he was too centered on bringing the country down to new lows while fueling other things to new highs.

We're still in the watch and see stages while politics continue to be played out at tax payer expense. All of the evidence in the world for some people that they ignore and won't act on. Digging like rabid dogs looking for bones with little to nothing against others.

RE: More proof manufacturing jobs wont return to the USA

Still along way to go. I'm not sure seasonal adjustments will hurt since it's seasonal work that's starting back up again. Actual employment is on the rise. Full time and better wages at that.

We'll have to see just what type and how much in the longer term. I think I read that one month was already thousands better than expected.

RE: Macron & Le Pen Second Round

It's going to affect the people of France the most.

I say let them research their choices and past track records for their country. I follow some but the people of France are the ones closest to the fray.

I'm not rooting for any one in another country. I'm not directly affected enough for deeper information nor a voter for the respective regions to actually add to differences.

It's nice to gain insight from some of the residents just the same.

RE: hunger in venezuala

bogart already mentioned much of what I've only touched the surfaces on.

I like more history to go by but at a glance with other countries and regions I've read about, it always seems the woes might be more government based. It wouldn't be a surprise there. The U.S. isn't the only country by far where the largest problems might generate more from the top down.

Throw in the global competition for good measure.

I'd partially like to know more about it. I would rely more on people from the region as to what and why. I think they would have better ideas on how to solve some of the situations too.

RE: Which Trump personality You like The most

No reform yet. That's why I use the term "proposed brackets". People already jumping with out any real details. Actually, when someone thought they had a scoop on trump, it turned out that he paid in tens of millions on about 2-3 hundred million or so.

Again. People think they know. People think his brackets cater to the rich. Interesting just how much the rich pay out. Some of whom still pay more in one year than most will even fathom in their total income in a life time. Most of that from the rich following the laws and trying to be legal. So should the tens of millions of people working with active jobs give the middle finger to their RICH company owners and walk? How about government workers being paid on tax dollars knowing how much is wasted from the backs of the tax paying workers? Personal income taxes, pay roll taxes, then business taxes.

I can appreciate being able to decide where more of my income goes. It will be across the board. Not just my bracket(s).

Consumer spending and investment also adds greatly to economic growth and expansion. Hard to do that under a thumb where regulation and taxes make it little to none.

RE: Which Trump personality You like The most

Not picking on you dream, but your quote not only makes sense, it reminds me of how some those fish fared much better with the policies people think obama "addressed?". Some did billions better even in returns, while the people continually lost.

Any one aware of how some large businesses were able to gain billions in tax refunds while showing tens of billions in profits all the way up to 2013? I think some of it was at it's highest from about 2010 to 2013. They gained even more through loop holes as time went.

Trump's proposed brackets look okay to spur growth and more. It's the loop holes we're looking for to be addressed so they can't keep dodging. There isn't much we can do for out of country loop holes except maybe other potential proposals, to recoup what they think they're getting away with.

Funny how that works. It's some one elses' fault and it's going to cause this or that, or they did this even they didn't, but politicians have been continually getting rich and eroding things for the people and nation all along. People think things got like this over night. It got this way because the same people complaining and trying to shred now, collectively ignored the decades, things were already going into decline.

It took an outsider to get things more on track through the 80's and it might be the one thing to turn it around again. By the time obama got in, they had regulation, legislation, and ruination almost to a science to succeed with maximum damage, in just eight years.

RE: If you had a serious, life threatening disease, would you tell people ?

Only if warranted, would I say anything.

The option of any intimate relationship would the off the table completely. Any one that might be thinking in those lines would deserve to know and why distance is kept.

Select family members would deserve to know.

Other than what's stated, silence on the part of the people with the truth of the situation would have to be a must. It's always easier said than done, but no one gets out alive so no reason for people make a fuss or feel bad about. Including myself.

RE: Is TRUMP good FOR AMERICA and TO the WORLD

There's still a long way to go. Good for America? Deregulation for growth has already begun. That's a good thing. Nothing long term will happen over night for most improvements. We'll have to get our educational standards back up to what it was around the late 80's to early 90's before the federal government decided it knew what was best at the least. It tends to screw up every thing it touches that's good and working.

Good for the world? It's not our job to support it. Time will tell here too. Will the world be able to work with the older America that might be coming back into play as an independent, self driven, and leading developmental nation? The regressive, whiny, crap we've become over the last 8-9 years, has been very disheartening.

The fact that Trump will conduct retaliatory actions with out announcement is good. It's a little harder for some areas of the world to play games when they can't say for certain there won't be ramifications.

Agree with the the Syria strike? No!. It does send a clear stance as mentioned previously.

I won't agree with every thing as expected. As long as the direction goes more forward than backwards, there won't be too many complaints in the long run.

Much too early to tell on most things but it is looking potentially better, so far. I didn't cast a vote because "too early to tell" wasn't an option.

RE: Should Trump move his own business interests and money back to America too?

It's been while. So what do you call a U.S. government that has made laws, regulations, and agreements to allow all of that out sourcing and job loss on a large scale since 1993?

You say about 144 or so what ever over seas? Where's the other 350 or so?

You don't comprehend that the intention of "fair trade" might be?

I'm not missing anything. Should Hyundai and Toyota pull out of the U.S. now? They're not the only foreign investors trying or that would like to grow in the U.S.

If you can't see the larger picture of what's trying be addressed, maybe you shouldn't post stupid polls?

RE: Should Trump move his own business interests and money back to America too?

