Whoa!!....from the thread title, you're asking why so many other nationalities are interested in American politics...my answer to that would be because we're fed american TV a lot of the time...CNN, SKY, Hollywood etc.."You is what you watch"...as they say in the tropics...

JB, there is an old saying, "Know they enemy"....you need to first understand her motives and motivations behind this woman's behaviour before the best solution will present itself. What is driving her to propagate this politicking against you?...Mobbing, back-stabbing, character assassination, is all evil and nasty, but to deal with it you have to understand in depth the nature of the beast. Usually it's an individual who feels insecure in themselves, paranoid about competition in some form, or challenged by you/your success/ your rank/ your clout/whatever...there is some reason why this person is behaving this way. it's usually the hallmark of a weak person, who cannot compete on an even playing field. If she is simply someone who cannot handle authority figures, and is using any means possible to blacklist you, then crush her, apply authority, it's the only thing she will back down to, she will only take any gesture of rapproachment as weakness...it's the only way. If she is a misdirected, insecure colleague who is misinformed, then take her under your wing, and use human psychology to placate her...one way is soft, the other hard...jmo.
Usually, these stories have a gruesome ending....this one is somewhat happy....the victim is still alive, but how do you rebuild a life when you have lost 18 years??.....unbelievable!!!...
Compassion is: getting a phonecall from a female buddy, and listening to her story of tears and tribulations in silence, and not interrupt her by trying to 'fix' it...when will I ever learn this??!!..
Bodie, I just don't get it. I live next to a lovely little bay that is very popular with holidaymakers...Surprisingly, there are actually quite a lot of fish in the reefs here. I have also seen some serious-sized tuna as well...I was speaking to one german tourist, who was also excited about the sea-life. Two days ago, I saw him, plus 3 other people spear-fishing in what is actually a very small area. Result??....all the bigger fish are gone, and the others are far more wary of swimmers...I don't get it...people manage to screw up everything...

I prefer Whiskers...but only with soy sauce and a sprinkling of fresh parsley......my cat will eat Post Toasties if there's nothing else....
