Members of Eagles have described the album as a metaphor for the perceived decline of America into materialism and decadence. In an interview with Dutch magazine ZigZag shortly before the album's release, Don Henley said: “ This is a concept album, there's no way to hide it, but it's not set in the old West, the cowboy thing, you know. It's more urban this time (. . . ) It's our bicentennial year, you know, the country is 200 years old, so we figured since we are the Eagles and the Eagle is our national symbol, that we were obliged to make some kind of a little bicentennial statement using California as a microcosm of the whole United States, or the whole world, if you will, and to try to wake people up and say 'We've been okay so far, for 200 years, but we're gonna have to change if we're gonna continue to be around.' ”
Good question....and I am imminently qualified to answer it, having been here a total of 9 months myself...
October can be a good month, but using last October '08 as an example, the wind picks up, and the rain clouds come...but you can get lucky..temp-wise it's quite ...in fact it can be fabulous...
I love swimming, and I like to extend my swimming season as long as possible...the only problem is, the med is a quiet ocean during the summer months....towards winter it gets cranky, and the wind picks up...the water temps in October are just great...BUT, it'll be the wind, and the waves that keep you out of the water...jmo..If you google temps in Malta for October, you can get 25 degrees...and 16 degrees in January....I can tell you that last january was freezing here....lows somewhere around 6 or 7....so 25 degrees for October is a guess, and a wish...
