Personally speaking I refuse to chat to anybody that doesn't have a photo up. I mean if you went into a bar and every lady had a brown bag over her head would you pick one??
My 'shopping' tactics are mine....I rather be safe than sorry,i do not feel the need to always use these 'shopping'tactics as my gut feeling would be good about a person and has prooved right..

What about abusive people? I for one don't wish to get involved with someone that is physically abusive. So I check them out
In answer to your question i check if my gut kicks in,i never ignore my gut that is usually before or shortly after meeting..not point checking after you don't close the gate when the horse has bolted!

None of us are ever too old to learn,we are learning all the time..if we didn't learn,then we would have problems...in a few days or a week you will realise it's the image in your head that tricked you and that you are better off without a person like this in your life.
Online dating is an eye opener of what people are really like.
Obviously I don't know the circumstances but believe me he did not change drastically in a moment...he slipped up on his act..it's very easy to get an image of someone in our head and believe that this is what they are like as this is what they portray but they usually slip up...if you had a doubt or your gut was suspicious something wasn't quite right it's time for the antennas to go up..
Always trust your gut,lesson learned and just be grateful you saw it at all..
