I guess I've been lucky with CZs. I have a couple (not engagement rings ) had them for years and there are no scratches, look the same as the day I got them.
No lie, my mother had an engagement ring that cost thousands of dollars and the diamond kept falling out because the parts holding it in kept breaking.
I don't have a materialistic bone in my body, and that's the truth, so I definitely don't need one. But because it's an such a huge part of culture have a fun time trying to explain why you're engaged and don't have a ring
