Firstly, are you sure that's right? Geographically yes, but was it not Sumeria and the first city Ur???

Anyways, my vote would go to the Greeks, as even though a progression was already put in progress, it was the ancient Greeks that made the greatest advance towards a civilised society.

I live on the doorstep of little Lithuania!!!!

In Edinburgh, one of the 2 biggest football teams is called Hearts, or Heart of Midlothian to give them their full name, anyway, the chairman is a Lithuanian millionaire called Vladimir Romanov, and it seems every other foreign player he bankrolls played for Kaunas!!!!

So yes, I know a bit about Lithuania!!!

You've seen in a previous thread that I have a soft spot for AC Milan. but it's hardly an achievement is it??? I mean Chievo....!!!!! They've only been in serie A for a few seasons, and before that they were Verona's 2nd team, a bit like Genoa or Torino in comparison to their bigger neighbours!!!
