Hello Bodey, old friend! I see you have a new one. Give him a cwtch from me, eh?
I'm not sure I know what strong, or weak mindedness is, or whether they're concepts which necessarily correlate with faith. Does it matter what a person's state of mind is with respect to faith?
The original post just struck me as a shot in the foot sort of an argument.
Well, he certainly wasn't a coward. It takes courage to stand up for what you believe in, particularly in the face of losing everything, including your liberty.
I don't know that I'd call him a hero either, though. I think I'd call him a man.
He was a man who had a lot to say, a man who achieved a lot, a man who's life is inspiring, a man who left a legacy.
Sometimes I just go with my cravings, sometimes I deliberately seek out foods with certain properties. I didn't know naff bananas had the cancer curing properties.
Maybe people who are compatible for one stage of life are not compatible for another.
If friendships come and go according to circumstances, life changes, personal development, etc., then maybe it's unrealistic for relationships to survive those same life changes.
And there are more life changes involved in some societies now. Gone are the days when people would have the same employer all their working lives. Likewise, the structure of families with one breadwinner, or one person with a career.
The logistics of two people's employment, or careers can make it difficult for couples to stay together.
RE: Is being religious a strong minded person with faith, or for the weak minded?
KB, me old china! I was just thinking of you.I'm good - moved house, changed jobs, gained a gaggle of grandchildren through no fault of my own.
