Are mass media and video games a contributing factors in school violence. I'm not sure.
Could the easy access to guns a significant variable. Maybe. It is to be noted that Adam Lanza mother taught him how to use a AR15 automatic rifle before he killed her and nineteen mostly first grader. The Columbine killers had their own guns and access to their parents guns.
Some folks would say access to guns is a weak cause because Canada has a lot of guns but not the violence.
Maybe the answer lies in the combination of known and unknown factors which help to fuel this cruel cycle of violence.

The CDC knows that to have a panic population can become more dangerous than the disease itself.
People can become unreasonable and irrational in a panic situation. We don't want people overpowering our arm force and turn the missiles on West Africa.
