Well said, There are both women & men who actively choose NOT to have children by their Rights & others who cannot. Especially some women, - for medical reasons - BUT whatever choice decision & married or not, it is only the Couples business. NOT that of any Bible Bashers, Doo Gooders & Pushy Catholic Priests !!

It used to be that some people got married mainly for the married man's tax allowance here in the UK . - However - With my views as an agnostic when I got married & now widowed I have to say what I did to the canon who married us and later a bishop when asked why I wanted to get married and was married respectively - Bot times I said we love each other & to me God is neither existent nor parent so it is entirely the pairs choice.
Not too much of a problem these days - The Solid beams in the new tower could be Fabrcated & Possibly made stronger by using Feathered joint or Laminated timber with Iron braces over the joints inside, as there is / was a floor in the tower.
With restoration & maintenance which has been ongoing over the centuries, I would think Hopefully - In this case there will bound to be official records, material specifications, drawings & notes to refer to. !!
The implications that it might have been started due to the construction work is purely speculative until Compulsory & Obligatory Forensic & Structural investigations & examinations are concluded !!!
