RE: "A man who knows how to treat a woman like a lady"

Which is what I said earlier, apart for the bit about ther people being bitter and wishing them a lonely death. hmmm

RE: childhood habits

Were you always astounded that your dad couldn't put things you'd taken apart back together again?

Asking for a friend. giggle

RE: "A man who knows how to treat a woman like a lady"

The way you speak about other women speaks about you.

RE: Spontaneous Musical Entertainment

Wow, that was like laugh crying banana beer smitten wow dancing grin yay

Thanks for posting. bouquet

RE: There is no mind.

Yes, but not contained within it.

RE: There is no mind.

RE: Have a holiday on me sir.

I've noticed you make posts that warrant picking apart.

Does that count...?

RE: Define”Woman”

Maybe people don't see how a dodgy advertising campaign defines women. dunno

In answer to your seemingly off-topic question, however, it's up to adults to protect children.

I asked you earlier what you meant when you said I had the mentality of 'it'. Seeing as you've had a huff about people not replying as you expect to your comment, can you please abide by your own standards and reply to mine.

RE: Deep people...

We'll all be six foot under, soon enough.

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

I'm not knocking 'disabled' people. I'm not knocking your brother.

I'm knocking attitudes towards 'disablity'.

Maybe I'm not doing a very good job of expressing myself.

I certainly don't think I need more respect, or compassion since becoming sick. A better designed shower and more reliable public transport system would be great, but I'm not quite sure why those things aren't automatic regardless of ability. dunno

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

I'm saying that difference doesn't mean you're a useless tw*t who drags everyone around them down.

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

Or maybe women are already disabled by the gender role stereotype that we're weak and need looking after, so it's easier to ignore labelling us a second time in the same vein.

That's not 'disability being less disabling for women'.

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

"Virtual pat on the head" giggle

I hear your anger; I'm feeling just a weeee bit agitated myself.

The thing is, threads like these can be a tool to explore the issues and learn together. I'm trying to get over my affront and verbalise my thoughts and feelings in a constructive way.

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

Aspergers, autism and other neurodiversities are considered disabilites, and yet by communicating in this medium we are reliant upon its creators, maintainers and developers.

Why do we assume that difference is a disability and that we need to look after the poor souls out of the goodness of our elite hearts?

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

It wasn't sarcasm, it was a different perspective.

I really don't like the word 'disabled'.

I really don't like the vibe I'm getting off this thread.

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

Us able-bodied people. giggle

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

I'm glad someone got it, Bod. laugh

RE: Would you date a person with a disability?

You missed my point. grin

RE: Define”Woman”

What does that mean?

RE: Is he ever coming back to his blog about the WEF/Canada

That link doesn't describe the nature and range of knife crime. Presumably it could be anything from possession to threatening someone to a stabbing to a mass knifing. I would have thought it's more difficut to commit a mass knifing than a mass shooting and I haven't ever heard of any, never mind in the last 11 months.

According to my maths, which may be off, the UK has about a fifth of the population of the US. A fifth of the number of US mass shootings so far in 2022 (604) would be in excess of 120 mass shootings in the UK.

That would be 2-3 mass shootings in each county in less than 11 months.

RE: Define”Woman”

I'm sorry you've had your womanhood robbed.

That hasn't happened to me. shimmy

RE: Is he ever coming back to his blog about the WEF/Canada

Wtf..? shock

How many would that be in the UK based upon the difference in population size?

I've just worked it out, but I must have got my maths wrong.

RE: Define”Woman”

I quite like you, Track.

(Did you think I was going to gush like an American? giggle )

RE: Define”Woman”

I'm sorry you feel aggrieved that women no longer have to ask permission for their basic human rights, but, y'know, tough titties.

RE: I'll be there - MJ

giggle

RE: Could anyone really be "Undateable"?:hmmm:

That's really interesting.

Why would Phil in this scenario be undateable, rather than someone Mandy doesn't want to date?

How did we get to this cultural norm and what are doing on a psychlogical level?

To cast someone as undateable maybe reinforces our decision making. That would be rooted in a personal lack of confidence and emotional immaturity.

Like any kind of bullying, it exposes our own, rather than someone else's flaws.

RE: Could anyone really be "Undateable"?:hmmm:

Whichever way you look at it, the word has negative and belittling connotations because of it's associations with perceived flaws.

I wouldn't call myself 'undateable' even though I'm in no position to date.

RE: For Breckers

A spring green leaf stuffed with black rice, mushrooms, chia and linseed, a small avocado, vine ripened baby plum tomatoes, black olives, pea shoots, radish sprouts, garlic chives and a sprinkle of smoked sea salt.

RE: Sunday Roast

I think I read it, but I can't remember what it said.

Hog roasting isn't really my thing. I've got carrots and salsify in th'oven. Yay.