I think people are missing the point. Out sourcing has become cheaper and easier than many operations here in the U.S. Trump hasn't denied any of it and in the world of business, for profit margins, none will pass or miss the opportunities if they can afford it. Trump is vested in about 500 different companies. He's a rider with other investors in many areas as well. No telling how much more he might have given up turning potential partners away knowing he was going to be a U.S. president during the campaign and election processes. Trumps golf courses and hotels are fixed. It's not likely that they're moving many , if any, imports and exports out. His manufacturing companies follow right along the lines our own government has allowed since NAFTA, GATT, and other agreements.

Companies are moving or outsourcing outside of the U.S. paying tens to hundreds of millions of dollars less in over head, companies like the automotive industries, then making billions shipping it back in and selling it. Mean while, we've taken job loss hits across the board in many industries. There are hundreds of thousands lost further to regulations and taxes.

Our manufacturing and production are in the tank. Our energy field jobs are hit pretty harshly too. Toyota isn't even a U.S. based company but have become one of the top five manufacturers in the nation. Hyundai isn't a U.S. based company but making investments. Automotive is a huge industry and a large boost but it's not enough or the only type of industries we want or need, let alone, lost or losing.

Our economy is being ravaged as we continue to import tens of billions of dollars worth of product, more, than we export. It isn't even remotely sustainable with out actual jobs.

Technology isn't the reason we're down over 5 million jobs. Technology on the scale sometimes promoted will never replace the jobs lost. It's true that technology will be the reason not as many jobs will have a chance to come back, but we would still be millions of jobs ahead compared to now if we have enough incentive for investment and growth.

There's a larger circle. It's not to stop trade or doing business with foreign countries. If it happens with certain products or areas but helps the nation, then so be it. We even have one of the cheaper import tariffs. We're making too many investment every where else and not getting enough in return. Until some actual policies and regulations change, growth isn't going to happen much.

Do you really think some one will rip up a golf course or hotel to relocate it over seas? That doesn't even make any sense to suggest. They will continue to build them new or renovate newly acquired old. How about manufacturing plants? Again, best to re-open or start new. Is it possible that local manufacturing could cause foreign manufacturing to shut down? I think it's pretty obvious on that lat question. There are many more investments and businesses than these. that Trump is vested in. Even if he wasn't currently POTUS, not all of his investments are under his control or say any way.

RE: Why UN is anti Israel?

That is the problem. I'm not afraid to say that I am no longer sure just what the U.N. is for any more. Dismantling it might be a better move.

It was the U.N. that helped to give Israel their lands back. It was the U.N. pulling security between the 2nd and 3rd Arab-Israeli war before Egypt had them leave. It's the U.N. that is supposed to be upholding sanctions against any country they're put on and performing inspections according to guidelines during those sanctions. We've seen quite a bit over all as to how and what it can help with.

A place for world leaders to meet to help decide the fate of the world on major issues such as poverty, development, disarmament, etc. Hard for me to describe but it's doing and controlling much more than it should be. Maybe more like slowly taking a lot of actual sovereignty away from individual nations and countries of the world the longer it's allowed to continue. It's not exactly a court of law or considering major events as they have happened from history to present, and certainly not upholding many past decisions. Leaders and representatives change much more, which doesn't help a bit. I can see where people might come up with a new world order theory.

If political powers join together for their own interests instead of the events, people, and situations, the U.N. is no longer useful. It's just another political tool to dictate over other regions where only the biggest and strongest will have control. Nothing in the way to save them unless veto power nations actually work to be fair. If a nation or more start a war and lose, they can live with their losses as punishment. There is currently nothing to make a country think twice as long as they have strong enough political ties in the U.N.

RE: Why UN is anti Israel?

Israel's 6 day war in history. Egypt was the charge as all surrounding countries were preparing to annihilate Israel once and for all(Lebanon seems to be a primary staging area). Most won't tell of the terrorism Israel was going through after the U.N. gave them their lands back. In defense, Israel decided to fight instead of laying down against all. They not only won against what were supposed to be impossible odds, they expanded their borders. Israel was in a forced situation and deserves those lands. The terrorism has never ceased and it actually helps them to secure much better. It most likely will never cease for many of the countries in that region. We're still not sure just how much is waiting globally.

As far as the U.N. goes, if we had a president in favor of our allies, the bill to prevent Israel from building would have been vetoed. There is a lot of speculation as to why Egypt didn't stand it's ground and continue to stall it.

With the ousting of morsi, the new Egyptian president, referred to as Sisi, has been able to actually increase ties with Israel, with out the U.S., and they are dependent on each other for many reasons; security and terrorism top the list as well as mediators in certain political ties for each other. It seems they have great capacity together, if they can truly trust one another while working together.

We should dump the U.N. On the down side, if we do, what do we risk as far as helping or maybe protecting some of our allies? We have an actual leader in favor of our allies and skeptical of known enemies or threats, there is a lot to iron out, and it may not be close to pretty with the major mess left on the global, political scale. Enough that I won't even try to say major conflicts will be averted. I just hope that they will be.

For people that refer to the Bible, it's foretold that Israel will never have peace, even after having been allowed to return to their lands. They will always have opposition. There is also written warning about leaning on Egypt.

RE: This site is so awesome

If it weren't for other views, forums and sites like this wouldn't be worth the bother.

If some find love along the way; major Bonus. thumbs up

RE: Trump has a problem

Be careful with the news. His actions so far actually charge him with being the first president actually trying to uphold his promises.

I didn't even read the articles associated with those headlines. I'm actually interested in him addressing real issues rather than a bunch of written rhetoric.

If obama's damages can speak so loud globally as well as nationally, we should be hoping that the same nation with the largest involvement and fault for them, may finally be able to start rolling them back.

Still seeing polls with his popularity and trust being on the rise. Polls don't hold much compared to what they used too. I never thought too highly of them to begin with.
