The latest bank scandal is shocking and I am really pissed of that when we the tax payers helped them in their time of need, they are now not doing what they meant to be doing which is handing out loans. The loans I refer to are mortgages. The banks are trying to keep property prices high in support of their builder pals. People have gone in to get a mortgage and have been told they can't get it as they don't do mortgages below a certain monetary level.
This is an outright disgrace. I read about a person who wanted to buy a house on the affordable housing scheme and as Bank of Ireland are listed as one of the banks who provide mortgages for this scheme they went to that bank. They were told that they qualified for €150,000 mortgage, but the bank would be unable to provide them with a mortgage as the purchase price was under €250,000.
The Govt should sue the banks on our behalf for doing this. It is discriminatory and should not be allowed to happen. Why can't people wake up and smell the coffee and tell the banks where to go.
The banks of course deny this is happening even though proof is all around this. Why should we the tax payer pay for the banks to get greedy with the developer/builders. Its like a cosy cartel and as aren't cartels illegal under Irish Law?.
There has been oil in Brazil for years. I lived there in the early 70's as my father who worked for an oil company who were there drilling for oil. They have had an office there for over 25 years now.
Would a bartering system work where instead of getting paid money you could swap services or products with each other. For example a farmer could swap corn for bread with a baker and may hops and barley for beer wit a brewer.
