PS. Finns don't normally do this, by the way^^^^^^^^. From experience, many people who speak English as a first language tend to do this a lot. It is ignorant to assume the world speaks your language fluently.
It is the best feeling to try and speak Finnish or Swedish, go terribly wrong and then get corrected by a native Finn/Swede. Why? I appreciate it because I have exams for them.
Still, it is a whole different thing to correct non native speakers in a condescending, ignorant manner.
Speaking of cultures and bonding, Finns are extremely friendly and open to meeting people of different cultures. They are hospitable and so easy to please. I wait eagerly, for the day I meet my Finnish Prince Charming.
