RE: lawful marriage of living together ?

I think this addressing common law marriage where people have been together for so long it is recognized as a valid marriage with all the perks that come with it. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you don't care that you or your kids won't be taken care of if your husband dies, so be it.

I read in the paper where they are trying to make common law marriages valid. But if the people in these unions don't care, why should there need to be a law to protect what they don't care about?

RE: How useful is a woman that can't cook in a relationship?

So God forbid if sickness enters the picture. I guess then she would be good for nothing and worth leaving for a more "equal" relationship.

RE: Are men really afraid of independent strong women ?

Hey, let me know when you find them!!!! I'm in the market here!!!

RE: Child custody issues

This is very true. When I went to court for my divorce, it was horrible to listen to my ex lie. I thought to myself, OMG that lie sounds like something someone could believe. It boils down to which side the judge believes and he might just believe that lie. Luckily I had pictures of my bruised and swollen face to show the judge and I was granted my divorce.

I returned and saw under the sun,
that the race is not to the swift,
nor the battle to the strong,
neither yet bread to the wise,
nor yet riches to men of understanding,
nor yet favor to men of skill,
but time and chance happeneth to them all

RE: Who was the best Rocker Singer Ever, from the list below!

He was really great. I finally sat down and listened to him (when he was gone) and realized what talent he had.

My Old Home State

I was sorry to hear that CD 101.9 went off the air in NJ. I always listened to that smooth jazz station when I lived there and when I went back for a visit.

If you want to hear the station again, IT'S DOWN HERE in SC LOL 92.3 FM Nice change from all the religious and country stations I was getting used to.

RE: Written by a man.... advice for women.

This is wonderful. I'm going to keep a copy where I can always see it.

RE: Things You Should Know But Probably Don't

I've heard this many times but people SWEAR it is not true.

RE: Why do so many women go for married men?

Married men are just as much to blame.

RE: Do you Diet ?

I try to eat healthy and stock up on veggies. Good thing I like them.

RE: Thoughts on "You're" and "Your," "Its and It's," "Too and To," and Sundry Grammar Issues

Doesn't really belong here but when I was growing up, a group of people waiting were standing "in" line. Now they are standing "on" line. When did we change this?

Woman stuck on Toilet Seat goes to Hospital

I have to admit I almost fell out when I read this. How in the world could it be possible? It sounds like an Enquirer story but this was in my daily paper. Well, they do say truth is stranger than fiction.

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer

Hello!!! I moved here from NJ in 2004.

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer

What do you think of the pictures of Spitzer announcing his resignation with his wife Silda standing beside him?

Woman stuck on Toilet Seat goes to Hospital

This was in my paper this morning!!

Wichita, Kan. - Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years - so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called police.

Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat.

She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

Sheriff Whipple said the county attorney will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend.

He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

And her reply would be, "Maybe tomorrow," Sheriff Whipple said. Acording to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom.

RE: A Question For Women?

And you know, some people can't figure out why a person would judge them by their nickname. I sure do!! Trashy name, note goes in trash.

RE: Vanity question for older men

Nobody has said anything about the sprays that are used to cover bald spots. Is that spray on hair? Does it spray out fibers???? Does it come off if you touch it??

RE: Vanity question for older men

Please explain the comb over!

I see men doing this all the time! I don't think they are scratching. It's like they just have to adjust themselves. Maybe it's just a habit.

RE: Do you look your age?

Thanks a bunch Ambrose!!! lips

RE: Women claim to be able to handle a "s*xual relationship" without getting too emotionally involved.

Men would all die if they thought women could be just as casual as they can be sometimes.

RE: Do you look your age?

Well, I choose #2. People say I don't look old enough to join the Medicare brigade. I hope it's true.

RE: What do you think is the best place to live in the United States?

Same reason I wished I could have an owl as a pet laugh

RE: K.. I'm bored.. how many people bite their nails?

I was still biting my nails as a high school senior. I was cooking spaghetti for the family one night and my aunt came in and said something about someone that shocked the heck out of me. I just remember saying to myself "I'm not going to bite my nails anymore." . . . And I never did.

RE: Greatest Heartbreak Song

IF . . . . . . Bread

RE: whats the best way to become a millionaire ?

Ha ha ha ha ha, exactly what I was going to say!!

RE: What Happends Most in Divorce with Children?

No Pilipala I didn't but I was living with a chid whose actions I didn't understand. Why would my daughter cry when I tried to help her with her homework, why would she accuse me of telling others everything she told me, why did she seem to not want to be in my presence, why when she was 12 did she label herself as a "latch key child"? I remember standing there with my mouth open at her words. It seems obvious now, but back then I would have never thought that my ex could be such a monster. My son was older when I divorced so he wasn't as bad but he did nothing to change my daughter's perception of me. That hurt just as bad.

RE: What do you think is the best place to live in the United States?

I want some place that is not too hot, not too cold, doesn't have hurricanes or tornados or earthquakes and of course doesn't have any strange bugs or animals running around.

Does anyone know of a place like that??? confused

RE: What Happends Most in Divorce with Children?

The court gave me custody but even so the bitter ex ended up turning the kids against me. And me, I was trying so hard not to say anything against him. It took a co-worker's comments about the situation to make me realize what he was doing. By then it was too late.
