Definitions must be placed in context…. For example, Aristotle stated that the vain have a blown up self-image, but they are not worthy of it. Hume said that "vanity is rather to esteem’d as a social passion, and a bond of union among men.

The marketeers in society says that in order for us 'Not to be Judged' (apart from it being a multi billion pound industry) then we must buy into all or some of those treatments in order to fit in with the beautiful, successful and rich. An ever increasing amount of men are also buying into this concept... Our material and not natural world. However, the vast majority of women and men dress up in order to make themselves feel good.. There is something liberating in that... the opposite does not appeal to either the material or natural world; in my opinion...
