Don't take it personally, and don't be so flattered. Most if em are just scanning to see who's online and sending out email en masse. They aren't taking the time to read or look, they're just sending out feelers hoping someone will but dumb enough for them to scam.

Why do I get emails from guys half my age? Got one yesterday from a guy in CA who said, we have so much in common. I wrote him back, yeah, only 25 years and 2000 miles separate us. Jeez, give me a break!

Something in between the two perhaps, but profiles shouldn't be too wordy and flowery, it just sounds fake IMO. If I read that first one, I'd skip out halfway through the second sentence. The only time I'll read a fairly long profile is if it keeps my interest by being witty and unique. Concise and informative is the key to keep in mind. All that honest ... loyal ... , just sounds like the boy scout motto.

Ok, just for the backstory, what does mastic mean? What age(s) are your kid(s)? What do you like to do in your spare time? 55 is not too young to be retired, so that shouldn't scare anyone off, they don't have to know from the get-go that you didn't retire just cause you wanted to. How long have you been divorced? What's it like where you live? Hey, if I'm gonna write a profile I need to know everything!

You know this means if you get a date outta it I'll have to play Cyrano when you go out and tell you everything to say!

We don't forgive another for them, we do it for ourselves. Carrying bitterness around only hurts us, not them. Forgiving is not condoning, it doesn't mean we're saying what they did was ok, cause in these instances it clearly wasn't. Forgiving means that what they did no longer has any hold on me anymore. Actually the only one who has the power of forgiveness is God, but when we practice forgiveness, it simply means we no longer carry that hurt and hatred in our hearts for them. We forgive them in order to release ourselves from their power over us.
