I honestly think it is due to the times in which they were raised, as well as myself. It stems back centuries I am sure. It was just always that way and it continued until the world had many changes. I was raised to think the same way. The woman stayed home, did all the household things, raised the kids and "took care of" the husband. Later as things like divorce and women moving into the work force came into play, things changed. Women decided they had a voice and a choice. BUT sometimes old traditions die hard painful deaths. The world is simply not the same as it was in Grandmother's time. Along with those many changes the attitudes of alot did not change. It is still expected, by some, that the woman should do it all, i.e., be employed outside the home, take responsibility for the home and raising the children. Ohhh plus...taking care of all the needs and wants of the husband.
