RE: Bye bye Greece

Rizlared,

One more point... (I don't want to repost your post to me, but it's about where you said all citizens are responsible for their government).

I take it then that you also are saying that all Greek people are responsible for the government that got them into the mess in the first place. I'd appreciate if you didn't make excuses for the corruption and the capital flight of the rich shipbuilders who took their money to England, Switzerland and elsewhere.

There is a BBC documentary on youtube where one such wealthy man is interviewed and says: "I don't pay taxes. Our government is corrupt. Why should I pay taxes to them".

So who really is more deserving of hate?

RE: Bye bye Greece

By the way, one Greek member here sent me a private email saying this:

"Pointing fingers about the atrocities (aka Israel)to others.
Am sure you agreed, what your parents and grand parents done to the
Jews during WW2 inside Germany and the occupied by Germans countries.
The worst atrocities by one nation to another, in the History of
man kind.and that done by Germans.Am sure you feel very proud,
being one, or beeing of German decent."

I'd like to know what I posted that prompted this hate mail.

RE: Bye bye Greece

Greece was not strongarmed into the Euro. It was a political decision and the country borrowed too much money at low interest rates without having the ability to pay it back. They borrowed billions to build the olympic stadium which now serves no purpose. That's just one example sort of like Alaska's bridge to nowhere or the Mexican border wall where money was thrown out the window. Greece's politicians have a lot to answer for. So in order to divert public anger away from their own mismanagement of the money, they went and blamed the Germans. Everyone knows this. Even the most recent proposal by the new president shields their own rich. Everyone knows this as well, but it's just so much easier to blame someone else. It happens all the time.

RE: "Age is in the mind" is this statement true in dating

"Age doesn't matter" is what old people say who want a young date. laugh

There's this comedian who said to an old lady in the audience just for fun that if he was a little older, he'd take her out and she pulled him down and said in a crackly old voice: but honey, age doesn't matter. He didn't crack that joke anymore after that laugh

RE: a prayer for nidifugous

Thanks so much to you guys who posted after my last post. I really appreciate your well wishes. Truly. I'm almost back to normal grin (whatever that means) laugh Believe it or not, the cosmic waves worked. On the day I was in the hospital, there was a short quake. Now I know why laugh

RE: a prayer for nidifugous

Omg, thank you all so very much for the kind wishes. All went well. I'm home now recovering, but not well enough to spend more than a few minutes on the pc. It will get better soon.

Your prayers and well wishes must have worked.

Love to all of you and again, a warm thank you to all. hug teddybear

Cg, thank you for putting this up. It's a little embarrassing, you know, but it goes to show what a nice person you are.

bouquet Good health to you all.

Which website are you talking about?

RE: What do you think about a man who don't like to work hoping to be maintained by a woman?

Good for you!

.. and nice to meet you as well wave

RE: What do you think about a man who don't like to work hoping to be maintained by a woman?

We have a saying that goes: Never make someone a priority who makes you an option. Remember that.

I knew a guy like that once. Same exact story. My advice: Do yourself a favor and find someone else. I'm guessing, but I would wager money that if you don't, he will as soon as he finds someone better/richer.

RE: What do you think about a man who don't like to work hoping to be maintained by a woman?

Not quite. Several people here, including myself, would say the same thing about a woman who sits home and lets a man support her.

If someone (male or female) is home raising kids, then that's a different story.

RE: dating is easier in the city than on the countryside

You know, I've heard that as well, but it's not true. Maybe for some people it is, but truthfully, it's not. Whether you end up being alone is a function of how social you are as a person. You can get contacts if you want to have them. Where are there few people, you don't have too many choices. Country is great for families, imo, but singles not so much, in my opinion. wave

RE: dating is easier in the city than on the countryside

Forgot to add.. in cities the size of NYC or LA or other metro areas, the chance of seeing a person twice by accident on the street are about as likely as spotting an alligator on the streets of Stockholm.

RE: dating is easier in the city than on the countryside

Definitely in better in the city. I love city life. There's always something to do. You definitely have more choices in every respect.

There are some downsides, but every place has some trade-offs. It just depends on what your priorities are.

RE: What do you think about a man who don't like to work hoping to be maintained by a woman?

Is she supporting him? If not, then it's his business.

If he is living off of her while he is waiting for someone to offer him a job as CEO of a multinational company, then she will grow tired of the little prince soon enough. Don't try to talk her out of him. You'll lose her as a friend. Let her figure it out herself.

(same goes for women who aren't raising kids).

RE: Real world

Hey, that's fantastic! yay I wish you both the best of luck ! wave

RE: How do you spend your time on CS?

Well, I'm guilty. I sometimes stay logged in, but I'm actually talking with people in real life and just forget to log out. Sometimes I play games. I can see how that looks weird, but just because I'm logged in, doesn't mean I'm actually here reading or playing. Half of the time, I'm just too lazy to log in or out. I'm not sitting here like a spider waiting to cast my evil web around some unsuspecting victim laugh

How come you wonder about this? hmm

What's more important to you: pretty face or hot body

Of course. That's a given. This isn't a scientific or accurate poll. Just saying that if you couldn't have both, then what would you choose. Congrats on having both in your g/f thumbs up

RE: Television is rubbish

No, I started out with the promotional one but that's the regular px. They increased the fees for the box rental and stuff earlier in the year and then I swapped channels around and basically said: I want HBO and don't care about the rest, just fix it so that it doesn't cost more than 150/month incl tax and fees. How much are they charging for the bundle where you are?

RE: Do you want your employer to begin drug testing of employees?

In principle I'm opposed, but then in reality it's probably a good idea. So my vote went for yes.

RE: problem

First of all, I'm glad to read you're getting better. I can't believe you did that on your own. I would have given you a ride to and from LAX and helped with whatever. Geez... I know what it's like to be on your own pre- and post-surgery, complications and all that. It's no fun and forget about looks and all that. When it comes to health, appearances don't matter. What matters is that there's someone there to keep an eye on you and make sure you're okay. If you have to come down this way again for a related matter, I hope you won't be too proud to give a ring, okay. Best of health to you bouquet

RE: The one that got away....

I'll go with procreate and perish. In the interim, we imagine all kinds of reasons for being on the planet, but in the end, we die and that's it. The notion that the grass is greener on the other side is a myth. Thinking about what you may be missing out on shuts down all opportunities in the here and now. Just m.o.

What's more important to you: pretty face or hot body

Yeah, put me on the waiting list for that, too laugh still, for fun, pick one. Imagine you're dating two girls and one has a hot bod and the other has the prettier face (everything else equal). Which would you choose?
